President's Letter
The Alumni Association has continued the same activities as in the past. We serve refreshments
at the Awards Assembly where the alumni scholarships are presented. We provide concessions
at the alumni football games and, this past year, participated in the July 4 celebration by serving
cotton candy and sno cones, which were a big hit for the younger crowd. Fund raising is
primarily through the annual dues and an occasional donation.
The Alumni Association presented the school with a $2500 check at half-time of the 2011
homecoming football game. This money was left from fund raising efforts for stadium
improvements. It was used to make payment on the new scoreboard.
Don Tottingham continues to make improvements to our website (www.caboolalumni.com) and
has now set up a PayPal account to allow you to pay your dues electronically. We urge you to
use this easy payment method. Don also continues to sell advertisement on our web site. This
money is put into our scholarship fund.
To save money the newsletter is being sent via email and it will be available on the website. It is
important to keeep your email updated. Look at the website for further updates regarding events
for the 2012 All School Reunion.
Looking forward to seeing you in May.

2012 All School Reunion
Plans are being made for the All School Reunion on Memorial Day weekend, May 25 and 26,
2012. Classes are invited to gather at the gazebo on Main Street on Friday evening at 5:00 PM.
Hopefully, there will be some entertainment, but definitely a time to visit with old friends. Food
will be available. Saturday's events include registration at the high school at 8:00 AM, with juice
and doughnuts provided. Prior to the parade lineup there will be a general meeting at the
football stadium including a confirmation of nominees for officers of the Alumni Association.
The classes of 1960, 1961, and 1962 will be recognized for fifty year reunions. The parade will
lineup at 10 o'clock by the gymnasium and will end at the same place. Lunch will be available at
the Alumni Park immediately following the parade.
Possible meeting places for class reunions include the following:
Drury University
First Baptist Church
Second Baptist Church
Senior Center
Church of the Brethren
(417) 962-5314
(417) 962-3106
(417) 962-3608

Cabool Alumni Memorial Park
Work on the park continues. The shelter, mentioned in the 2008 newsletter, has been
finished and was used at the 2009 All School Reunion. It is a very nice addition to the park.
More bricks have been laid since that time, but we continue to solicit additional orders for
bricks. We hope from those attending the All School Reunion in May and all the individual
class reunions and reading articles in the Cabool Enterprise and online it will jog your memory
and you will take time to order yours. These orders would be laid in the fall, 2012 if we have
enough orders.
In the fall 2011, we had a work day at the park and with the help of alumni members and boys from the Gentry Residential Center,
we were able to reseed some of the park, redo a retaining wall by one sidewalk, and landscape bricks by the other. The Alumni
Association contributed $430.00 to the Alumni Park for construction of a new set of steps for access to the park from a new
parking area on the east side of the gym. We still would like more tables and benches for the park, but funds are needed to do this.
If you have not seen the park, please stop while you are in town and check it out. It has been used for class reunions, All School
reunions, and by teachers and students. Order blanks for bricks
may be obtained on the website by selecting the Alumni Park
button then download the brick order form. Also you can get
them from Missy Dotson at the Cabool State Bank or call at 417
962-3686 to get them by mail. Order blanks and donations may
be mailed to June Taff, 14083 Orchard Road, Cabool, MO
65689.
Please invite your classmates to attend the All School Reunion. They will be glad you did!

DEDICATED DOGS
In January 2011, a group of dedicated and talented Cabool High School graduates and faculty began an orginazation who wanted to
help ensure the successful future of our school and community. We call these individuals “DEDICATED DOGS.”
The idea was to harness the talent, experience, resources, and connections of people willing to help, for use by Cabool school and
town leadership. Would you consider becoming a DD? You don’t need to do anything more than what you’ve already been doing
in your life. Are you a lawyer, an accountant, a financier, a marketer, or a business executive? Are you a grant writer, an educator,
a web developer, an architect? Are you a leader? Or are you just fired up to add a little “world-class athlete” ability and elbow
grease to the team?
Please contact Kirby or Aaron ([email protected], 618/ 910-1851 or [email protected], 704/ 582-9557) if you want to
sign up. For further information go to www.cabool.org , an under-development site dedicated to promoting the town specifically,
or www.caboolalumni.com.

Golf Tournament Being Planned
We are planning to have a golf tournament on Friday, May 25 in conjunction with the All School Reunion if there is enough
interest. All proceeds will go to the Alumni Assn. If you are interested in participating please send an email to
[email protected]. More information will be available on the alumni web site when it is available.
Classmates of the Class of 1981 met for their 30 year reunion on July 2, 2011 at Roberts Park. To get out of the heat for the
evening we met at the First Baptist Church fellowship hall for dinner and more visiting. The meal was catered by Mike Whittenberg
and enjoyed by all.
We had 29 classmates who attended overall, which was good considering the late start for planning and not getting letters out to
everyone in time. We opologize for not reaching all classmates. It was good to visit and catch up with those able to attend. We had
a good time watching a DVD slide show of pictures from yearbooks over our years at Cabool. It was interesting trying to match
faces from Kindergarten and on up. If you did not receive your letter, please send an update to us with an address. You may
contact:
