A tour of Andalusia is about twisties, tapas, wine and scenery. And about more twisties.
Andalucia has always been associated with fiery steeds and proud horsemen. We feel like knights, in our
colorful armor, mounting our metal stallions. Up to Granada we ride, to the Alhambra, the most splendid
palace the Moorish caliphs ever built. It is a magnificent picture, with the snow-covered Sierra Nevada as
a backdrop. Next on our trail is Antequera, a typical Andalusian white town with historic buildings around
every corner. From here the road meanders through rolling hills covered with olive and almond tree
groves. Black fighting bulls rub their hides lazily on rough cork oaks near Arcos de la Frontera. We stop
in Gibraltar, not far from Africa, before we arrive at the spectacular town of Ronda, situated on both sides
of the deep, narrow Tajo Canyon. The local bullfighting arena is said to be the place where the classical
Spanish bullfight was first celebrated.
On the last day we ride our high-tech horses through the Sierra and along the white beaches of the
Mediterranean Sea. Is it our imagination, or do we really hear one of our boxers scrape a hind leg on the
ground for a farewell?
