lzheimer’s disease, the most common
form of dementia, affects approxmately
4.5 million people in the United States.
Nearly 50% of those 85 and older
are affected. By 2050, an estimated
14 million people in the U.S. could
suffer from this progressive brain disorder
that gradually destroys a person’s memory
and ability to learn, reason, make judgments,
communicate and carry out daily activities.
For more than 20 years, the Alzheimer’s
Association has provided reliable information,
created supportive programs and services
for families, increased resources for dementia
research, and influenced changes in public
policy across America.

PULSE MAGAZINE
Centered on the music industry,
Pulse Magazine is a revamp
of the classic rock magazine.
Clutter and distressed graphics
aside, Pulse puts emphasis
instead on the art itself, whether
that is the music, photography,
or the design filling its pages.
Eye-pleasing white space and
clean, bold headlines help this
magazine keep its simple, yet
elegant style.

For a while there, it didn’t look like this Ohio
band would even make it through their
freshman stages. Oh sure, singer Mike
Hranica, guitarists Jeremy DePoyster and
Chris Rubey, bassist Andy Trick, James Baney
on keyboards and drummer Daniel Williams
might have convinced a few hundred thousand
MySpace friends and the up-and-coming Rise
Records that they had something special to
offer but plenty of cutting critics didn’t agree.
When the band released debut full-length
‘Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord’, pretty much
a re-recording of an earlier self-released EP,
they weren’t hailed as new metallic force but
instead accused of being lazy and lame.
WE'RE NOT GOING TO DENY THE ONE THING
WE BELIEVE AS THE ULTIMATE TRUTH
But these were dudes young enough to
claim Still Remains and Norma Jean as
influences; bands that are still fairly
fresh-faced themselves. Dudes with time to
grow. And now, bolstered by the rewards of a
strong work ethic, valuable touring experience
(alongside names as varied as The Acacia
Strain, Emery and Chiodos) they have a deal
with Ferret Records for their efforts.

GRAD SHOW INVITE
The graduating class was all
brought together by one common
passion: the desire to learn.
As time progressed, students
branched off of the track and
defined themselves as designers
and individuals. Bright, bold
colors together then gracefully
curving apart, mimic this ideal
and symbolize the two years
spent together as students in the
graphic design program.

PLASTIC POLLUTION
World Wildlife Fund Ad Campaign
AWARDS
2009 Local Silver Addy Award
PLASTIC POLLUTION
A staggering amount of plastic
is disposed of everyday, and
the World Wildlife Fund seeks
to drastically minimize that
number. The harsh reality of
plastic bottles taking on the
form of smokestacks symbolizes
the damaging impact of waste,
which contines to severely harm
our planet. Public awareness of
this problem is the first step in
motivating Americans towards
action and taking care of the
world in which they live.
Each day, Americans dispose of
60 million plastic bottles. Of that
amount, only 14% are recycled—
the rest becomes waste in our
landfills. Eliminate trash;
recycle to help the planet.
