The city of Querétaro is located in the central region of the country, about 200
kilometers north of Mexico City. Querétaro’s beautiful, historic downtown area
was declared by UNESCO a world heritage site, along with 24 other Mexican
locations.
One of the safest cities in Mexico, Querétaro’s climate, with average temperatures
ranging from 64 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit (18 to 30°C), is beautiful year round. The
city’s quiet and friendly atmosphere makes it one of the best studying and living
options for international students.
Queretaro is situated close to historical and colonial cities such as Guanajuato, San
Miguel de Allende and Tequisquiapan.
The city is also full of restaurants, bars, malls, parks, cultural centers, historic
buildings and museums that will allow you to embrace the Mexican culture.

current governor of Querétaro is Franciso Garrido, who is a member of

Innovational Education
The International Programs Department in conjunction with Humanities,
Business and Social Areas offers the following programs:
1.- Undergrad Program
(16 weeks, January-May or August-December)

Culture and Literature. Become familiar with the elements of Mexican and
Latin American culture as well as history.

Business. Discover the characteristics of Mexican business
organizational dynamics while acquiring important negotiation skills.

Spanish as a Foreign Language. Live in Mexico and learn to communicate
within the Latin American culture with our basic to advanced level Spanish
courses.

Spanish for Specific Areas. The Spanish skills you need to work in Latin
America or Spanish-speaking communities in diverse fields such as medical,
engineering or veterinary.

30% of regular courses are offered in English to all students. According to your level
of Spanish, it may be possible to take regular courses in Spanish in your field of
study or in any of our offered majors.
2.-Internship Programs
There are two areas offered:
2.1.-Social. Querétaro is known for its deep commitment to: education, the
development of indigenous peoples; productive social projects, at risk populations
(children, women and the disabled) and the environment. The people of Querétaro
work closely with governmental and non-governmental institutions to further the
social advancement of the state.
2.2-Business. Querétaro is the best option for a business internship because
14 of the most important industrial parks including the best one in all of Latin America
(Parque Industrial Queretaro) are located here. Many transnational and national
companies in the services, metal-mechanics, electronics and food-beverage sectors,
can be found in these parks.

3.- Education Programs
1. La META (Learn About Mexican Education and Teaching in Action)
Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Querétaro is pleased to announce a new
international study program for undergraduate students interested in teaching as a
career or in learning about children and educational life in Mexico. During this twosemester program, students will have the opportunity to improve their understanding
of the Spanish language, learn about Latin American civilizations from historical and
contemporary perspectives, and develop a broad understanding of education in
Mexico.
Students will complete a carefully designed program of coursework at the
Tecnológico de Monterrey and gain valuable field experience by interacting with
Mexican children in their classrooms.

5.- Business Incubators
The Business Incubator of the Tecnológico de Monterrey is a driving platform for the
development of new companies offering accompaniment during the creation, startup, and growth of the business.
The objectives of the Business Incubator are to offer students graduates, and the
entrepreneurial community in general, a development model for new companies. The
Business Incubator also aims to form competitive businessmen and women, and
companies on the national and international level that contribute to the social
development of their community.

Over the past 35 years, the Queretaro campus of ITESM has earned a reputation

Extracurricular Activities
Take advantage of the many ways to make new friends and enjoy the friends you
already have. Queretaro has wonderful sports facilities that host varsity and
intramural teams.
In addition you can choose from:

international student with a Mexican student)
- Cultural workshops (Batik, artistic make up, handcrafts, painting,
photography training, dance classes such as salsa, tango, folk)

Trips
You can enjoy trips to historical and cultural sites within Queretaro. In addition, the
International Programs Department offers 2 trips each semester to other cities
including the pyramids of Teotihuacan, Mexico City and eco-trip to la Sierra.
Living Options
Host Family
Immerse yourself in the Mexican lifestyle and language by sharing a home with a
local family. Discover family and cultural traditions. Experience Mexican customs and
become fluent in Spanish.
The fee for living with a host family includes a single room, three meals a day (seven
days a week), cleaning service, laundry and utilities. Your stay begins on your official
arrival date in Mexico end ends the day after you complete your final exams.
Residence Hall
Living in the residence hall gives you the opportunity to live, share, respect, grow and
make friends with Mexicans and other international students from around the world.
Residence facilities are located on campus for your safety and to make sure you
don’t miss a single cultural, athletic or academic-related event. The residence
