Choose from five ioProx readers that easily meet the demands
of any application. The readers are attractive, compact,
weatherized, and vandal-resistant, making them suitable for
installation in a variety of environments.
Read Range
Easy Installation
Depending on the model selected and the environmental
conditions, read range varies from 16.5 cm to 73 cm (6.5 in to 29 in). With its extended range, the P600 Long Range
Reader is ideal for parking lots and applications where an
extended read range is needed to facilitate access.
Snap-and-lock terminal blocks (P225 and P325 series) allow for
easy wiring, saving time and money.
Unshielded Cable
Voltage Requirements
Depending on the model selected, power requirements range
from 4.5 to 14 VDC (P225 and P325 series) or 12 to 28 VDC
(P600), providing compatibility with virtually any controller on
the market. This allows a system to be upgraded simply by
changing readers and cards without rewiring.
Integrated 12-Button Keypad
Integrated keypad models are ADA-compliant and based on
the 8-bit burst industry standard. Convenient features such as
arming/disarming and alarm triggering are pre-programmed for
use with Kantech EntraPass software.
ioProx readers can be installed using unshielded cable to a
distance of up to 300 m (1000 ft) from the controller. Using this
type of cable significantly reduces installation costs.
XSF Security
Kantech eXtended Secure Format (XSF) readers are compatible
only with Kantech EntraPass software which includes access
to over four billion unique codes. Kantech’s XSF cards provide
increased security against card duplication.

SA-500-EN
ioPass is a fully programmable stand-alone access control
system that allows entry using proximity technology, keypad,
or both, for up to 5,000 users. Compact and surface mountable,
ioPass is programmed directly from the unit. The system
is available in two models: with an integrated or external
proximity reader.
Easy Programming
Programming is performed directly from the keypad with
visual confirmation of each operation on the 16-character,
2-line LCD display.
Invalid Password Lockout
To prevent unauthorized persons from gaining password entry
by trial and error the system activates an alarm relay and/or
automatically deletes the card number after five tries once the
option is selected in the system.
Integrated or External ioProx Proximity Reader
Two ioPass models are available. The integrated proximity
reader model SA-500-EN is used for indoor installations. The
external proximity reader model SA-600-EN provides a vandal
and weather resistant feature.
Ideal for small applications, the SA-500-EN model includes
a reader hidden behind the keypad while the SA-600-EN,
designed for outside applications, includes an external reader
that may be wired up to 150 m (500 ft) from the ioPass
controller.

The ioPass relay module is separate from the unit and can be
concealed inside a wall or ceiling.

Opens the door to versatile security
Flash Memory Programming
The KT-100’s firmware program is stored in flash memory
for easy upload from the workstation without changing
memory chips. Security providers will also find the flash
memory saves time by allowing system upgrades from a
PC without having to physically go to every controller.
Trouble Reporting
Constant trouble supervision keeps tabs on the unit’s
power supply and whether a short to ground or open
circuit is affecting the locking device. It also checks all the
equipment for any type of failure or tampering, while a
self-resetting PTC protects the power output against short
circuits and surges.
Shortens Installation Time
Mounts on the secure side of a door, reducing the length
of cable required for installations. Has no dipswitches or
jumpers to set. Includes connections for 2 card readers
(entry/exit), lock device, door contact and request to exit.
Mounting is easy: it can be placed on a single gang box
(flush mount) or on a surface back box specially
designed for it.

Ordering Information

Point Monitoring
System Configuration
Each KT-200 can monitor the state of 16 input points such as magnetic
contacts, motion detectors, temperature sensors or any other device with
dry contacts. To ensure line integrity, all zones are terminated with end-ofline resistors.
The system configuration is determined by a choice of EPROMs available to
meet different systems and capacity requirements. As the system is
expanded, the KT-200 circuit board remains the same. This feature provides
flexibility and savings in the future.
Control Relays
Memory and Autonomy
Two control relays provided on each KT-200 can be used to activate
alarms or other devices such as lighting control, ventilation, and air
conditioning. These relays can be activated according to schedules, events
reported by the system, or a combination of different logical conditions.
All KT-200 controllers keep the access control database in memory. This means
that the KT-200 keeps all information regarding cards, schedules, access codes
and can verify access requests even when it is disconnected from the network
(autonomy varies for EntraPass Global Edition). The memory is also protected by
a lithium battery maintaining data even if the usual battery backup is
disconnected. Date and time are also maintained by this on-board battery.

The KT-300 door controller supports up to two readers, which
you can install either on a single door to monitor both entry
and exit or on two separate doors. It provides connections for
all peripheral devices necessary for a complete access control
system and can link with other door controllers to give you
control over thousands of doors.
Stand-alone mode protects against power or system failures
and the system stores cardholder and event data, which is
automatically transmitted back to the EntraPass system once
the network connection is restored. Flash memory lets you
update firmware from your EntraPass workstation in just a
few minutes.
KT-300 detects the system’s communication speed and assigns
the controller’s address, eliminating the need to set up switches
or jumpers. KT-300 also provides trouble reporting, constantly
supervising locking devices for short and open circuits to
detect lock failures and monitoring battery condition to alert the
system of low battery/no battery status. All power outputs are
individually protected and self-resetting against short circuits
and surges.
Built-in Combus expansion means you can add relay, input, and
output modules to connect HVAC systems, elevators, motion
detectors, and more. You can add an LCD to view time and
date information. Additionally, KT-300 can interface with external
alarm systems so that an authorized individual can arm or
disarm them simply by presenting his/her access control card to
a reader.

Kantech KT-400 is an Ethernet-ready four-door controller
that provides 128-bit AES-encrypted communication with
the EntraPass system and is a highly secure solution for
any security-conscious business. KT-400 can easily be
integrated into an existing EntraPass system with other
Kantech controllers (KT-100 and KT-300) or can provide
the foundation for a brand new security installation. With
an embedded Ethernet port, IP connectivity is effortless.
Initially available with 16 onboard inputs and four
onboard outputs, KT-400 is easily expandable to 256
inputs and relay outputs. The expansion modules
are added using removable SPI cables with built-in
connectors for quick connectivity.
KT-400 works with any EntraPass system (Special,
Corporate, and Global Editions) to provide customers
with a solution they can use across their entire
corporation, even in the most challenging types of
applications. With a card capacity of 100,000 and up to
20,000 concurrent events in stand-alone mode, KT-400
is the perfect solution whether installed at the corporate
headquarters with thousands of employees or at regional
locations with only a few employees. You are ensured
that the same security policies and procedures are
implemented across the entire corporation.
LED status indicators help you to diagnose or react
to controller issues quickly. With a variety of status
indicators, you can view and quickly handle system
duress. These security features significantly reduce the
risk of system downtime by alerting you to controller
issues, power status, and network and outputs activity.

Easy Network Connectivity
You can save valuable time and money with the
addition of the KT-400 Ethernet port. With embedded
IP connectivity, an external IP device is no longer
required to connect to the network. In addition, the
10/100Base-T Ethernet port provides faster connectivity.
The onboard port is dual-sensing which means the
system senses whether the connection is 10Base-T
or 100Base-T and adjusts automatically.
Easy Setup with Removable Terminal
Blocks
In order to expedite installation and facilitate
serviceability, KT-400 features removable terminal
blocks that are simple to connect and are color-coded
for quick identification. This prevents an installer from
wasting valuable time figuring out where to attach
each wire.
Built-in Web Configuration
Use the built-in web configuration page, which is
accessible through any Internet browser, to quickly
verify and configure the IP settings of KT-400. For
enhanced security, once KT-400 is configured and
settings are accepted, the web page cannot be
accessed again. If a configuration error is made, the
board can be reset to factory default and the web page
will be available again through the Internet browser.
Control Occupancy Levels with
Anti-Passback
KT-400 supports occupancy restrictions for four local
areas at the controller level with the anti-passback
feature. This feature allows you to define a particular
area that may have capacity limitations, such as
an auditorium, conference room, or laboratory. You
can configure KT-400 to limit the amount of people
permitted into this area. Once the limit has been
reached, no additional personnel will be allowed to
enter the defined location. This prevents overcrowding
or violation of capacity regulations.
Low Bandwidth Consumption
Unlike similar real-time devices, KT-400 manages
network polling and communicates with the
EntraPass Gateway only when an event has occurred.
Communication integrity is ensured through a heartbeat
signal which is sent at regular intervals to the EntraPass
system. This asynchronous communication significantly
reduces the amount of bandwidth required to manage
your access control system over the network. The
communication link is monitored by KT-400 for
enhanced security. If there is communication failure
between KT-400 and EntraPass, an alarm will be
triggered in the EntraPass system for immediate repair.
Supervised Lock Power for Added
Flexibility
KT-400 receives 12 to 24 VDC for up to 3 amps of
supervised lock power with an external power source
for added flexibility.
Choose a Controller Configuration That
Makes Sense for Your Application
KT-400 provides multiple controller configurations
to suit your specific access control needs. These
configurations provide communication with any device
on the network for more connection options. You can
choose any of the following options:
• IP (Ethernet)
• RS-485 (COM1) for communication between
EntraPass Gateway and KT-100, KT-200 (on a
separate loop), KT-300, and KT-400
• RS-232 (COM3) for direct connection to the EntraPass
Gateway
More Flexibility with Expansion Modules
There are 16 onboard inputs on KT-400. Up to 240
more can be added through the addition of expansion
modules for a total of 256 inputs. Each input can be
individually used for a variety of applications including
door contact, request to exit detectors, external alarm
system zones, and more.
Additionally, there are four onboard relay outputs, and
up to 256 relay or open drain outputs can be supported
through the addition of expansion modules. For quick
service and troubleshooting, the modules can be added
using SPI cables with built-in connectors.
Configurable Reader Outputs for
Added Security
There are four different outputs for each of the
four onboard reader interfaces for a total of 16
programmable outputs. The reader outputs provide
a user with visual and/or audible feedback (from the
buzzer on the reader) on ongoing access events.
End-of-Line Resistors Provide an Added
Layer of Security
The 16 onboard inputs and the 16 inputs from the
expansion board can be individually configured with
or without single or double end-of-line resistors using
8 inputs per expansion board1 to monitor more states
associated with a customer’s installation, significantly
increasing the level of security.

Network-Ready

provide secure communication via 128-bit AES encryption when

Kantech EntraPass Global Edition is a powerful,
network-ready system that accommodates widely-dispersed
applications with an unlimited number of users, controls
thousands of card readers, and allows you to simultaneously
access the system from up to 128 workstations connected to
the network.
EntraPass Global Edition supports the Kantech KT-NCC
network communication controller which improves system
reliability by removing a layer of computers from the
decision-making process. KT-NCC manages communication
from EntraPass to any of the Kantech controllers as well as
administers global features such as anti-passback, alarm
systems, guard tours, and secondary access levels.
EntraPass Global Edition’s distributed architecture supports
connections to remote sites using direct connections, dial-up
modems, and TCP/IP communication with KT-100, KT-200,
and KT-300 controllers (with Corporate Gateway) using
Kantech IP Link, or KT-400 Ethernet-ready four-door controller

128-bit AES-encryption. All communication is sent over the
network only when required, keeping network traffic down to

Video integration between EntraPass and American Dynamics
HDVR and Intellex digital video management systems
dramatically increases security by linking access control
events, such as “door forced open”, to a video clip directly
from the access control application.
EntraPass Global Edition also integrates with the Kantech
Telephone Entry System to bring you an access control solution
with telephone entry access capabilities. A simplified version of
the EntraPass software is included with each Kantech Telephone
Entry System which allows for fast configuration and firmware
upgrades, live transaction monitoring, and system backup. For

Powerful and Reliable Global Security
EntraPass Global Edition supports the extremely dependable
KT-NCC when used with the KT-100, KT-300, and KT-400
door controllers, making your access control system easier
to manage, easier to expand, and much more reliable. Now,
instead of relying on a computer for communication between
the controllers and EntraPass server, KT-NCC is in control,
storing all events from the controllers.
The IT-friendly KT-NCC easily connects to your existing
network with an onboard Ethernet port and communicates
with any of the Kantech controllers, making it a very powerful
way to expand an EntraPass Global Edition system. KT-NCC
supports 128 controllers in the following ways:
• One RS-232 loop with 32 controllers
• Two RS-485 loops with 32 controllers each (total 64)
• Four IP loops using Lantronix with eight controllers
per loop (total 32)
KT-NCC provides seven LED modes for quick assessment
of system status, such as loss of communication, start up,
etc. A battery backup eliminates the need for a universal
power supply (UPS) and ensures continual operation. New
functionality can be flashed directly from the EntraPass
server to each KT-NCC. For more information on KT-NCC,
refer to the KT-NCC data sheet.
Global Security Features
EntraPass Global Edition is ideal for widely-dispersed
applications that require a higher level of security. For
example, global anti-passback helps you prevent a
cardholder from passing back his or her card to a second
person to gain entry into a secured area, regardless of
whether those areas are in close proximity or far apart. In
addition, powerful alarm partitioning lets you divide an area
protected by the EntraPass system into as many as 100
partitions per gateway and individualize the alarm parameters
for each.
EntraPass Global Edition and KT-NCC also enable you to
control clearances globally. For example, a worker with
temporary access to one part of the building or campus will
lose access once the authorized clearance duration
has passed.
EntraPass also provides greater security and protection
using muster reports. Mustering is critical for emergency
situations where it is crucial to evacuate a building as quickly
as possible. You can print a list of personnel in a predefined
group of areas to determine who is present and if the area is
secure when an alarm or event is triggered. Mustering also
includes a parking management function which notifies users
when a parking area is exceeding its capacity and restricts
access to the area.
Simplified and Improved System
Management
EntraPass Global Edition workspaces provide customized
views of the system based on an operator’s access
privileges. Each workspace is created and defined in terms
of devices - gateways, sites, doors, relays, etc. - and is
configured to identify what areas of the EntraPass system
the operator can access and view, such as desktop display,
card fields, etc. Workspaces enable you to create different
views of the EntraPass system that can be saved and
applied to any user.
You can assign up to five cards to any single employee to
avoid having to create five different entries in EntraPass.
Access levels can also be applied at this time to ensure
cardholders have access only to authorized areas. This
function is also available when using EntraPass WebStation.
Manage Your System Remotely
Easily manage your system over the Internet using the
EntraPass WebStation. The web interface provides remote
access to create, modify, and delete cardholders without
installing and maintaining additional workstations. You can
assign primary and secondary access levels to cardholders,
manage your access levels and schedules, manually operate
doors, relays, and inputs, view last card transactions, receive
reports securely by email, and integrate and display live
video from IP cameras, DVRs, etc. using WebViews.
You can translate the WebStation into any foreign language
using EntraPass vocabulary editor. For convenience,
EntraPass WebStation defaults to English and French.
SmartLink for Advanced System
Integration and Automation
SmartLink is an application that enables any third party
application or database to automatically interact with the
EntraPass system. SmartLink uses built-in macros to help
you integrate applications such as CCTV multiplexers,
paging systems, automated e-mails, HVAC systems, etc.,
by using an RS-232 or network connection between the
system and the third-party device. For advanced system
integration, SmartLink enables communication with software
applications such as time and attendance, badging, human
resource management, student registration and more,
through Ethernet, TCP/IP, an RS-232 port, API, or with DLLs.
This allows complete and real-time data exchange between
systems, eliminating duplicate data entry.
With the addition of the SmartLink Task Commander,
EntraPass reaches new levels in task automation. Using the
powerful functionality of the task builder, a series of tasks,
similar to macros, are created and can be triggered on any
event and component in the system. When an event occurs,
the tasks are then executed by the system. You can even
manually activate these specific tasks directly from the
interactive floor plans in EntraPass.
The SmartLink Task Commander with the addition of toggle
functionality can be used to create a task that can turn on/
shut off lights and lock/unlock doors, relays, or inputs and
perform other specific actions based on the identity of the
cardholder. For example, a customer operating a storage
facility can open specific storage room doors when they
swipe a card at the main entrance door. Furthermore multiple
cards can be expired, enabled and disabled on any event.

The Benefits of Video Integration
Integration with an American Dynamics Intellex digital video
management system and HDVR provides real-time video
monitoring as well as video playback of critical access
events. Video can be linked to access control events and
recorded from different Intellex systems simultaneously.
Presets, sequences, dome control, and 1x1, 2x2, 3x3, and
4x4 views are available through the EntraPass software. View
up to 48 cameras simultaneously using 3 WebViews. All
cameras can be called up directly from a floor plan simply by
double-clicking on the camera or dome icon.
EntraPass Video Vault
Installed on your network, the optional Video Vault offers an
alternative to manually saving each video clip one-by-one.
Simply pre-define groups for your video clips (such as door
forced or rejected card) and Video Vault saves them to the
appropriate group based on whatever schedules you choose.
Redundancy Server
An optional redundancy server with a mirror database
monitors all data activity on your primary EntraPass server and
creates a real-time copy of the system database. In the event
of primary server failure, the mirror database automatically
launches the redundancy server which supports all the
features and functionality of the primary server. Once the
primary server returns online, all archives are merged and/or
the entire database is merged/copied from the redundancy
server, without interrupting system operations.

Network Ready
EntraPass Corporate Edition supports Kantech IP Link, which
provides a secure and affordable way to manage your access
control system over a network using KT-100 and KT-300
door controllers. Kantech IP link manages polling of these
door controllers and communicates with EntraPass Corporate
Edition only when an event has occurred. This significantly
reduces the amount of bandwidth required. Kantech IP Link
uses 128-bit AES encryption to communicate with EntraPass
to ensure secure communication when used over the Internet.
In addition, EntraPass supports the KT-400 Ethernet-ready
four-door controller that provides 128-bit AES-encrypted
communication. With an onboard Ethernet port, you do not
need to purchase an external IP device to connect to the
network.

Redundancy Server
Integration with an American Dynamics Intellex digital video
management system or HDVR provides real-time video
monitoring as well as video playback of critical access
events. Video can be linked to access control events and
recorded from different Intellex systems simultaneously.
Presets, sequences, dome control, and 1x1, 2x2, 3x3, and
4x4 views are available through the EntraPass software. View
up to 48 cameras simultaneously using 3 WebViews. All
cameras can be called up directly from a floor plan simply by
double-clicking on the camera or dome icon.
EntraPass Corporate Edition offers an optional redundancy
server with a mirror database to monitor all data activity on
your primary EntraPass server and creates a real-time copy of
the system database. In the event of primary server failure, the
mirror database automatically launches the redundancy server
which supports all the features and functionality of the primary
server. Once the primary server returns online, all archives
are merged and/or the entire database is copied from the
redundancy server, without interrupting system operation.

offers an alternative to manually saving each video clip one by

T.Rex provides a complete solution to exit detection and door
surveillance for access control applications. Outstanding
innovations such as X-Y Targeting and DSP implementation
make T.Rex the fastest and most reliable exit detector on the
market today.
X-Y Targeting detects movement in very specific areas for
added security. T.Rex is the first detector on the market to offer
vertical targeting using two adjustable louvers located in the
detection chamber. The installer “trims” the detection area by
adjusting these louvers from 90° down to 5° and rotates the
lens for horizontal adjustments. These two adjustments allow
the installer to mount the detector so that the detection area will
not “hit” the floor along the doorjamb, defeating any attempt to
circumvent door supervision by sliding objects under the door.
T.Rex utilizes infrared detection coupled with DSP sampling
specifically designed for access control applications. Since
a truly effective exit detector must detect the extremely fast
movement of a hand (the target) about to push the door or turn
the door handle, the low sensitivity of intrusion detection alone
is inadequate. Coupling the intrusion detection with DSP allows
T.Rex to accurately detect exits and trigger appropriate “Door
Forced Open” alarms.
