MUNICIPAL BUILDING IN ALL ITS GLORY
2
HISTORY OF OUR MUNICIPAL BUILDING
The Building dates back to the 18th Century.
It is the pride and joy of Hanoverians, and gives our capital town a most
distinctive appearance.
There are other charming historical edifices in our parish capital.
Adorned by the Municipal clock, Lucea is the envy of many other places.
The story surrounding our clock is that it arrived in Jamaica in error and
the public paid a subscription to keep it.

THE HANOVER MUNICIPALITY IS DETERMINED TO GROW
In looking at Learning Cities, Hanover Parish Council, is determined to adopt
practices that foster growth and development through sound environmental
goals.
Currently, a sizeable portion of our grassroots population is vulnerable to
disasters, through constructing their houses in danger zones such as steep
hillsides. We are strengthening our Building Regulations.
As the nation’s 3rd ranked property tax compliant municipality, we are determined
to do better.
As a part of a small developing island state, substandard road construction is
being tackled.
Environmental blight through poor garbage disposal will be a thing of the past.
