The structure of keratinocytes and intercellularlipid consists of the skin barrier
similar to the structure of a brick wall.
intercellularlipid is the lamella that consists of ceramide, fatty acids, cholesterol,
and cholesterol ester and holds the skin barrier tightly in place with
corneodesmosome.
When the skin barrier collapses, the lamella is destroyed by the external
