Page 3 The Lunch Bunch program offers the chance for our members to try local restaurants together. We offer van transportation to the restaurant and back to the center. Members are responsible for paying for their own lunch. In June, members checked out the new Green Leaf Grill on Main Street. This month, we’re going to enjoy Mexican fare at El Puerto on July 15th. In July, we have several different opportunities to get out and about with your friends from the Center. All of these are right after lunch and before taking people home. So— Everyone who rides the vans into the center on these days, will go on the trip because the vans will leave directly from that destination to take people back to their homes. If you do not want to go to these places and you rely on the vans for transportation, you’ll want to stay home. July 6—Cheese Shop Everyone seems to enjoy a periodic shopping trip to the Cheese Shop in Stuarts Draft. Since we only have one van going, you must sign-up in advance for this trip. Signups are done when the van is full. The van will leave at 11:15 and arrive back by 1:30 so everyone can catch their rides home. A menu is on display with the sign-up sheet. July 7—Avante, 1:00 p.m. We’re going to spread joy to others by going over to Avante Nursing and Rehab on July 7. We will arrive there at 1:00 p.m. Member Alice Sensabaugh will bring her guitar and lead everyone (us and the residents at Avante) in a sing-a –long. We will depart between 1:30 and 1:45 to head home. July 19—Kline’s Ice Cream Oh what do we crave on these hot summer days– ICE CREAM!
