Description
Located not far from Lisbon and within walking distance of both Ericeira center and the beach break of Foz do
Lizandro, Ericeira Surf House is the perfect accommodation for surfers who want to combine a relaxed holiday with
the best possible surf. As a bed & breakfast for surfers who have outgrown surfcamps and want more quality,
Ericeira Surf House offers everything you need. We have 7 spacious, beautiful bedrooms, multiple bathrooms
(shared and ensuite), fully equipped kitchens, a games room and a big living room.
Outside the house you will find a beautiful garden and a big swimming pool where you can enjoy the sun or chill at
the bar. At the dining area with stone barbecue you will have many fun nights with good food and company.
Besides a B&B we also offer surf lessons, surf equipment, airport transfers and much more…
As a typical Portuguese fishing village with nice weather, excellent waves, lots of activities and good restaurants,
Ericeira is an ideal year-round surf destination. In 2011 Ericeira was chosen to be one of the four World Surfing
Reserves, the only one in Europe. The reserve encompasses approximately 8 km of coastline with a high density of
outstanding surf breaks including world famous Ribeira d’Ilhas and Coxos. The diversity of waves in the area with
various degrees of difficulty enables good surfing conditions for all levels of surfers.

Surf conditions in the area
Ericeira is often seen as the surf capital of Portugal and offers an impressive variety of waves, crammed into just a
few kilometres of coast. In 2011 Ericeira was chosen to be one of the four World Surfing Reserves, together with
Malibu and Santa Cruz in California and Manly Beach in Australia. Although most of the breaks are rock bottomed,
the break in front of Ericeira Surf House is a beach break that is perfect for beginners.
Beginners
If you have never surfed before the beaches south of Ericeira are the place to be. Foz do Lizandro and Sao Juliao are
typical beach breaks and perfect for beginners. Praia do Sul also provides some beginner possibilities if the
conditions are right. Both Foz do Lizandro and Praia do Sul are within walking distance from Ericeira Surf House.
Intermediates
Intermediates can also have fun on the beach breaks mentioned above but they can also choose for the famous,
reliable and safe reef break Ribeira d’Ilhas, host of the ASP World qualifying series or for some other breaks north of
Ericeira.
Experienced surfers
For experienced surfers, Ericeira and surroundings is like heaven on earth. They can choose from over 15 surf
breaks in just 8 kilometers of coastline, with the world famous long and hollow wave of Coxos as highlight. Sitting
proudly next to it in the quality stakes are the barrels of Pedra Branca, Backdoor, Reef, Cave and Crazy Left.
But don’t forget to explore further up and down the coast as well. If you drive 20 kilometers north, you’ll find the
beautiful beach breaks of Santa Cruz and Praia Azul. The famous beach breaks of Peniche are also just an hour
drive. To the south, you have Praia do Magoito, Praia Grande and Praia do Guincho. You can even venture further
south towards Carcavelos beach and the other surf spots along the Lisbon coast. This is also the place to go when
the western swells are too big or blown out.

Area description
Ericeira Surf House is located close to Lisbon and just a few steps south of Ericeira in a small village called Fonte
Boa da Brincosa. This is the best possible location as it is within walking distance of the surf beach Foz do Lizandro,
the break of Praia do Sul and Ericeira town center. Also the other famous surf breaks, such as Ribeira d’Ilhas, Sao
Juliao and Coxos are within easy reach.
The area surrounding the house is full of nature. At the house you will find an environment where you can fully
relax after a long day at the beach or an evening in the city center. It’s the perfect place to combine a relaxed
holiday with the best possible surf. And if you would like to get cultural, Lisbon and the Unesco world heritage town
of Sintra (also seen as the nicest town in Portugal) are only 30 minutes by car. Also Cabo da Roca, the most western
point of the Eurasian continent is only 35 kilometres away.
