New Functions for LogiKal 8.1
Information Sheet; Issue 1, July 2013 Tel: 01684 851230 [email protected] Follow us on @bmaluminium New Functions for LogiKal 8.1 1. New Construction Products Regulation From 1 July 2013, with the full implementation of the Construction Products Regulation, it will be a legal requirement for manufacturers of construction products covered by a harmonised European Standard, to ensure their products have a Declaration of Performance against the essential characteristics and apply CE Marking. Example of a window characteristic list LogiKal 8.1 includes a tool for the user to create a CE label and Declaration of Performance for windows, doors & curtain walling. You right-click each position and control the characteristics individually or “CTRL” select multiple positions. LogiKal creates U-Value calculations for each position, where the database has the information and where the user glass is configured. You can use this figure or add your own calculation. After you have processed your position you will be able to assign the relevant characteristics to the product so you can then produce a CE label and Declaration of Performance. The Declaration of Performance and CE label displayed are draft versions and may vary on the final versions. There will be multiple CE label designs to use to suit your product or intended use. This is a 120mm x 30mm useful for EURO groove use on a window. 2. Special Lengths You can now edit multiple special lengths within the “Special Length” option. Example of Special length multiple selection screen Using “CTRL” you can highlight the profiles you wish to assign to the same multiple lengths in one action. 3. Estimation per Position This gives you the ability to see live pricing as you process. In the project header screen you will have the option shown in the example shown to the left. You can use this if you have already built the basics of your estimation data. It will give you the first pricing once you have added profiles to your design and then will keep updated live as you process through the project screens. Once you have finished the position you can then use the report “Excel Estimation”. The purpose of this is to give the user a complete breakdown of the estimation costs down to the individual items. This can then be altered to build up pricing and adjust mark-ups in Excel if a user prefers this to LogiKal Estimation data mark-up options. 4. Estimation Data – Discount Group Information From within the System Database suppliers area you can add more information to describe a discount group. 5. Slabs The slabs you create in the grid section can now been seen when you do a horizontal cross section. The “Actual Glass Size Display” option needs to be selected within Cross Section for the slab to be displayed. 6. Hardware Images When processing you can now toggle these buttons to see pictures or line text on hardware. 7. Door Animation Once you have selected your door hardware with hinge data, you can now view a cross section and “Animate” the door while processing the door using the slide rule option at the bottom of the example shown to the right. The “Display Actual Glass Size” option needs to be selected for the door to be animated. This works for both single and double doors. 8. Wall Connections A graphic has been added to allow you to go straight to the side/s you require. The folder option allows you to select a wall connection from another position/project. Selecting the all grey option lets you select a wall connection in the same manner as before. 9. Highlighted Project When you enter into “Project Management” while you have a project open, the open project will now be highlighted for ease. 10. User Defined Hardware Packages You can now create your own user hardware packages by project and position. This means you can import a door position into a project and have your user define package available to select for the rest of the doors you create in this project. Once you have created the package above you can then select it as a hardware pack in the drop down in Door Hardware. Always remember to untick “save filter” to see all available packs, including your newly created ones. 11. Cross Section Plan Report If you need to see a cross section of each profile relationship you can use the report “Cross Section Plan”. Each page then has an indentifying reference on each page.
