The convergence of old and new!
There are many similarities between the newspaper industry and Scottsdale, Arizona.
Scottsdale is a mix the Old West and modern luxuries and we are grounded in print
but have adopted the Digital-First mantra.
This year’s conference reflects similar convergence. NTMC is stretching the
boundaries of past conferences to include some oldies but goodies, as well as some
new content and interaction opportunities. NTMC’s goal is to give newspapers
access to advertiser’s insights, goals and future plans.
This year, as in past years, we have kept your needs top
of mind. Times change and NTMC listens and responds.
This year’s agenda gives NTMC the chance to stretch beyond
familiar advertisers to include categories that we have not
heard from in recent years. We are pleased to bring to
Scottsdale both Ashley Furniture and Walmart. In both
cases, these accounts have seen their categories become
very competitive and will share their stories with us.
And, on the agency side, we have presenting both NSA
and Media Space Solutions.
While National advertisers have always been a staple
at NTMC conferences, we are pleased to have speakers
from large regional accounts this year including Mattress
Firm and Family Dollar as part of a Regional Advertising
Panel on Wednesday.
And even though advertisers are always a key
conference feature, the NTMC’s goal is to lead our
industry with pertinent business segments that are
available to our members only. Paul Boyle will keep
us abreast of the latest USPS Valassis NSA, Jim Hart
will lead a discussion on TMC benchmarking versus
Valassis and 200 other newspapers, and Jessica George
from AAM will provide new perspective on “Select” program verified
circulation and reporting options. We will also get a preview of what
ShopLocal has in store for the upcoming NAA conference in April.
NTMC will also have two “hot topic” segments on the agenda,
to give newspaper attendees the opportunity to dig deeper into
areas of most interest and bring home valuable information from
your peers.
And last but not least, in addition to our sponsor session on
Friday, we end each evening with time to reflect on the day and
our business opportunities with our sponsors and newspaper
colleagues from around the country and on our shared vision
and strength that will carry each of our companies forward,
bridging the old and the new, well into the future.
We hope you take in all that NTMC and Scottsdale have
to offer, and take away more than you had hoped!!
