Dear comrades,
The 2014 IFMS Congress will be held in Andermatt, Switzerland, from 28 to 31 August.
The Swiss Armed Forces Mountaineering Service Centre is organising the 2014 IFMS Congress
on behalf of the Federation of Swiss Mountain Soldiers (VSGS). It is a great honour for us to
welcome you to the renowned Armed Forces Mountaineering Service Centre in Andermatt.
Enclosed, you will find the programme (Annex 2) and further information on the event.
Accommodation at the barracks is free of charge. If you choose this option, please indicate this
on the application form. Participants who prefer to stay at a hotel must book their
accommodation themselves, using the code “IMFS Congress”, and settle their accounts with the
hotel directly. For your convenience, we enclose a list of local hotels (Annex 1).
Participants must pay their congress fee of Euro 210 (including meals, visits, etc.) at the
beginning of the congress in cash (credit cards are not accepted).
Dress code:
• Opening/closing ceremony and social evening: uniform (best dress) or smart casual;
• Exercises and presentations: battle dress uniform (BDU) or casual.
In order to arrange barracks accommodation and the trips and visits, we ask all participants and
their guests to return the completed registration form (Annex 3) by 10 July 2014 at the latest to:
