maintained or the fire label and warranty will be voided. For non-fire rated
doors, the distance may be decreased
to 5” (127 mm). Less than 5” (127 mm)
may affect the warranty

1. L100 Wood Non-Vision Louver Unit - 3/4” wide, 33% free air movement. Matching
specie to door face veneer for Premium grade. For use with 1-3/4” thick doors.
Specify louver size the same as cutout size. 1-3/8” thick doors require framed
louvers. Louvers may not be installed in 20 minute fire doors.
M2W - Flat Lip Moulding 11/16” wide x 5/8” thick, 3/32” radius.

1. L1900A Framed Metal Non-Vision Louver Unit - Fire rated fusible link unit for use
with 45, 60 or 90 minute fire doors. 1-3/4” wide. 135 degree F fusible link. 40% free
air movement. For use with 1-3/4” thick doors only. Not factory installed. Louvers
may not be installed in 20 minute fire doors.
2. Stell mounting frame overlaps door face 1”.
3. Through bolt applied. Security screws are available by option.

Fire rated Metal Vision Panel
1. M110 Metal Vision Frame - Fire rated for 20, 45, 60 and 90 minute fire door
applications. 18 gauge steel with mitered, round corners that are braced and
welded. Available wood veneer wrapped as an option. Low profile for hardware
clearance.
2. Metal frame and glazing support clip.
3. Vandal proof binder screw.
4. For 1/4” thick listed glazing (not included).
Note: No glazing compound or tape is required. Not factory installed.
5. Fire rated metal vision panels will be factory installed.

Flat Wood Astragal
1. A1 Wood Astragal - 2” wide, 1/2” thick, 1/4” radius on face edges. Matching specie
to door face veneer for Premium grade. For use with 1-3/4” or 1-3/8” thick doors.
2. May be applied using wood screws and adhesive.
3. Not for use on any 45, 60 or 90 minute fire rated doors. Flat wood astragals may
be applied to 20 minute neutral pressure tested pairs with Firestop metting edges.

Non-rated Doors with Transoms
1. Doors with transoms are available with or without frame transom bars in
single or paired openings.
2. Meeting edges of transoms and doors in openings without transom bars may
be straight cut or rabbeted. See standard rabbet detail.
3. Doors with transoms are available in GPD and GCD bonded constructions
only.
4. GPD has matching rails at bottom of transom and top of door. GCD has nonmatching rails at bottom of transom and top of door.
5. Spring bolts are required for installation of transom panels. Springbolts must
be placed a minimum of 2” (51 mm) from each corner.
Panels up to 18” (458 mm) in height require 2 springbolts per side.
Panels up to 36” (916 mm) in height require 3 springbolts per side.
Panels up to 40” (1220 mm) in height require 4 springbolts per side.
6. Doors with transoms are available in single openings up to 4’0” x 10”0”.
Maximum transom panel size in a single opening up to 4’0” wide x 3’4” high.
Doors with transoms are available in paired openings up to 8’0” x 10’0”.
Maximum transom panel size is a paired opening is 8’0” wide x 3’4” high.

1. Doors with transom may be provided with:
a. Straight cut meeting edges of door and transom with an over lapping astragal.
b. Straight cut meeting edges of door and transom with frame transom bar.
c. Rabbeted meeting edges of door and transom.
2. A maximum 1/8” (3.2 mm) clearance between
door and transom is allowed in non-rabbeted
applications.
3. Transom panels must be installed using
springbolts placed a minimum of 2” (51 mm)
from each corner.

20 Minute Fire Rated Doors with Transoms
1. Transom panels must be the same construction as the 20 minute fire door.
2. Neutral pressure tested doors with transom panels may be rabbeted, or installed with a metal edge
and astragal, or with a transom bar between the door and transom.
Positive pressure tested doors with transom panels must be installed in a frame with a transom bar between the door and transom.
3. Transom installed over a pair of 20 minute rated doors must be separated with a frame mullion. The
mullion must limit the width of each separate transom to the width of each leaf of the door pair.
4. The transom panel must be machined for spring bolts by the licensed machiner of manufacturer. The
appropriate number of springbolts will be supplied by the machiner.
5. Fire rating labels will be provided on door and transom stating “Door and Transom Assembly.”
6. Fire rated transom panels must be installed using approved steel springbolts. The springbolts shall be
placed 2” (51 mm) from each corner with the minimum number centered on each side. Holes must
be drilled in the frame to accept the springbolts. Hole locations vary with respect to rabbeted and
unrabbeted tansoms.
Panels up to 18” (458 mm) in height require 2 springbolts per side.
Panels up to 36” (916 mm) in height require 3 springbolts per side.
Panels up to 40” (1220 mm) in height require 4 springbolts per side.
7. Maximum clearance between the frame and panel must be 1/8” (3.2 mm).
8. Doors with transoms are available in single openings up to 4’0” x 10”0”. Maximum transom panel size
in a single opening up to 4’0” wide x 3’4” high. Doors with transoms are available in paired openings
up to 8’0” x 10’0”. Maximum transom panel size is a paired opening is 8’0” wide x 3’4” high. Transom
panels above pairs of doors must be separated by a mullion.

45/60/90 Minute Fire Rated Doors with Transoms
1. Transom panels must be the same construction as the 20 minute fire door.
2. Neutral pressure tested doors with transom panels may be rabbeted, or installed with a metal edge and astragal, or
with a transom bar between the door and transom. Rabbeted door and transom assemblies must be constructed with
minimum 5” (127 mm) Firestop bottom rail of transom and top rail of door. The rabbet must be a minimum 1/2” (13 mm)
deep x 7/8” (22 mm) wide.
Positive pressure tested doors with transom panels must be installed in a frame with a transom bar between the door and
transom.
3. If an overhead door closer is to be installed the bottom rail of the transom and the top rail of the door must be 5” (127
mm) Firestop. When transom bar is provided the rails shall be standard Firestop or Firestop II material.
4. Transom installed over a pair of fire rated doors must be separated with a frame mullion. The mullion must limit the width

labeled fire doors. The following conditions apply:

rated doors, mouldings must be installed using 3/32” glazing tape on both sides of the glass and must
be fastened every 8” on center using 3rd finish nails (Glazing tape and finish mails are not provided). For
fire rated applications follow the installation intructions for the listed and labeled lite kit specified. With
listed and labeled wood or metal kits may be specified.
For non-fire rated applications 1/4” tempered safety glazing must be used. 1/4” wired glazing may be
specified if desired. (Glazing is not included). For fire rated applications and listed and labeled glazing
materials may be specified.
When finished and installed per manufacturers specifications this product carries a full lifetime warranty against manufacturer defect on interior applications. The product is not warranted for exterior
application in any event. Exterior applications are those which expose a door to extremes of temperature and/or humidity regardless of the physical placement.
