SPEAKERS:
Giacomo Biagi
Following his degree in veterinary medicine in 1994, Giacomo Biagi did
his military service as veterinary lieutenant of Guardia di Finanza. In
2000, he received his Ph.D. degree in “Quality improvement of foodstuffs
for human consumption”. Since 2010, he has been working as an
associate professor at the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences of
the University of Bologna, where he is responsible for the Animal
Production, Nutrition and Feedstuffs Section. He is lecturer of several
courses, including “Nutrition of companion animals” for the degree in
Veterinary Medicine, author of scientific publications in books and peer-reviewed journals and
speaker at national and international scientific congresses. His main field of interest is the nutrition
of dogs and cats.
Antonio De Biase
Graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 2009 at Milan State University. From
2009 his activities are: scientific Representative in human medicine. His
experience in pet food started in 2010 in Royal Canin Group first in
the.Veterinary team as Veterinary; area Manager and after in Scientific
Communication Team. Now he is a Technical Trainer Specialist in Royal
Canin Italia
Francesco Dondi
He graduated summa con laude in veterinary medicine at the university of
Bologna in 2002. In 2006 he obtained a doctor title as a researcher in veterinary
clinical pathology. Since 2006 he is a university researcher at the department of
veterinary medical sciences of the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of
Bologna. He works daily at the didactic veterinary hospital and works mostly in
nephrology, urology and internal medicine of small animals. Since 2014 he is
responsible for the laboratory of clinical pathology at the same hospital. He is
the author of articles in national and international publications. His main research fields are
associated with nephrology and urology of small animals besides veterinary clinical pathology.
Flavio Morchi
Graduated in Veterinary Medicine on 1982 at Milan State University. From
2008 attends three missions, Scientific Communication Director, Corporate
Affairs Correspondent and Technical Training Team Coordinator, within the
Italian subsidiary of Royal Canin based in Milan. His experience in pet food
started on 1991 serving the Royal Canin Group as National Sales Director in
Italy and as Veterinary Activities Manager Worldwide at Royal Canin
Headquarter in France.
Simona Neglia
Graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 2002 at Naples State University. From 2002
her activities are: Freelancer in Naples Veterinary Clinc PhD and Specialist in
Animal Feed at Naples State University; researcher at Telethon Institute of
Genetics and Medicine and at Stazione Zoologica “Anton Dohrn”of Naples. Her
experience in pet food started in 2010,serving the Royal Canin Group in Scientific
Comunication Team. Now she is a Technical Trainer Specialist in Royal Canin
Italia.
Maria Carmela Pisu
Received the laurea degree with summa cum laude in 2000 with a thesis on
“Use of different methods of oocyte activation after ICSI in mare . Member of
SIRVAC from 2003. In 2011 she is nominated president for the same society.
Member of the European Society Small Animal Reproduction (EVSSAR) from
2010. Speaker and instructor in several events on “Small animal reproduction”
She has published several papers in national and international conferences
and journals. Curator of the Italian edition of the BSAVA manual of Canine
and Feline Reproduction and neonatology authored by G. England. She has completed the ECAR
(European College of Animal Reproduction) training in October 2012. She has founded the VRC
(Veterinary Reference Center) in 2006. She is the medical director of the same center where she
covers all the disciplines related to small reproduction.
Michele Polli
DVM, PhD Università di Milano
Doctor in Veterinary Medicine, he obtained the University of Milan PhD; Prof.
Polli always studied molecular genetics and hereditary pathologies in domestic
animals. He is lecturer in genetics for the course of Animal Breeding and
Welfare and in genetically transmissible diseases in pets for the course of
Veterinary Medicine in Milan. This activity allowed him to identify mutations
causing some hereditary diseases in animals of veterinary interest, developing
consequently some patents. Prof. Polli is President and administrator of VetoGene, molecular
genetics laboratory. His research activity is mainly directed to genetic control of hereditary
diseases to preserve pets health and welfare. He is author of about 140 scientific publications.
Guido Poncini
Graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 2006 at Milan State University. Form 2006
his activities are: Trainee at A.S.L. (Local Veterinary Office), Officer at the
Technical Scientific Department – Federchimica, CONFINDUSTRIA,
Freelancer Vet. His experience in pet food started in 2010, serving the Royal
Canin Group in Scientific Comunication Team. Now he is Technical Trainer
Specialist in Royal Canin Italia.
