USA Today insisted the Knockout Game was just a figment of white fear.
Black on white racial violence? Sometimes called the Knockout Game? Ridiculous, said
reporters all over the country.
But the Knockout Game attacks just kept happening by the hundreds.
Once and for all, let’s document them with videos, victims, stories and links that we can
show to reporters, talk show hosts, family, friends and deniers of all kinds.
And let’s keep it recent.
Between this book and the White Girl Bleed a Lot web site, YouTube channel, and
Facebook Page, this is by far the most complete collection of Knockout Game stories ever

cannot wait for the media to figure this out. To quote the great one: We are the media.
By the time the Knockout Game became a national buzz word in November of 2013, I
had been writing about it for two years. First in White Girl Bleed a Lot. Then dozens of times
afterward in WND.com, FrontPage.com, Breitbart, AmericanThinker.com and lots of other
places.
Critics liked it: Thomas Sowell, Allen West, Breitbart, Joseph Farah, Thomas Lifson, the
Daily Caller, WND, American Thinker, David Horowitz, Jamie Glazov and others said I was
ahead of the curve. Way ahead.
Others like the Los Angeles Times and Village Voice and Salon said I was making the
whole thing up. National talk radio host Thom Hartmann said White Girl Bleed a Lot caused the
Knockout Game. Just the way MSNBC said White Girl Bleed a Lot caused the Boston Marathon
bombing.
There is a lot of craziness surrounding the denials of the Knockout Game. The same kind
of denial people use to ignore and deny other episodes of black mob violence and black on white
crime that is wildly out of proportion.
These denials cannot survive the truth. So let’s present that here without racism. Without
rancor. Without apologies.
Let’s start with a simple definition of the Knockout Game: Racial violence, often
spontaneous, often marked with laughter and videos. Sometimes players call it the Knockout
Game. Sometimes they don’t.
Let’s not make it too complicated: Start with some black people. Find a white person. An
Asian will do. Hit them as hard as you can as long as you like. Or until your arms are tired or the
victim is knocked out. Or dead.

Sometimes there is robbery. Sometimes planning. Sometimes video. Sometimes they call
it something else: Polar Bear Hunting. Hitting woods (as in peckerwoods.) Sometimes they don’t
call it anything at all except having fun attacking people. That’s why there is almost always
laughing.
If you attack someone for the hell of it, you are playing the Knockout Game.
If you are white or Asian or gay or female or young or old and a black person attacks you
just because they feel like it, you are a victim of the Knockout Game. Rifling your pockets and
stealing a cell phone does not change a thing about the nature of this game.
It’s a black thing. You don’t have to understand it. Or explain it. Just know that it
happens. We’ll meet some victims who wish it had not.
And like other cases of racial violence documented in White Girl Bleed a Lot: The return
of racial violence to America and how the media ignore it, reporters deny and even encourage it.
As crazy as the predators are, the reporters who enable it are crazier. Way crazier.
“Colin,” I can hear them say, “we don’t have any evidence that crime is racially
motivated.”
That is their mantra. Their out: Ignore the evidence, then say the evidence does not exist.
There is a ton of evidence: Victims, videos, witnesses, police reports, 911 calls. And when you
string them together, you get an undeniable pattern of relentless racial violence. That is what we
have with the Knockout Game. And what we are showing here.
Before we start with stories of violence and denial and encouragement, a word about the
statistics on black crime: They are bad. Really bad. Black crime is 6, 8, 10, 40, 100 times worse
than white crime. And if you consider Asians, multiply that difference by another ten.
As bad as they are, black crime statistics are way worse. You can check out my video
podcast on that. Or wait for my next book. Or read about it in White Girl Bleed a Lot.
If you can’t wait, know this: Cities like Baltimore and New York are arresting 50 percent
fewer people. Black juries tend not to convict black criminals. Witness intimidation and ‘stitches
for snitches’ hides even more black crime.
Ask a cop. Go ahead.
Even so, some insist that white on black violence is worse than black on white. They
point to hate crime statistics as proof. When they are no proof at all.
Virtually none of the hundreds and hundreds of cases of the Knockout Game and racial
violence cited here are listed as hate crimes. To some, that means they are random. And race has
nothing to do with it.
A single crime, by itself, is meaningless. But when you put them together and string them
and see the pattern, there is no doubt the pattern shows what the crime stats say: Black mob
violence and black crime is astronomically out of proportion.
Let me help out The Deniers. Maybe they already know this. Maybe not. Either way, if
what I am saying in this book and in White Girl Bleed a Lot is not true, it would be really, really
easy to shut me down.

Just produce other stories, other videos, of white on black violence. All you have to do is
show the violence is proportional among races.
Should be easy. I’ve been waiting for three years. Guess it’s not. Or they would have
done it by now.
My Favorite Knockout Game Story.
And it is not just because a reporter gets beat up. Ok, I guess that’s part of it.
Let’s start with a story from the gang where denial is an art form: National Public Radio.
NPR cannot make up its mind whether the Knockout Game is an “old phenomenon with
fresh branding,” or just a conservative fairy tale spun by You Know Who. (Me.)
Either way, they are pretty sure they do not want anything to do with it.
Meanwhile, victims, witnesses and videos continue to pour forth. Even an NPR producer,
John Hingsbergen was a victim. His testimonial, reluctant as it is, is emerging as my favorite.
Even more than Congressman Cleaver’s ‘don’t make the black kids angry’ manifesto.1
Well, maybe not that much. But close. Let’s get to it:2 It comes in a comment to an NPR
story about the Knockout Game, and how it is a myth because crazy white people make up stuff
like that about black people all the time. The show is called Code Switch: And their mission is to
let NPR listeners see their world through their lens. A racial lens.
A lens that minimized, denied and condoned racial violence. NPR program directors are
usually OK with that. Until this one came face to face with the Knockout Game:
“Folks, as a Program Director at an NPR station, I
don't usually get involved in discussions like this,
but I have personal experience with this so-called
game,” Hingsbergen said last year in the comments
section of an NPR blog on race called Code Switch.
“It was this past May (2013), just a block from the
Hilton Garden Inn on First St, N.E. While I was
taking a brief walk around the area, within sight of
the hotel and with plenty of other people on the
sidewalk, a teenager walked up to me and smacked
me on the side of the head.
Thankfully, he was not strong enough to "knock
out" this 60+ year old so all I did was spin around,
only to see him take off running to the other side of
the street to join two companions who were
laughing as if it was the most hilarious thing they'd
ever seen.”

Laughing is a constant of the Knockout Game. That’s what people do when they are
having fun. Psychologist Marlin Newburn will explain that in a bit. Hingsbergen gets to the hard
part:
“Is there a racial component? I choose to believe not
but sadly this was an African American teenager
attacking an older white man.”
I asked Hingsbergen why reporting the news without fear or favor should be an occasion
of sadness.
No reply. Maybe he was afraid someone would laugh at him, again.
Let’s not be too hard on Hingsbergen. I don’t think we’ll be seeing his name in the credits
of the NPR flagship show Fresh Air with Terry Gross any time soon.
I once did a story that got a black man out of prison. I showed he was unjustly convicted
of trying to kill his white girlfriend. His name is Kelvin Wiley. Court TV devoted an hour to the
case after Wiley was released from prison. I was a hero on NPR and the Los Angeles Times then.
Today, not so much.
Back to Hingsbergen. We will see more of this. Lots more: Wishful thinking that gets in
the way of reporters and editors doing what they are supposed to do. Tell us what is happening.
Like Portland, Oregon.
The summer of 2013 will be remembered as the time Portland figured out it was in the
middle of a nasty bout of black mob violence. A lot of it directed at white people who ride
bicycles.3
Playing the Knockout Game with people on bikes is a special kind of fun and it happens
on bike trials all over the country.
But Tim Oberlander did not want us to know that. Oberlander said he wanted to be able
to live in a city that “does good things for good people.”4
So what’s wrong with that?
Everything.
Oberlander is a news editor at KGW TV in Portland. His city is under attack from black
mob violence centered around Martin Luther King Boulevard. This mob has been attacking bike
riders, housewives, students, seniors, you name it. 5
These attacks are part of a long — but quiet — history of racial violence in a liberal
enclave that prides itself on racial tolerance and harmony. But in reality is just a more
determined form of denial and deceit.
But you would never know it from Oberlander.
Oberlander and his station raised money to fix the teeth of a recent victim of black mob
violence. “Now we’ve raised money for Andy’s (Sweeney’s) teeth, I can say that we live in a
city that does good things for good people.”6

Oberlander might think he is a good person.
But some of his viewers say he is a dangerous person for leaving out the descriptions of
the predators in his news accounts. Oops, that’s what reporters do when they want to tell you
what is really happening but don’t have the nuts to say so.
They play the “according to other people” game.
So let’s rephrase that: I say that any news director that withholds details of violence that
could help an audience avoid it is dangerous and stupid.
Andy Sweeney’s toothless adventure began when he was riding home from the grocery
store in August when a “group of teens” threw a traffic cone at him. Knocking him off his bike,
leaving him with a concussion and two shattered front teeth in what used to be a winning smile.
“It’s crazy,” Sweeney told KGW. “I don’t really understand their motivation or what they
were going for.”
Lots of readers figured it out, even if the KGW was determined to ignore it: “Great job
‘whitewashing’ the story,” said David Klassix at KGW’s reader comment section. “And failing
to mention the attackers were black.”
Said another, Chloe Ru “Hey KGW. I will help you do something called REPORTING
THE FACTS instead of hiding the truth,” said Ru. Another victim said “her attackers were a
group of [AFRICAN AMERICAN aka BLACK] teenage boys and she suspects they didn’t stop
with her.”
“Anyone with any information about a roaming pack of AFRICAN AMERICAN aka
BLACK teenage thugs beating anyone else, please call…..Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. They
care just as much as KGW does about the community’s safety.”
Sweeney described his attackers on Twitter: “Black kids in hoodies.” Guess Oberlander
doesn’t do the Twitter thing.
After the sanitized version of the bike attacks became public, other victims of black mob
violence in that area stepped forward as well, one at Reddit.com in response to Sweeney’s Tweet:

“Same thing happened to me once except it was
rocks being thrown, and thankfully my teeth are
intact. The best you can do is just avoid being
around any collection of young black males. It isn’t
being racist it’s just being practical.”
Many of the attacks are centered around Martin Luther King Boulevard. Maybe local
media thinks everyone already knows this is a black part of town. For the benefit of the out of
towners, it is.
Some readers of White Girl Bleed a Lot provided a link to the Chris Rock comedy bit,
back when he was still doing this kind of thing:
“I don’t care where you are in America, if you’re on
Martin Luther King Boulevard, there’s some
violence going down.
It ain’t the safest place to be. You can’t call nobody
and tell them you are lost on MLK.” (If you do,
they will say) RUN! RUN! RUN!
Besides joyful violence, there is one other part of the Knockout Game and racial violence
that is almost always present: The media ignore it. Condone it. Or deny it. And Washington is
full of NPR and other media outlets doing just that.
Soon after L’Affaire Hingsbergen became public, it happened again: Ten black people
attacked a still unidentified man in Washington, D.C. He lived. They laughed. "After the punch, I
remember chuckling," he told the ABC affiliate.7
At least they got one part right, calling it a “disturbing trend sweeping D.C.” All except
the part where everyone was black. Except the victims.
In November 2013, Phoebe Connolly was riding her bike through a Washington, D.C.
neighborhood when she passed through a group of black people. CNN calls them “teenagers.” 8
Then one "reached out and punched me in the face," she told Anderson Cooper. "The
whole group of kids laughed.” The day before the same thing happened to another woman in the
same place, Connolly said.
Anderson Cooper did his best ‘I have no idea what is really going on here’ impression.
He has it down: That’s what a lot of practice will do.
A few days later, a black person punched New York Congresswoman Grace Meng in the
head and stole her purse. She now believes she could have been the victim of the Knockout
Game. She doesn’t remember the laughing, or much else about the attack on the streets of
Washington.9
Racial violence is a regular and frequent part of life in the nation’s capital. So is black
mob violence against Asians — all across the country.

A few days before on Halloween, a “large group of assailants” beat and robbed a 50year- old teacher at the Metropolitan Branch Trail, a hiking and biking path from Union Station
downtown to the suburbs in Maryland.10
This was one of dozens of similar black mob attacks at the Metro Branch Trail over the
last three years against bikers and hikers and joggers, sometimes using weapons including stun
guns and pipes. Other times, just fists and feet and taunting.
In June 2013, the Washington Post sent two reporters to do a story on the ritual mayhem
at the trail. Despite the added brainpower, they were not able to detect a central organizing
feature of the violence: All the assailants were black. Most of the victims were not. More often
than not, they were laughing.
Almost as if it were some kind of game.
The reporters may have missed it, but many of the1200 readers who left comments did
not. Said one: “"Youths","Kids" are just euphemisms for uncivilized violent animals like
Trayvon Martin. They are racist to the core and want nothing more than "revenge" for the way
their ancestors were treated 150 years ago.”
There was even a comment from Reverend Bacon about some kind of game:
“Yes, they usually remember to steal something,
almost as an afterthought, so that their apologists
can claim it was about robbery. In many recent
examples of the knockout game, they have forgotten
to do this.”
This was months before the national media all of a sudden discovered the Knockout
Game.
As difficult as it is for writers for the Washington Post to discover a pattern in this
avalanche of black on white violence, at least one Post scribe figured it out. The racial pattern
part that is.
In a November 2013 story, Washington Post columnist Mary Curtis declared that
figuring out racist intent was easy: Just look at the pattern.
For example, she says people who do not like Barack Obama are not going to come out
and declare they are racist. Or leave a calling card. Or issue a press release.
But if you look at the pattern, then it becomes “A Question of Race,” she said.11
And besides, say an increasing number of black reporters and government officials, white
racism today is often sub-conscious. Including the Attorney General of the United States, Eric
Holder.12
Even so, it’s easy to detect once you know how, Curtis said.
If it is that easy to detect hidden racial animosity buried inside the minds that lurk behind
the closed doors of Congress, how much simpler it has to be with hundreds and hundred of
examples of black mob violence in the streets. Out in the open. Many on video. With many of
the predators bragging about it on Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.

But the same people who look at Emmitt Till in 1955, Trayvon Martin in 2012 and
Michael Ferguson in 2014 and declare this to be irrefutable proof of a pattern of racial violence
also look at hundreds of cases of black mob violence and black on white crime and just shrug
their shoulders. “We are color blind,” they say.
Steve did not see a pattern until he became part of the pattern. He is a resident of
Washington and a victim of racial violence. So are others he knows. His pattern began in
October 2010 right after the John Stewart “Rally to Restore Sanity.”
That was just a few days before the Republican landslide in the congressional elections.
Maybe Stewart’s rally worked. Anyway, let’s get to the victim:
I was walking away from the Jon Stewart event on
the Mall when a girl came up behind me on the
sidewalk on 14th Street and screamed that she had
just been punched by a group of kids.
I turned around to witness a group of 5-10 black
kids colliding with pedestrians and throwing
punches whenever they were confronted. Within a
few seconds, they started pushing me in the back &
when I responded a punch arrived to my throat and
the group started running away when I attempted to
notify police.
Multiple friends refuse to attend events in certain
parts of D.C. including Adams Morgan and
Chinatown where a multitude of attacks have been
perpetrated over the years. There is a persistent air
of racial tension around the city.
I have been attacked several times by gangs of
blacks in D.C. (male & female) over the past few
years.
Soon after, Stewart declared the Knockout Game to be a fear-based figment of white
imaginations. The NBC News black web site The Grio could not have been happier: “John
Stewart mocks media coverage of the Knockout Game.”13
This is the same news organization that declared covering the Knockout Game was
nothing more than “hysteria” that hurt black people.14 Not a word about the victims. Funny how
often that happens — like all the time.
This figment also makes regular stops on the Washington Metro -- another site of
frequent black mob violence. Most of which goes unnoticed by the Washington Post and now,
denied by Jon Stewart. But at least one D.C. outlet thinks it is a story: The UnSuck DC Metro
blog.

I have never been more disgusted or shocked by
what I witnessed Saturday night at the Anacostia
Metro. I went to pick up a family member at the
Metro, and just as she was telling me about the
fights (Yes, plural!) that happened on the Green
Line train [between L'Enfant and Anacostia], we
witnessed a group of 6 to 8 young black teenagers
kick, stomp, punch and push a lone teenage girl.
I could not believe my eyes! I also could not believe
there was not an officer in sight.
When the family member arrived, she had her own story as well:
When she got on the train toward Anacostia, a

physically assault a group of young women. One of
the boys threw a bottle and another threw the
contents of a bottle in one of the woman’s face. The
assaults got so out of hand that some people landed
on a woman and her baby.
The attacking group had the doors to the train
blocked so people couldn’t get off the train. My
cousin told me she was so scared that she hid
behind some seats and pulled out the box cutter she
used for work.
And every time the web site runs another story of racial violence, readers -- often dozens
at a time -- post their most recent encounter with black mob violence in Washington.
Some on video. Such as the two white women attacked by a black mob on the Red Line
in Southeast Washington. No one knows what these two women were doing on that Metro in that
part of Washington. On the video, they told their attackers they “did not want any trouble.”
To the black mob that confronted them, threatened them, beat them and robbed them, it
was no trouble at all. All the while one of the members of the crew was rolling video.16
Did they call it the Knockout Game? Probably not. Did they laugh? Oh yes.
Are more and more people in Washington coming to believe that non-black people are
targets of black mob violence under whatever name reporters choose to ignore this month?
Absolutely.
Now that is a pattern.

Chapter Two.
New York Times Denies the Knockout Game
Walter Duranty Lives. Look him up.
By November 2013, NBC, ABC and other networks were happy to follow the leader:
They produced stories — similar to the New York Times’ denials — detailing the attacks. Then
denying or ignoring that racial violence had anything to do with them.
As much as the Times wishes the Knockout Games were just another urban legend,
here’s the difference: There’s too many videos and witnesses and friends and neighbors and
police reports and others demanding the truth. All wondering why press is so eager to dismiss
these “random” attacks from “unruly teenagers.”
Remember: These are the same reporters who buy in – and create – the paradigm that the
United States is the most race-conscious country on the planet. And that is easy to see: Just pick
up any daily newspaper any day of the week and count the stories about black caucuses, black
colleges, black labor unions, black TV, black radio, black businesses, black products. You get
the picture.
But ask these same reporters about black mob violence and black on white crime and
why newspapers pretend it does not exist, and all of a sudden they want you to know they are
color blind.
I did not create this paradigm. I’m just reporting on its soft underbelly: Racial resentment,
hostility and violence.

As part of the flurry of news stories surrounding the Knockout Game, media outlets
trotted out a psychologist who says ignore the video. Ignore the overwhelming evidence of black
mob violence. There's no pattern in the predators. Or in the white and Asian victims:
"It's hard to excuse this behavior, there's no purpose to this," Jeffrey Butts, a psychologist
specializing in juvenile delinquency, told the AP. "When someone runs into a store and demands
money, you can sort of understand why they're doing it, desperation, whatever.
“But just hitting someone for the sheer thrill of seeing if you can knock someone out is
just childish."
This model of denial of the racial component of black mob violence is popularized in
dozens of seminars around the country every year at local and national chapters of the National
Association of Professional Journalists. Their advice for covering racial violence? Don't.
It also echoes what Jesse Washington, AP's race reporter, told your humble
correspondent about racial violence after the acquittal of George Zimmerman for the killing of
Trayvon Martin. No such thing, quoth he. At least not black on white.
More and more national and local news outlets are picking up the beat: Despite the
avalanche of news stories on the Knockout Game, most still ignore the central organizing feature
of the violence: The attackers are black -- and the victims are not.
Stop the Presses: A white person was involved in a Knockout Game in Philadelphia. And
an Arab played Knockout with a Jew in Brooklyn. So "all" is no longer correct. The new number
is this: 99.98 percent of the attackers are black.
NBC affiliates around the country got into the act as well. After ignoring dozens of recent
examples of black mob violence over the last two years, NBC weighed in with yet another
shrink:
People with Type T personalities, which characterizes risk-takers and thrill-seekers, are
motivated to commit violent acts, like smacking strangers in public, according to Professor of
Educational Pyschology Frank Farley.
"Many of the perpetrators may be these T types and one of their things is pushing the
envelope," Farley told NBC Philadelphia. "It's risky to go up and slap someone in public."
NBC and its witch doctor may be unclear about the level and intensity of racial violence
across the country. But the readers at the Washington Post are not. After a recent story about the
Knockout Game in Washington, they unleashed a storm of critical fire at the paper for refusing
to tell the truth about black mob violence. Here's just one of many comments:
"It is amazing how the Washington Post can report about this phenomenon without the
issue of racial violence coming up one into the discussion. It is a shame that honesty took a back
seat to what is really going on here."
Denying the reality of the Knockout Game is just another example of denying the reality
of racial violence. And that game is even older than Knockout.
Philadelphia is center of denial as well as violence. The City of Brotherly Love has been
the scene of more than 100 episodes of black mob violence over the last three years. Some
resulting in permanent injury and death, many on video. It got so bad that Mayor Michael Nutter

went to a black church to plead with black people to stop the black mob violence – violence he
denied even existed just a few months before.
Black mob violence is also such a regular event at Overbrook High School in
Philadelphia that a school staffer recently appeared on the local CBS affiliate to plead with
parents and police for help with the violence and anarchy that are an everyday part of life at this
black high school:
"It's mayhem. Students are in the halls, they're smoking in the bathroom; cigarettes,
marijuana," said a worker at the school, who asked not to be identified. "We can't contain them
and it's really hazardous for us working and these kids are not being educated at all."
"It's a zoo in here. Parents really need to come up here and see what's going on in this
school because it's ridiculous," said the worker.
The staffers remarks echo earlier comments from 2010, when a federal judge found that
black students at South Philadelphia High School had assaulted and harassed Asian students
daily -- for years.
The principal said she did not call police because she did not want to "criminalize" the
black students.
Even so, the Philadelphia Inquirer dutifully ignores the epidemic of black mob violence
in schools, downtown, and the gentrified South Philadelphia neighborhood.
"But it's unclear if the trend even exists," said the paper this week.
The Inquirer received a Pulitzer for its reporting on violence in Philadelphia schools. But
if you want to learn anything from the series about racial violence, bring your magnifying glass
to read about it -- because most of the time the topic is discussed only to to minimize it. Or say
how much better it is today than before -- when the Inquirer ignored it even more completely.
The upward trend of racial harmony was not clear to Steve Huber when he wrote an
article for Philadelphia Magazine titled "Being White in Philly." Huber talked about the
unrelenting racial violence and the fear it creates among white people.
Mayor Nutter said the article was "disgusting" and called for an investigation by the
City's Human Rights Commission.
The Philadelphia Inquirer, again, took a back seat on racial crime and violence: The
article was seen as "dwelling on negative experiences that whites had with blacks that often fit
into racial stereotypes."
Racial Journalism 101: Crime statistics are stereotypes. But leave them out and the story
is "anecdotal." Best not to do anything. Class dismissed.
Marlin Newburn has seen and experienced black mob violence and black on white crime
from many different angles: As a Detroit college student. A court appointed psychologist. A
prison psychologist. He recently retired from 30 years in the criminal justice system, up close
and personal with racial violence like the Knockout Game.
"The media's claim of racial non-discrimination borders on a comic-tragedy," Newburn
said. "The simple response to their efforts to protect the Black Grievance Industry's false
message is to note the race of the victims. From working with black felons over the years, one

learns they share two common traits: Perpetuate the fantasy of black victimhood by the hands of
whites, and to always be race loyal. Victims are chosen by race and ease of assault."
Thus the pattern where there is "no pattern."
In St. Louis, where the Knockout Game first gained popularity, a prosecutor said one
man alone was responsible for 300 cases of the Knockout Game.17 Today, she’s not sure if that
predator was telling the truth. What if he only did 10 percent of that? That is still a lot.
But The Times ignored that. Just like the Times would later ignore Philadelphia judge
Wayne Bennett who said ‘hell yes black on white violence exists: White people deserve it.’18 A
view point repeated on the Bill Maher show in September 201419 – and many times in between.
Racial resentment and hostility are now mainstream. And when reporters encounter it,
they shrug their shoulders and try to pretend it is something other than what it is.
They even ignored Al Sharpton when he admitted it existed.20
Newspaper editors and reporters say stories about black mob violence are examples of
the “fallacy of stacking data” because they say in a big country, you can find anything you want
happening all the time. Cherry picking.
But people who present statistics of the astronomical levels of black crime are accused of
stereotyping. Profiling.
Either way, the result is the same: Ignore. Deny. And when overwhelmed with evidence,
excuse, explain and even encourage.
Following The Times formula, reporters produced stories like this one in November 2013
in Philadelphia, where the local NBC affiliate reported on another example of the Knockout
Game without citing its central organizing feature: The race of the attacker. And the race of the
victim.
I can hear the editors now: “Colin, you don’t have any evidence that the central
organizing feature of this attack is race.”
Me: “I didn’t have that evidence for the first one. Or second. Or tenth. But now that we
are in the hundreds, I’m starting to detect a pattern.”
Them: Crickets.
Back to Philly as the NBC affiliate picks up the story:21
The male victim was riding his bike along the 900
block of Catherine Street in the Bella Vista section
of the city just before 8 p.m. on Friday when he was
randomly punched by a group of teens, police said.

After being hit, police say the cyclist asked the
group -- made up of five teen boys and three teen
girls -- why they hit him. Without answering, the
group then continued beating the man.
Usually the attackers are more verbose. In a different attack, when the victim asked the
same question, one of the attackers stopped beating and laughing long enough to explain: “It’s
not our fault you can’t fight.”22
First things first on this bike attack: The attack was not random. The attackers were
black. The victim was white. Fitting a pattern of dozens of cases of black mob violence in
Philadelphia over the last two years.
In 2013, Demetrius Murphy, one of those accused in a notorious St. Louis Knockout
Game, was shot and killed trying to break into a St. Louis home. He was 15. His grandfather
compared Demetrius to Trayvon Martin, and said despite his criminal history he was a good boy
and never wanted to hurt anyone.23
To their credit, the St. Louis media reminded people that Murphy was one of the accused
on trial for playing the Knockout Game -- the mayor stumbled on his victim -- when the main
witness disappeared.
The judge was forced to dismiss the most notorious case of the Knockout Game in St.
Louis. The mayor called it witness tampering. The accused laughed. The victim worried they
would come back. They did. And threatened him.
Marvell Weaver has a different story. One which has plenty of “street cred.” Weaver got
famous in 2013 when he invented a new twist on the Knockout Game: Use a taser.
Weaver jammed a taser -- KL-800 Type Stun Gun capable of generating 1.8 million volts
-- into the ribs of a man waiting for his daughter at a school bus stop. Weaver pulled the trigger.
Nothing happened.

The predator then became the victim: The object of Weaver’s aborted taser blast pulled a
.40 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver and then something did happen: He shot Weaver as he
tried to escape to the getaway van where two of his accomplices waited.
According to MLive.com:24
“Weaver ran, sat down across the street, his leg
going numb, bleeding. Pleading.
“‘I’m sorry, please don’t kill me, I don’t know why I
did that, I’m high you know, I just wanna go
home,’” the teen told the man who had just shot
him.”
From his jail cell, Weaver contributed to an on-line forum that asked, “have you played
the knockout game?25
“I played about 6 or 7 times but the last time was
my last. Decided to taze the poor fella then shortly
after got shot 2 times. I’m in jail for a year but I’m a
changed man now.”
He also talks about it on video.26
ABC News took the denial to a new level over the same weekend when it reported that a
Denver man was one of the “first people in that city to be a victim of the "knockout" game.”
This contradicts earlier reports of similar racial violence that rocked Denver in 2009 and
2011. It took a while, but the black mob violence eventually became so blatant and so public that
even the ABC affiliate could not ignore it any more. Maybe the part where the predators are
sharing their feelings gave away the game: “I fucking hate white people,” said one during an
attack.
Here’s a portion of that report:27
A couple dozen arrest warrant affidavits unsealed
Friday offer chilling insights into the 26 raciallymotivated “blitz attacks,” which stretched from July
17 to Nov. 17.
One unidentified suspect told police “that the
members of his gang earn status in the gang by
beating up ‘white dudes,’” according to court
records. He added that the gangs targeted “drunk
white guys,” exiting bars and nightclubs in the
entertainment district.
The suspects allegedly bragged about knocking out
white victims with one punch to the head. Victims

lying on the ground were “stomped” and even tossed
through glass windows.
Targeting white people for violence then bragging about it? And local reporters thought
this was not important enough to mention when it returned in 2014?
Come on, man.
In its Denver report, NBC trotted out the same experts as the other national news outlets,
saying the Knockout Games probably did not even exist. And if they did, they certainly had
nothing to do with race. They also came up with a solution: “Juvenile delinquency experts say a
good punishment for these teens would be empathy training, such as volunteering at a homeless
shelter.”28
Anyone else think it is strange for so many people to try and solve a problem they say
does not even exist? Anyone think it is strange that reporters do not even ask that question?
Let’s do a laundry list -- however incomplete -- of some recent Knockout Game attacks.
But first, let’s start with some of the bigger denials.

Every Knockout Game is followed by loads of denials. Not from the perps – they often
brag about it on Facebook or Twitter or Instagram. But from the suits in the newsrooms and city
halls who ignore, condone and deny they ever happened.
And for our purposes, the denials are more interesting than the acts of racial violence
because the deniers are the crazy ones.
Setting the tone, of course, is the New York Times, lettings its acolytes know the
Knockout Game is more of a myth than a spreading menace.29
The NPR denial of the Knockout Game was true to form: Set up some weirdly ridiculous
conditions, then blame crazy conservatives when this mythical game does not meet their nonexistent guidelines. But there are thousands of flies in this smug ointment: An NPR producer is
just one of the many victims who has spoken out about the Knockout Game. 30
A family court judge in Philadelphia, Wayne Bennett, took denials of racial violence and
the Knockout Game to a new level. He did not deny their reality, he just denied that black on
white crime was a bad thing.31 He said white people deserve it.
Line ‘em up: Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times, USA Today, Newsday,
John Stewart and many of the rest of the usual suspects: Nothing happening here. Lining them up
is probably the best way to see them:

necessary.33 And don’t forget the original classic: White Girls Bleed a Lot. And so do black
boys.

who alternate between being the biggest victims and the biggest deniers.

More and more papers are having a harder and harder time convincing their readers to
ignore racial violence. Here’s how one newspaper tries: How to discuss racial issues on MLive
without violating the Community Rules | MLive.com39
An example: “If the suspect is black, we may see comments that try to impugn all of
"black culture" or all residents of a certain city. Examples include: "You can take the kid out of
Detroit but you can't take the Detroit out of the kid." Or: "It is NO coincidence that the vast
majority of those incarcerated, are of African American descent. Their culture promotes this kind
of "thuggish" behavior." These types of generalizations do not promote constructive dialogue.”
And they get removed.
Larry Elder figured it out: “From a distance, the media can spot some lone idiot holding
up an offensive sign at a tea party rally. But when it comes to black perp/white victim crime,
there is a very different attitude.”

Chapter Four.
The Fatal “Prank:” Knockout Game in New Jersey
Ha. Ha. Ha: You are dead.
Seven Days in November.
By November 2013, more and more people in the media had to start admitting there was
something out there called the Knockout Game. That did not stop them from continuing their
denial that race had anything to do with it.
The CBS affiliate in New York had a different name for it: Teenage “prank.”50
Whatever the term, Ralph Santiago is dead -- just another nameless, faceless victim of
what police call unprovoked assaults from black people on non-black people.
The teenage prank on Santiago took place September 10, 2013, but the real damage was
done in an identical attack 27 years ago. A group of black people stalked and beat Santiago near
his Bronx home, leaving this father, gymnast and artist with brain damage; unable to do anything
but wander the streets in a permanent fog.51
Even so, sometimes the 46-year- old Santiago was a happy man. A religious man. But on
the streets, a vulnerable man.
That is what three black people from Jersey City who arrived in Hoboken via the Light
Rail discovered that afternoon. The CBS affiliate provides a few details:
“Santiago was followed by the three teens while
walking on 3rd Street between Adams and Jefferson
Streets in Hoboken on Sept. 10 when one of the
juveniles threw a punch at Santiago’s head in what
detectives believe was a game of “knockout.”

Santiago then collapsed onto the fence, wedging his
neck between two iron fence posts, where he died,
the prosecutor said.”
The alleged perpetrators turned themselves in when a video of them surfaced after the
attack. They are in custody and charged with murder.
Ten days before that, Jesse Downs was heading to his home in the suburbs of Boston
when he came upon a group of black people at 2 p.m. Downs had left work early to get a head
start on the Labor Day weekend. His girlfriend, Melissa Merrill, told the Eagle Tribune she just
happened to be driving by when she saw Downs sitting on the curb, covered in blood.52
“He kept asking me, ‘Why did they jump me?’”
Merrill said of how Downs reacted immediately
after the attack. “He still had his money and
paycheck on him. They didn’t touch it.
“They attacked him right in broad daylight, in the
middle of the sidewalk,” Merrill said. “They jumped
him from behind and beat him in his head for no
reason.”
WHDH reports the suspects were "hitting (the victim) in the face and head." And that one
of the suspects "...slammed him on his head on the pavement."
After three brain surgeries, Downs is still in the hospital, unresponsive. His survival is
still in question. Two men have been charged with assault and witness intimidation.

Witness intimidation? Oh yes, that happens so much in black mob violence and black
crime that at least one district attorney called it an epidemic.53 And while you try to get your
head around this enormous threat to the criminal justice system, also think about what witness
intimidation does to the reported level of black crime.
Statistically, it makes a good chunk of it disappear. As if it never happened. And all this
on top of black crime rates that are already astronomically out of proportion. Look for way more
on that in my next book and e-book.
The weekend before that, in Syracuse, Jim Gifford was beginning his Saturday the way
he started every day: He walked to the local 7-11 for a newspaper, donuts, coffee and a can of
soup. At 6:08 a.m., the 70-year- old Gifford was confronted by “five or six men” in their 20’s.
“Award winning columnist Sean Kirst” of the local paper reports: “Two of them began
striking and kicking Gifford. The beating continued after he fell to the ground.”54
Kirst quotes the local police as saying it “is too early to describe it as an example of the
"knockout game," a chilling national trend involving anonymous attacks.”
Later that week, police arrested Romeo Williams and charged him with assault. Williams
had a pending felony weapons charge outstanding. According to Syracuse.com:
At a press conference before Williams' arraignment,
Syracuse Police Chief Frank Fowler said Williams
celebrated inside the convenience store after he
knocked Gifford unconscious. He continued beating
the unconscious man after the brief celebration,
according to police.
The papers present lots of details save two: The assailants were black. And that kind of
violence had been happening there a long time. No news about what, if any, charges the others at
the attack will face.
Kirst did remind his readers that a similar attack took place in Syracuse last spring.
Curiously, he reported that two people were arrested, though as many as a dozen black people
were present at that attack where a 51-year- old man died.
Probably just forgot.

Chapter Five.
California Knockout Game: The Liberal Librarian
This can’t be happening. Not to me. I like Obama.
“I kill all the white people in the movie. How great is that.”56

Before his encounter with the Knockout Game, Paul Lane was “a lefty. As left as you can
get,” he said. He supported Obama. Intends to vote for Hillary. Or least he did.
That was before November 7, 2013. The day everything changed for Paul. The day
Kenneth Johnson walked into the Contra Costa library and played the Knockout Game. 57
With the New York Times-reading, liberal-loving, Obama-voting, brie-eating, white
wine-drinking, Northern California librarian.
“It was 2:49 in the afternoon,” said Lane. “And this black guy, I won’t say he was a kid,
he was 21 years old, comes into the room in the library. I was helping a 67-year -old guy with
history and old movies, because I know that stuff. He was smiling as if he knew the guy I was
helping. Then he -- Johnson -- walks up to the patron and hits him on the side of the head as hard
as he can.”
Three weeks later, in court, when Lane told his story, Johnson’s lawyer objects: ‘The
witness doesn’t know how hard my client can hit,’ said the lawyer.
Back to the library: Lane was about to find out. He yelled at Johnson to stop hitting the
patron. He did. Then he jumped over Lane’s desk and starting hitting and kicking him. It got real
bloody real fast.
“So the guy jumps over the library desk and started beating me. And hits me about 20 or
25 times. I can't remember exactly cause I’m kinda blocked out a bit. Yeah he really whaled into
me. He decked the patron with one punch. He hit me in ear. In the side of the head. The top of
the head. I was bleeding from the nose, eyes, mouth, ears.”
Lane crawled into the other room and asked for help. Then it was over. Later, the
newspapers would say the injuries were non-life threatening. Which of course depends on how

you define life: The library walls were spattered with blood. Lane cannot pick up a book, let
alone think about going back to work. He has headaches and “major concussion issues.”
And other issues, maybe even bigger:
“I'm a 58- year- old white man who work(ed) as a "liberal Librarian" in Northern
California,” he said. “Not your typical WND reader, but as a research Librarian I read a lot of
news sources. And this attack was exactly the way you describe in your book and articles.
Exactly the same.”
Lane was referring to White Girl Bleed a Lot.
Johnson left the library the same way he arrived: His mother drove him. But in their rush
to get away, first they could not start their car. Then Kenneth insisted on taking the wheel. His
erratic driving made him easy to find. Within 30 minutes he was in police custody.
Then the real games began. Ralph Malatesta knows them well. Two years ago, he was the
victim of a similar attack 3000 miles away in Delaware. The police caught his attackers,
bloodied and bruised at his hands, after Malatesta refused to turn over his money.
“It turns out they had been on a robbery spree in that neighborhood for weeks,” said
Malatesta. “And five people were willing to press charges. But every time it came up for a trial,
we would all show up in court, but the robbers asked for a continuance. So the five other people
got sick of the delay and stopped showing up. But I stuck with it and they were eventually
convicted.”
Kenneth Johnson and his lawyer are using the same playbook. So far, they have delayed
the court proceedings at least twice. But that doesn’t matter to Lane. “They cancelled it to see if I
would really show up the next time. I did. It’s very exhausting and I do not have any stamina as a
result of the beating. But I’m not giving up.”

Meanwhile, in the local papers, police say they want help with the case. Especially the
motive. They just can’t figure out why Johnson did what he was alleged to have done. Why
anyone would.
Maybe they should call former Michigan prison psychologist Marlin Newburn. He spent
30 years in the criminal justice system learning about motives and racial violence. And hatred.
Up close and personal. He has seen a lot of this: The violence is about hate. And the hate is about
race. Let’s give Newburn a listen:
To people who practice this type of racial violence,
all non-blacks are the enemy since they were
weaned on the idea that
whites/Asians/Hispanics/Martians were "keeping
my people down."
They may be functionally illiterate, and I have yet
to meet one that wasn't, but their older family
members or people in their neighborhood along
with the popular culture drove that early message
into their skulls.
They believe that they have some black toxic-tribal
license to attack, and the more brutal, the more
"down with the struggle" they are. The degree of
viciousness also demonstrates just how manly (or
womanly) they are. In other words, the more
sadistic, the higher the social and personal power
status.
It's also great street cred for them, the sacred status
for assaulting the all-pervasive and imaginary white
power structure, and in regard to Asians and
Hispanics, those people are just "takin' jobs" from
them.
The people who practice this kind of racial violence
-- like the Knockout Game -- have imaginary, social
injustice tags as legitimate reasons to assault all
non-blacks.
To say the black assaults on non-blacks isn't racist
is a blatant lie. Black predators are racist to the
bone. Most all live the part in prison.
As Lane’s case winds through the system, Lane is keeping an eye on all the media
coverage the Knockout Game is receiving all over the country. He has a hard time believing
what he is reading -- and hearing. “I listen to left wing radio,” he says. “And I could not believe
it when I heard my favorite radio personality -- Stephanie Miller -- said the Knockout Game does
not exist. That’s crazy.”

Lane’s entire life is upside down. He and his wife are moving to a safer place. He
probably won’t be able to return to work. At least for a while.
“I can’t get beat again,” he says. “I’ll die. I'm a liberal Obama supporter but that didn't
stop the violence on me. I have serious concussion issues and my trust for young African
American men in particular is now less than zero.”

More Knockout Game.
Round Two
Reporters still mock the Knockout Game. Still try to ignore the pandemic of black on
white violence.
But videos and victims just keep showing up -- let’s go to January 2014, starting in
Philadelphia. 58
A white boy was walking home from school when two black people attacked him. A
third captured it on video: As they shrieked and laughed, the black people punched, and kicked
him over and over, eventually knocking him down.
The boy did not report the crime to police. They learned about it from the CBS news
affiliate.

The ABC news affiliate in Philadelphia was all over it too. 59 Most of it, anyway: “Teens”
did it, the news crew dutifully reported. “Police now say two suspects have been arrested and
investigators are looking for a third. They also say this definitely appears to be a part of the socalled Knockout Game.”
Police say the boy suffered only “minor” injuries.
And that is part of the problem says Taleeb Starkes, author of The Uncivil War.
“If you look at the news accounts of these kinds of crimes, the police and press tell us this
was not a major crime,” said Starkes. “There was not much money involved. The victim lived.
But one of the reasons these crimes happen so much is that we take them so lightly. This kind of
violent crime is life-changing and traumatic to the victim. But we rarely treat the predators that
way. If they lose a little money and no one gets hurt, its no harm, no foul. That has to change.”
In the meantime in Philadelphia another video surfaced of another Knockout Game. Also
featuring a black assailant and a white victim. Also unreported to police.60

These are just a few of the dozens of cases of the Knockout Game and black on white
violence in Philadelphia over the last two months of 2013 and first month of 2014.
“For someone to walk down the street and do this, this is not something new,” said a
police spokesman to ABC. “From their demeanor and their overall actions, this is something that
you can just about bet they have been involved in before.”
Oh yeah: This has been happening a long time.
Also in January in Seattle, another city that experiences regular and frequent cases of
black mob violence, KIRO TV news reports one neighborhood experienced a “string of
seemingly random attacks by teenagers.”61
The news station does not state what the police reports do: The suspects are black.
“A woman was just a block from her home when she was punched in the back of her
head by teenagers,” said the reporter. “Right in front of this Ethiopian church.”
“This might be the third recent attack that was about violence more than anything else,”
said the station.
Two days before a group of teens “ransacked and terrorized” a Rite Aid drug store
nearby. Then they attacked another person a few blocks away.”
“Maybe somebody was daring them,” said Kathy Bell, a neighbor. “They’re just
teenagers.”
Where do people come up with these explanations? No, scratch that: Why do they?
In New Orleans, a well-known local musician is in a coma after he was attacked by a
group of black people on January 20, 2013. He was not robbed and “Doug Potter's family and
friends believe he may have been a target of the "knockout" game,” said WWL TV.62
Police have video of the attack and of the suspects strolling and strutting away from the
scene. WWL TV in New Orleans did identify the suspects by race. But the reporter did wonder
why the musician was the object of the “senseless attack.”63

New Orleans is a hot mess and getting hotter. In the summer of 2014, the local papers
were full of attacks: Black on white, often mobs. Let’s look at a few, often reported by a local
activist who is actually fighting crime like some kind of Super Hero. He goes by the moniker
Cap Black:
In the summer of 2014, the Wall Street Journal did a story about how Cap Black led an
effort to get the charges dropped against a white homeowner who shot a black burglar.64
The initially reluctant District Attorney saw the light when the burglar --whom friends
and neighbors say was an angel that was permanently damaged by the gunshot -- was caught
burglarizing again.
Now cometh Cap Black with two more stories in just a few days of racial violence in the
gentrified hood in July 2014: An art teacher is walking home when a black mob set upon him
and beat him. NOLA.com picks up the details:
"I saw what was going to happen, and I ran," (the victim) Brumfield said. "But they had
me on the ground before I could get there. They ripped my pants down. They stomped on my
feet while I was trying to get away."
He fought back, wielding his house keys. But it didn't help. "They kept dragging me back
- into the dark. I thought they were going to kill me," he said. "It was like they had a plan, and I
just happened to be the person who walked up. . . . It's the closest thing I've ever felt to true evil."
At one point, he locked eyes with the boy he recognized from now-closed Drew
Elementary. "He looked me straight in the eye, and there was nothing there," he said. 65
And oh yeah, said neighbors, another happened just a few days before. And a few days
before. And a few days before that ...
How about a little context on the art teacher from Cap Black: White people in black
neighborhoods are targets.
“This moment of White benevolence was moot as they locked eyes during the mass
assault. It also graphically illustrates the ( often bloody ) limits of such benevolence in
neighborhoods where it’s a form of masochism.

“Liberal White folks, would-be " urban pioneers, " plant their progressive or rainbow
colored flags on ground controlled by people who see them as targets, not neighbors nor allies
against the system. The victim of this recent crime learned this lesson the hardest of all hard
ways possible. Racial payback animates these outrages and no amount of progressive double
speak or bouts of White guilt will change this stark fact.”
“Pale skin cannot change this deadly dynamic by osmosis. It's delusional and racist to
think otherwise.”
In New Orleans, the neighborhoods near the French Quarter define gentrification. Heck,
the whole city is being gentrified following the exodus after Hurricane Katrina. Remember the
Mayor who assured black residents they did not have to worry about white people taking over
after all the white people move in to put their town back together?
He said New Orleans will always be a “Chocolate City.”
Now even the newspapers are having a hard time ignoring the epic levels of black
violence in these new racially mixed neighborhoods. From July, 2014: 66
Will Ford and Tim Swartzentruber said they have
lived in the neighborhood for nearly five years, but
after being attacked by three gunmen who robbed
them Sunday, and hearing the stories of friends and
colleagues who have suffered similar fates, they say
they no longer feel safe.
"It's really sad, but I'm thinking this might be the
last straw," Swartzentruber said. "I hate feeling
afraid in my own neighborhood. It's just awful."
Four people were victims of armed robberies or
attempted robberies in the Marigny last week,
according to police reports. An additional three
armed robberies were reported in nearby streets in
the French Quarter during the same time.
And oh yeah, during the same time, a film director visiting his sick mother made the
mistake of thinking he could walk home through this same gentrified area. He was attacked,
beaten, taunted, hurt bad.
He waited a month to report it. He did not think anyone would care.
Vice.com prides itself on ballsy coverage of difficult issues. They use they word “shitty”
in headlines. So you know they are brave. But brave enough to connect the dots and call out the
black criminals and the activist pimps who enable them?
Not a chance.67 Their coverage mirrors lots of discussions about black mob violence
around the country. For the first ten minutes, lots of people are upset and want to do something
about it. But on minute 11, someone always stands up and points out they have to do something
about what is causing all these earth angels to create all this havoc.

So they spend the next three hours, days, weeks, months, years talking about
unemployment, poverty, jobs, schools, fathers, mothers, you name it. And they forget all about
the violence. Until the next one, where they spend ten minutes ….
I get into this more in my next book, but while the earnest white liberals held encounter
groups about urban problems, black people moved away from that: Today, it is all about white
racism. All those people at all those meetings? They are part of the problem. Not the solution.
Let’s get back on the bus and check out some more Knockout Games and black on white
crime:
In the Indianapolis suburb of Lawrence, police are appealing for help in the January 4th,
2014 slaying of a white college student. The victim was getting gas when a car full of black
people pulled up, got out, and were seen trying to break into his car, before they shot him in the
head.68
Local TV news stations report the assailants were black. But the Indianapolis Star News
refused to repeat that description from police reports, saying, “Police do not have detailed
descriptions of the suspects.”
Call it the Indianapolis Star Ruling: Absent DNA tests, video confessions, and a
notarized note from their mommies, newspapers shall not report that a pattern of black mob
violence exists. In their town.
And now we have the Auxiliary: When people ask what the predators looked like, just
say you don’t have “detailed descriptions.” There’s a lot of that going around too.
The dead boy’s parents told local news reporters they cannot figure out why anyone
would want to hurt their son. Which is what the family and friends and victims of the Knockout
Game always ask — unless they read White Girl Bleed a Lot.
As Roan Ciardi did in Syracuse:
“While on my lunch break this week, I read Colin Flaherty’s WND story on the Syracuse
man who died from the malicious “Knockout Game” – in which black youth search for and beat a
lone white person. I thought to myself, God cannot come back soon enough.”

“I then thought how I would feel if this happened to anyone in my family or, heaven
forbid, one of my children. Well, now I know: The same day, around 4 p.m., my son called me
from a friend’s house with his voice shaking as he described to me EXACTLY what I had just
read about in Flaherty’s article.”69
Unlike Ciardi, most victims of the Knockout Game are not experts on the Knockout
Game. They are often puzzled and deny the game has any racial angle.
Sound harsh: It is meant to be: Meant to point a finger at the media and public officials
who know this is happening but refuse to say so. And let a kid go into a gas station where he has
no business being. Where no cops would let their children go at that time of night.
In Los Gatos, California, the ever-plucky Patch reports black on white violence from
January 2014:
"The Knockout game has hit Los Gatos. This evening on Blossom Hill Road, in front of
Dance Attack, a woman was punched by an African American man who escaped up Harwood
towards Belgatos Park. In response, reader Luigi Casaretto said: "This nonsense has to stop. My
friend's daughter was a victim in Milpitas last week."70
In Flint, Michigan, police are seeking three black people in the Knockout Game assault
on a white bus driver that happened in the final week of January near Martin Luther King
Boulevard.
Police originally said the incident occurred because one of the suspects was upset about
having to pay a bus fare, but further investigation showed it was a planned attack, said Flint
police Capt. Collin Birnie to MLive.com. "This was planned, orchestrated and filmed," he said.
"The assault on the MTA bus driver, you've heard it referred to nationwide as the knockout
game. That's exactly what we had."71
The bus driver “has a number of broken bones on his face,” said the local ABC affiliate,
that required "major" facial surgery.
On January 17, gay Asian journalist Randy Gener was punched in the face on the streets
of Manhattan. He remains in a coma. Police are not calling it a hate crime. 72
After the attack, police released a sketch of the suspect whom they described as Hispanic.
A few days later, Leighton Jennings was arrested for assault in connection with the crime. He is
black. On his Facebook page he posted a picture of himself beneath a sign that says “Real
Nigga.”73
That was in addition to more traditional poses of Leighton Jennings in the black thug life:
smoking pot, flashing gang signs and displaying large amounts of money.
All the victims or their families wondered why anyone would commit such violence.
Never once considering -- at least publicly -- that racial animosity might have something to do
with the pattern of racial violence.
Barry Baldwin stands accused of six Knockout Game attacks in New York in November
and December. Five of the victims were Jewish women. One was 78-years old.74
Baldwin, a 35-year old black man, offered a series of excuses for the violence, said the
New York Daily News: “I hit her on the head in self-defense because of the way she looked.”

This should gladden the heart of Casey Seiler, an Albany reporter who dismissed racial
violence documented in White Girl Bleed a Lot by saying a “riot has no color.” But then objected
that White Girl Bleed a Lot does not take into account the “tangled sociological reasons for those
statistics, such as the economic and cultural aftereffects of hundreds of years of white racism.”
All that for violence that has no color.
Now Seiler is at it again. This time in a story about proposed legislation in New York
state to increase penalties for the Knockout Game. From his lofty perch atop the state capitol
bureau for the Albany Times Union, Seiler reminded readers that the Knockout Game probably
does not exist. Or if it does, it has nothing to do with race: “Whether the game is a baleful youth
phenomenon or media hype depends on whom you talk to.”
With crystalline reasoning like that, Seiler is being wasted in Albany. That dude belongs
at The Times.

Knockout Game Just Keeps Rolling Along March
2014
It just won’t stop. Don’t tell The Times.
The Knockout Game just keeps rolling along.
Five months after the New York Times said this spontaneous racial violence was an
urban myth; four months after NPR admitted it happened once in a while but race had nothing to
do with it; three months after CBS News said maybe it was happening after all; two months after
a Philadelphia family court judge said racial violence exists because white people deserve it; and
one month after CNN said the Knockout Game fad was over, victims and videos and witnesses
and suspects just keep piling up.
Many in a ten-day period in March 2014. But many in the media still refuse to connect
the dots and report the central organizing feature of the Knockout Game: The perpetrators are
black. The victims are not.
These cases happened in March 2014: The lead sentence from WOKV tells the story:
“The "Knock Out" game has officially come to Jacksonville.”75
This time the victim was disabled. He was at a service station, supporting himself with a
cane and filling his car with gas when Kevin Kejuan Johnson allegedly punched him in the face.
Police arrested Johnson this week after identifying him from video and getting a “search warrant
for his phone which they say reveals multiple videos of juveniles walking up to unsuspecting
individuals and punching them.”
What? Yep, that happened: He had lots of videos of other attacks on his cell phone. So I
guess the Knockout Game has been around a lot longer -- it’s just that the local media missed it.
Intentionally or not.
I wish I could say they had an excuse, but by the time this story happened, each and every
crime and political reporter in America had received several communications from your humble
correspondent and his readers.

All saying the same thing: Knockout Game is real. And it's here. In your town too.
So to ignore it, then all of a sudden come in on the middle of it and say it is just
beginning -- when even the perps show it has been happening a while -- well, I cannot tell if that
is shameless or disingenuous.
Discuss amongst yourselves.
Oh yeah, the attack: The victim said Johnson was one of several black people playing the
game.
In August 2014, it happened again: This time with a twist: A group of black people
approached a middle-aged white dude and asked him if was carrying a “Glock.”
He said no.
They began beating him. Then he wised up: “Fearing that the boy would continue to hit
him until he was unconscious, the man grabbed at a folding knife that he had tucked into his
waistband and pretended to have a gun. The boys fled, and the man enlisted the help of his
neighbor to search for the boys.”76
Back to March: On the day after St. Patrick’s Day in Riverhead, New York, home of
Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, an elderly woman with scoliosis was knocked to the ground while
carrying an armful of groceries. The violence provoked fits of laughter from the attacker and his
friends. Police are calling it the Knockout Game.77
A few days before, 30 miles away in Brentwood, Long Island, police arrested three black

people for the Knockout Game attack on an elderly Hispanic immigrant woman. Police say
Qwatese Jarvis and his two friends allegedly pushed her to the ground, then punched and kicked
her. 78
The woman has broken bones and her sister says she is afraid to leave her house, has
nightmares and cannot return to work.
At least one viewer of local TV news, Megan Rivera, did not like how some people said
this violence was racial or was another example of the Knockout Game. She explained to Long
Island channel 12 that: “The New York Times already stated this is a myth perpetrated on the
black youth community by white old racists,” she said.79
I love that quote.
The week before in Hope, Arkansas, birthplace of Bill Clinton, a 13-yearold girl was
“the victim of a Knock Out Game” at a local middle school, said HopePrescott.com. According
to the news site, the 15-year-old suspect -- in the presence of several other people - punched the
girl in her face at school, knocking her to the ground. Knocking her out. She suffered a fractured
jaw, concussion and ligament damage.80
Police arrested four black people when the next day they showed up at the home of the
victim’s boyfriend, threatening him with violence too.
In downtown Darien, Conn., that same week, a businessman was walking to his office
when a “dark-skinned man” crossed the street to ask him a question. “The attacker then jumped
him and punched him in the eye, knocking him to the ground and also injuring his right hand,”
said the Darien Times.81
Like police administrators in New York City, police in Darien are not calling this a
Knockout Game because they say this kind of racial violence does not exist. In the meantime, if
this “dark skinned” assailant turns out to be from India, we have a huge story on our hands.
In Kansas City, two days after St. Patrick’s Day, “two teens set out to videotape one of
them sucker punching a man, and that man told police he was a victim of the notorious knockout
game,” said KCTV 5 News. “Staff members said the same teen sucker-punched an older man in
the same spot earlier that day.”82
Police are looking for the second victim and say the attacks were probably not examples
of the Knockout Game because they insist that type of thing does not happen there.
That is not what one Kansas City mother is telling KSHB news in the aftermath of the
latest Knockout Game: “Sophia Washington said groups of teens have beaten up her children
like this dozens of times. Recently, one group shot at her home.”
Oops.
Kansas City is the site of regular and frequent black mob violence at the downtown
Country Club Plaza and more recently this week at the local zoo. Even so, one viewer of KCTV
was indignant that anyone would comment that the attackers were black. And that it had
happened before.83
“Cut it out with already debunked lies of Faux News about a knock out game,” said one
commenter on the station’s web site. “Sensationalism and fear mongering at its worst. I pity you

racists and self-righteously clueless unfortunate souls. How about you report something uplifting
and worthwhile?”
We just showed that the stories are true -- by a factor of what ... 5 or 10 or 20, say the
victims. And he still wants to play the ‘this is not happening card.’
To paraphrase the liberal Adlai Stevenson: You quit lying about us. We’ll stop telling the
truth about you.

Happy Memorial Day 2014
Let the racial violence begin.
Black Beach Week used to get all the glory: Every Memorial Day weekend for more than
a decade, 300,000 black people gathered in Miami Beach to get their freak on. And also create a
tsunami of violence, robbery, shootings, carjackings, vandalism, mayhem, noise and trash.
Always mountains of trash. None of it in trash cans.
But in 2014, many party-goers complained that Black Beach Week -- only reporters call
it “Urban Beach Week” -- just wasn’t as much fun any more: Too many cops, too many tactical
vehicles, too many helicopters, too many lights, too many towers, too many cameras, too much
suspicion. Not enough chaos.
And there is no doubt that art deco capital of America is at least temporarily turned into
an armed camp for Black Beach Week.
Not to worry: The rest of the country picked up the slack. Black mob violence over the
holiday weekend was reported in more than a dozen cities around the country. Some fatal. Some
comical. All relentless.
Let’s take a tour, starting with Cincinnati: Four days after scattered reports of black mob
violence during the Memorial Day Taste of Cincinnati, local police and media figured out just
how violent their annual holiday event was.

“General mayhem,” said one police Captain.
One of the first victims was the son of the local district attorney. He and his girlfriend
were helping his sister back her car out of tight parking space when a group of black people
punched him, knocked him to the ground and kicked him. He had a concussion. When his
girlfriend suggested that was not a good idea, they beat her too.
Police caught the aftermath on video.
The local CBS affiliate was the first to get the inkling something was wrong, very wrong.
They started reporting Wednesday night that the DA’s son was just the tip of the iceberg.

I fully recognize that the word “iceberg” may be outside the cultural frame of reference
for many readers who live South of the North Pole. Or North of the South Pole.
Much like the school superintendent said about peanut butter and jelly. I’ll do better, I
promise.
Back to Cincy: “There were other victims that night. David Manz was catching a bus near
the courthouse to get to his night shift at Dunkin Donuts. He says about 20 black teenage girls
attacked him and were in on the punching, kicking and stomping. He suffered bruises, scrapes
and broken ribs.”
They were laughing and having a good time, almost as if it were some kind of game.
“That gave them enjoyment,” he said.
A member of a gay country western dance group reported that members of his club were
also victims of racial violence. “Three of our CRW friends were also attacked and assaulted on
Sunday May 25th 2014 @ 10:00 PM.,” said Tim of the Cincinnati Rivertown Wranglers. “They
were jumped and thrown out into the street at Central Pkwy and Walnut. The violence against
them was also unprovoked and seemed to be racially motivated as the black teenagers were
selecting white victims as people passed by.”
But black mob violence and the Knockout Game was just getting started then. Before it
was over, there would be a shooting, robbings, numerous assaults and even “teens” throwing
rocks at police.
Curiously, the station that first reported the racial violence did not want much to do with
the story: “By most accounts, it was a successful weekend for the city of Cincinnati,” said the
CBS affiliate news anchor, introducing the first report of the chaos.
Other than that, the play was just fine, Mrs. Lincoln.
We could linger on Cincinnati, with lots more details of racial violence over the
Memorial Day weekend. But we have a lot more to cover. Before we move on, let’s just say this:
The most difficult part of reporting racial violence in Cincinnati -- and lots of other places -- is
looking into the camera and trying to pretend this is not a regular feature of life there. Because it
is.
Next stop Chicago. There was almost nothing in the local press about it, but the popular
police blog, Second City Cop, is reporting black mob violence all over the city’s downtown over
the weekend.

“If anyone listened to zone 4 last night they would have heard that the boyfriend of a
young couple was hospitalized after getting the shit beat out of him at Van Buren and State by a
couple "urban" youths,” reported the blog. “That multiple car and store windows on North
Michigan Ave were smashed by "urban youths". That there was a massive fight between "urban
youths" on the Red Line platform at State and Lake that shut down the line. That there were
multiple thefts of purses, laptops, phones, etc. by groups of "urban youths" celebrating the
holiday.”

For you out of towners, Michigan Avenue is the site of the so-called Gold Coast: The
uber-upscale shopping district that is the site of regular and frequent and violent and destructive
black mob violence. Including the Knockout Game.
Almost never reported. Almost always dismissed.
Other cops chimed in with more examples of black mob violence during the Memorial
Day holiday.
“Coppers are pissed there was no reporting in the local press” said one Chicago officer via
email. “You ask coppers on the Gold Coast. They see black mobs roaming downtown Michigan
Avenue without any money. No real reason to be there but to strictly rob, beat and hurt random
Whiteys.”
Steve Chapman is an editor at the Chicago Tribune who does not like it when people like
Second City Cop complain his paper “embargoes” news about racial violence. “Why do you care
so much about the attackers’ race?” he wrote. “If you fear or dislike blacks, I suppose it would
confirm your prejudice. But otherwise, it tells you nothing useful.”

Ferguson: More knockout games.
How did hundreds of reporters miss these?
Unless they wanted to.
Following the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, that small suburb of St.
Louis was flooded with hundreds of reporters. All there to report on white on black racial
violence.
Even so, it is a bit surprising that in this hyper-racial atmosphere, almost all of these
hundreds of reporters could miss at least three examples of the Knockout Game.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch figured out at least two:84
A Washington University student was reportedly
assaulted near the Ferguson McDonald's in what
one witness said appeared to be a knockout game.
Restaurant employees gave the unidentified victim
ice to ease face swelling. Acquaintances
subsequently transported him to a hospital.
The victim praised the "many people here (who)
rushed to help me.”
Eli Rosenberg, a reporter for KMBC in Kansas
City, meanwhile tweeted that an unknown assailant
delivered four punches to the face of his
cameraman.
"Paramedics say (the cameraman) will feel it in the
morning, but should be okay," Rosenberg tweeted.
And of course that does not count the Ferguson homeowner who was attacked by a mob
of ten black people early on during Riot Week. Hear about that one? It even played out on
Twitter.85

If you want to get a good picture of the mindset of the reporters at Ferguson, then check
out their reaction to the release of the videotape of St. Michael of Ferguson robbing a
convenience store. Then assaulting the storeowner.
The same reporters who beg for transparency and more information were now
complaining that releasing the videotape of St. Michael was some kind of plot. Bad because it
made St. Michael look bad.
That’s what Don Lemon of CNN said. Attorney General Eric Holder joined in. As did
Dana Perino of Fox News. Even the Society of Professional Journalists chimed in, saying they
would train the police of Ferguson in proper PR techniques.86
At first I thought I had never heard of anything like that before. Then I remember our old
pal Melissa Harris-Perry, the college prof with a weekend show at MSNBC. She was
interviewing a woman who wrote a story for Foreign Policy magazine about Moslem atrocities
toward women. Melissa Harris-Perry and another guest, a Harvard professor, did not care for
that.

“I start with a little bit of trepidation in this
conversation,” the host said, “in part because I know
some of the critiques of this. The very idea that
Western press, those that are not from these nations,
who are not Muslim ourselves, who are not part of
these traditions can look at your article and say
‘ahhh, look at how horrible those men, or those
societies, or that religion is.’
“And that is part of the reason why, for example, we
have an under-reporting of rape and domestic
violence in African American communities,” HarrisPerry continued. “Because we know the violence
enacted on black men by police, so we often don’t
call. Right?”
Then the MSNBC host brought in Harvard
professor Leila Ahmed, who questioned whether
Eltahawy should have written the article at all. Not
because it was false, but because it made Muslims
look bad.
“You began, Melissa, by noting that some things in
the African-American community are not
publicized precisely because of the racism,” said
Ahmed as Harris-Perry nodded in agreement on a
split screen.

“Mona, I appreciate what you do,” continued
Ahmed. “I would love it if – I understand if you
want to get your message across. It’s an important
message. But if possible [you should not] give fuel,
fodder to people who simply hate Arabs and
Muslims in this climate of our day.”

During the rioting, CNN’s ambassador to the black mob violence, Don Lemon, put on his
best ‘anguished at what I am about to tell you’ act and said he understood the rage of the people
rioting.89
Ok, ready for some homework: Watch the Lemon video. Then watch this video about a
looter explaining why he needed to rob and steal all that stuff and burn down what was left.90
DeAndre Smith, 30, of Ferguson was happy to
justify the looting when a reporter asked him about
it Monday morning.
"This is exactly what is supposed to be happening
when an injustice is happening in your community,"
he said, adding: "You have kids getting killed for
nothing."
Smith, who moved to St. Louis from New York in
December, said there could be more to come.
"I don't think it's over honestly," he said. "I just
think they got a taste of what fighting back means."
Karl McCarty, 39, of Bellefontaine Neighbors,
watched the chaos Sunday night and was back again
Monday. He said he had a message for the young
men leading the charge:
"Let it go, let justice prevail. And if doesn't prevail
in the way they want, don't do this again."
So is DeAndre copying Don? Or is Don copying DeAndre? Let me know. But this much
we know for sure: The both agree that the white folks had it coming. Scratch that, the non-black
folks had it coming.

This Is Long List
The reading is over. Your job is just beginning.
Pick a number between 60 and 600,000. That is how many pages this book could be.
As you go through the stories, did you notice how almost always the attacks are never
isolated? How often people say “oh yeah, that’s been happening around here for a while.”
In Monroe, North Carolina, a TV news reporter held a sheaf of police reports up to the
camera, all documenting black on white and Hispanic Knockout Games. There were dozens. All
recent. All from August 2014.
Go look at the story: She has no idea what is going on. She has no idea that racial
violence is so widespread. And other reporters are so secretive about it.
Maybe you were like that before reading this book. Before reading White Girl Bleed a
Lot.
But not anymore.
And that is how we are going to change this. Stop this. Reverse this flood of racial
violence. We are going to tell the truth about it without racism. Or rancor. Or apologies.
Also, we don’t need Big Causes or Big Solutions.
You are not a Sociologist. Neither am I. Or a biologist. Or a criminologist. So don’t act
like one. Besides, a lot of this book is for deniers. And why try to convince a denier of a solution
when they do not believe there is even a problem to solve.

As I finished the first draft of this book, I received this on my Facebook Page:
A friend and I were leaving Fair State Brewing
Coop around 9:30pm (on Central and Lowry)
tonight and were both assaulted by a group of 5-6
young men.
We got away without more than 1-2 punches each,
and quickly had the Police there to make a report
(since the station is not much more than a block
away).
As we were waiting for the Police to arrive one of
the workers of the brewery said it has been
happening often there. It was completely
unprovoked and without reason. Be careful out
there.
[Admin: Also, nearly a week after a male had his
skull shattered by 3 males with a baseball bat, on
Sept. 18 at 26th/University, we still have zero media
coverage on that incident, nor any alerts from the
MPD about it, nor about any of the other incidents,
if, in fact, this type of thing is regularly occurring in
