Via Santo Spirito, historical street on the “other side”, our “rive gauche” of the
Arno River, opens its doors and shops to the Italian gourmet flavors of TASTE.
Two days of promenades between Atelier , Craftsmen shops with excellent
food and wine ,in one of the most unique artisan and design corners of Italy.
Via Santo Spirito, a the streets that is a true symbol of Italian artisan know-how , for the first
time opens its doors, its courtyards and Renaissance palaces, shops and ateliers to the
creators of some of the best creators of traditional and unique foods. For two afternoons , the
next Saturday 8th od March and Sunday, March 9th, from 4p.m. to 8 p.m. the whole street
turns into a living room and tasting ground of different delicatessens . This event is part of
Fuori di Taste and we called SANTOSPIRITOVIVA-NDE a joke meaning Santo Spirito alives
thanks to food.
For the first time , an entire street is mobilized to create an event that involves workshops ,
designer ateliers , stores , in addition to Art and Antiques galleries.
You are invited to discover precious, good and beautiful things placed in hidden corners ,
small secret gardens and elegant Renaissance courtyards.
A “fil rouge” ties the excellence of this traditional street full of historical and
sophisticated craftsmen’s shops, design ateliers with those small food and wine
producers which might be considered the new excellence of the “made in Italy”.
In this special context , three initiatives are also part of the artistic and cultural value:
Marina Calamai , Florentine artist known in the art world for his playful and unusual works,
inspired by the world of sweets , pastry and chocolate , will exhibit his performances in the
spaces of Palazzo Guicciardini , the home of her studio and in some stores and craft shops
of the street.
The ALBERTO Boralevi Gallery organizes an exhibition , which opens on March 8 and will
remain open until March 29 , inspired by the subject of SANTOSPIRITOVIVA-NDE , titled "
The Bread carpets" . this exhibition will showcase rare sofreh ardi ( ard = flour) , small
square format rugs, about one meter by one meter , woven in kilim technique and often
embellished with brocade edges
in overlapping textures of type sumakh or even knotted fleece , which were used by the
women of Iran villages to support the trays in which the bread was kneaded.
In the atrium of Residenza d'Epoca " Via Santo Spirito 6" , an exhibition curated by Claudio
Cosma, collector of contemporary art in collaboration with Sensus Art Foundation. The
exhibition , " The cave of primates , the food before the fire," with works by Emmanuel
Baiocchi, Marika Marquis , Misunori Kimura and participation Martin Leon , who will report
the unfolding of the two-day exhibition in his blog Guaizine .
At SANTOSPIRITOVIVA-NDE food and wine artisans are guess of the many different
shops and ateliers; here they will offer succulent and refined tastings of some of their
products , creating a new story of great suggestion.
• Restaurant - Shop Olio & Convivium , refined gourmet shop " Old Florence " , is home to
the typical Sicilian products of Nature in Tasca , Sicily selected by Fabrizia Lanza with the
wines of The Estates of Tasca d' Almerita , Sicily.
• The Residenza d' Epoca " Via Santo Spirito 6" , and charming exclusive all- suites
residence in the Oltrarno district , hosts to the knife to cut ham , pecorino and food
specialties selected by Agrietruria , Albinia , Grosseto and the wines of Agricola Poggio
Brigante , Magliano in Tuscany , Grosseto .
• Lux by Area , concept studio dedicated to the design and interior decoration, host the
unique and precious teas Le Via del Té , Florence.
• Anthony Lionetti Home Design , gallery dedicated to the research of the twentieth century
furnishings , hosts the Tomato, sauces by Mediterranea Belfiore , Cecina , Livorno, pappa al
pomodoro of Luisanna Messeri , well noted television chef plus Tuscan wines by Tuscany
Luxury , Cecina , Livorno.
• At Fiorile , elegant and refined studio of floral decorations is hosting the “gentle” art of
Pastry Patalani , Viareggio , Lucca and Sparkling wines Cupelli , San Miniato , Pisa.
• Study Puck, refined laboratory that creates and interprets eclectic frames, mirrors and
"pieces" of furniture produced entirely with craft techniques and methods , hosts cooked ham
hand cut by the butcher Masoni , Viareggio , Lucca and the wines of the companies selected
by ViniEtici , Florence.
• L'Atelier Giuggiù di Angela Caputi , where the Florentine designer , inspired by the
American cinema of the first half of 900, gives life to his original creations inspired by a never
dormant passion for fashion, hosts the peppers of ,Pepperita , Cecina , Livorno and the extra
virgin olive oil of Il Cavallino , Bibbona , Livorno, all these goodies are interpreted in finger
food by Alessia Morabito and Alex Biagi , cooks of Osteria La Terra di Nello, Castiglione ,
Grosseto also the mouth-watering creations Alexis Lai sweetest Pastry Florence , Florence
and wines Casavyc , Scansano, Grosseto will complete the extravaganza.
• At Mariotti Lampadari, a family of master craftsmen and passionate interpreters of
traditional manufacture of chandeliers will host creations of Sicilian gelato (artisan ice cream)
Il Re Gelato , Florence.
• At the Galleria Alberto Boralevi , the last descendant of a famous family of antiques rugs
and rare antique textiles, as well as Muslims fabrics and embroideries hosts the tasting of
the special and traditional breads and the many fragrant baked goods by
Menchetti bakery , Cesa , Arezzo and San Quirico Brewery beers , San Quirico , Siena.
• In the halls of the studio of Patricia Al'Kary , a renowned Brazilian artist originally from
Fortaleza, arrived in Florence to crown her desire to create unique art collections of
handbags, the Cheeses of the Magi , Castiglione Fiorentino , Arezzo, the Cigars of the
Friends of the Tuscan Cigar Club, the world renowned knives by the Cutlery Saladini , of
Scarperia, Florence , and the award winning wines of Marchesi de ' Frescobaldi , Florence.
• The historic alartisan shop Castorina , a family run shop unique even to Italian standards
with more than 100 years of experience in wood carving becomes the home of the Buffalo
Mozzarella Cheese and Dairy products by Barlotti of Paestum , Salerno along with the wine
of Winemakers De Conciliis , Prignano Cilento, Salerno.
• The vibrant spaces of Wave, a think tank dedicated to the care and the aesthetics of the
persons , where Rosaria and Fabio have created a true "retreat oasis" for their cosmopolitan
clientele , hosts the artichokes in oil , vegetables sauces and the wine of Agnoni , Cori ,
Latina .
This event is open to the public and free.
