Upcoming Lecture
The Kennedy Assassination:
History’s Greatest Turning Point?
Presented by Peter Kuznick
Tuesday, November 11
John F. Kennedy’s presidency was tragically
cut short by one or more assassins’ bullets.
Historians have passionately debated his
legacy ever since. Some say his presidency
would not have looked significantly
different from that of his successor Lyndon
Baines Johnson, who decided not to run
for reelection after little more than one
turbulent and controversial term in office.
Others, however, argue that Kennedy had
embarked on a course that would have
fundamentally changed the direction of the U.S. and the entire world.
Dr. Peter Kuznick will take a fresh look at this extraordinary period of
U.S. history when the nation seemed hopeful and idealistic but was
also involved in the Cold War and on the precipice of the Vietnam War.
A reception and exhibition viewing begin at 5 pm with the lecture at
6:30 pm. Please contact Andrea Boschult at 402.444.5071 for tickets.
The reception is $5 for members and $12 for non-members. Payment
due at time of reservation.

moments in history. The Durham Museum
