The arts scene in Peterborough is as vibrant as ever, both in the city itself and in the surrounding villages. In 2014 we have Open Studios events in 34 diverse locations, from the very heart of the city and out as far as Oundle, Whittlesey, and Deeping St James. We are proud to have 63 exciting artists exhibiting with us this year, representing a wide range of work including mosaics, photography, jewellery, textiles, prints, sculpture, ceramics, digital art, stone carving, illustration and many forms of painting. Almost half of the artists in this directory are exhibiting for the first time in 2014, so we have a great mixture of new artists and old favourites. Everyone will, of course, be showing his or her latest work. This year we are holding a city centre preview event in Cathedral Square on 7th and 8th of June. Twenty of our artists will be taking part, so it’s a great way to get a flavour of what will be on offer over the PAOS weekends in June and July. Look out for us in the marquees around the square. This Directory will help you to plan your visit, and you can keep it as a handy guide to local artists throughout the year. Our website also includes all the information you will need, including a map and further information about each artist. www.paos.org.uk You can also keep up to date with us on Facebook and Twitter: @ArtPeterborough What to expect You can expect a warm welcome at all our venues, many of which are in the artists’ own homes or gardens. Refreshments are offered in some, and you are welcome to browse the displays, which will be varied in style, but usually include both finished work for sale and “work in progress”. There is absolutely no obligation to buy and admission is free. There will, of course, be the chance to talk to the artists, who are happy to discuss their methods and inspirations. We ask that you respect the exhibitors’ property and space when you visit, bearing in mind that many are opening their private homes. Please also note that cash and cheques are usually acceptable, but a few artists are able to process payments by card. Access As these are domestic properties, we are unable to offer specialist access for visitors with disabilities. However, exhibitors will endeavor to provide assistance where required, and are happy to be telephoned in advance to discuss your needs. Liability and Copyright The Peterborough Artists Open Studios Group cannot accept liability for any loss, damage or injury sustained by any member of the public visiting the studios. The public does so at entirely its own risk. The copyright for all artists’ images on our website and in this directory, and for all works on display, is owned by the individual artists. 70 34 artists exhibiting in different locations all over the city and in the surrounding villages www.paos.org.uk www.paos.org.uk 3 4 www.paos.org.uk 1 Art in the Heart, 47 Bridge St, Peterborough PE1 1HA 28, 29 June, 5, 6, 12, 13 July Open 11am - 4pm 1 Art in the Heart, 47 Bridge St, Peterborough PE1 1HA 28, 29 June, 5, 6, 12, 13 July Open 11am - 4pm Martin Cibik Drawing, Painting, Photography 07947 818890 Veronika Pagacova Drawing, Painting, Print Making, Line Art 07539 291329 My art is based on the experience, emotions, energies and whole range of consciousness states. It is about exploring and experiencing during the self discovering journey. Fine Art. Pushing the boundaries of the traditional surface, I manipulate my chosen mediums to create a unique textural experience for the viewer, with the invitation to examine, explore and touch. Inspired by the beauty of nature, I try to capture its light and mood to give a sense of “being in the picture”.
