Protect Your Debit Card
Information
Using your debit card is a simple, hassle-free way to make
purchases. To enjoy the many
conveniences debit offers, you
should make protecting your
debit card a priority. Here are some important safety
tips:
• Treat your card like cash – store it in a safe place.
• Shop carefully online – only use secure sites and
network connections.
• Report a lost or stolen card at once.
• Review your account statements regularly.
• Never disclose personal information in response to
an unsolicited request. Remember the credit union
will never call, text or email you asking for your
account information.
ATM & Night Deposit Precautions
We want the ATM and night deposit facility to be safe and
convenient for you, so follow these helpful hints:
1. Always save your ATM receipts. Don’t leave them at the
ATM. Compare your records with the account statements
you receive.
2. Don’t loan your ATM card to anyone. Remember, do not
leave your card in the ATM.
3. Protect the secrecy of your Personal Identification Number
(PIN). Don’t give anyone information regarding your ATM
card or PIN over the phone. Prevent others from seeing you
enter your PIN.
4. If you lose your ATM card or if it is stolen, promptly notify
ECU.
5. Be aware of your surroundings. Look out for suspicious
activity near the ATM or night deposit facility. At night, be
sure that the facility is well lit. Consider having someone
accompany you. Don’t accept assistance from anyone you
don’t know.
6. If you notice anything suspicious or if any other problem
arises after you have begun an ATM transaction, cancel the
transaction, pocket your card and leave.
7. Don’t display your cash; pocket it as soon as the ATM
transaction is completed and count the cash later when you
are in a safe area.
8. At a drive-up facility, make sure all the car doors are
locked and all of the windows are rolled up, except the
driver’s window. Keep the engine running.
9. Report immediately any suspicious activity or crimes to
both the police and the operator of the facility.

IMPORTANT NOTICES
Funds Availability Policy
Changes in Federal Regulation CC and the centralization of the Federal Reserve check-processing regions have shortened the clearing time for checks deposited at ECU. The changes allow ECU to reduce the delay period in cases where
it is necessary to place a “hold” on a check in which case you would be notified.
Our general policy continues to allow you to withdraw funds deposited into your account immediately. In some cases,
we may delay your ability to withdraw funds and provide you with the reason for and period of delay.
A detailed copy of our Funds Availability Policy is available on our website at www.edcu.com or you may call 1-800596-5460 to obtain a copy.
