KATHLEEN M. BURR, D.M.D., SPECIALIZES IN ORTHODONTICS AND DENTOFACIAL ORTHOPEDICS for children
and adults. After graduating magna cum laude with an A.S.
degree from the University of Bridgeport’s Fones School of Dental Hygiene, she followed her passion for dentistry and earned
her D.M.D. from the UConn School of Dental Medicine. She
completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in orthodontics at
the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she earned her
Certificate in Orthodontics. A past associate professor of orthodontics at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia,
Dr. Burr is a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an elite
international society whose membership is offered to the top
three percent of dentists who rank highest in ethics, professionalism, competence and contributions to the dental field.
Dr. Burr believes that “a pleasant smile and a nice profile can
make a person feel more confident,” and she stresses the importance of orthodontic treatment to perfect an individual’s dentition for optimum functionality.” She recommends that children
be examined by an orthodontist by age 7 for potential irregularities of the teeth to ensure a healthy smile that will last a lifetime.
Patients are welcomed into a spacious, inviting reception
room with wall-mounted video games, a large flat-screen television and coffee bar for all to enjoy. New patients are seen in a private room, but once treatment begins, all patients enjoy an open
treatment area with chairside video games, friendly conversation
and a very accommodating staff.
