A Letter from Lavonne
If mom says no ask grandma or Emae in this case. I did a quick trip recently to NC to celebrate my
granddaughters birthdays. It was just for a weekend so every minute had to count. I asked Katie
what kind of cupcakes she wanted since Mady told me she was going to have German Chocolate which is my favorite. Katie said she wanted Red Velvet, a southern favorite, but mom said no too
much red dye! I mean come on, it was just a cupcake once a year. On Sunday morning me and the
girls snuck out of the house to go to IHOP for breakfast and to let mom and dad sleep in. As we enter
the restaurant there is this huge poster advertising their special - Red Velvet Pancakes. So of course
we all had them and I even let them have 4 different kinds of syrup! Heaven on earth for two little
girls with sweet tooths. I didn't exactly do what mom said no to, but I did make sure
my little girl had her red velvet.Hope all of you have days filled with wonder just like
mine with my granddaughters.
Stay warm. Spring is just around the corner!

Guests will meet a colorful cast of characters leading the
evening in games and good-natured fun, but soon learn
they are amongst two rival Chicago parishes, one Italian

the needed money the best way they know how – playing
Bingo! In between games, you’ll have time for a delicious
family-style Italian dinner and enjoy musical interludes

Broadway's hit new
musical, Hamilton, is
now playing at the Private Bank Theatre. LinManuel Miranda takes the stage as the unlikely
founding father determined to make his mark on
the new nation as hungry and ambitious as he is.
From bastard orphan to Washington's right hand
man, rebel to war hero, a loving husband caught
in the country's first sex scandal, to the Treasury
head who made an untrusting world believe in the
American economy. George Washington, Eliza
Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson and Hamilton's lifelong friend/foil Aaron Burr all make their mark in
this astonishing new musical exploration of a
political mastermind..
