Back to Taormina. Lunch on your own and afternoon at leisure or enjoy an optional excursion (to be paid locally) to visit the village of Savoca the famous catacombs of the Cappuccini convent and Bar Vitelli - used in the shooting of the “Godfather” in 1971. Then, a scenic drive to Forza D’Agrò. Includes a walking tour through the peaceful streets, churches and cathedrals. Return to Taormina. Dinner and overnight at your hotel. (B, D) DAY 3 - SUNDAY - TAORMINA - SIRACUSA - TAORMINA Buffet breakfast at your hotel and depart to Syracuse to visit the archaeological area, including the Greek theatre, the Dyonisios Ear, the Latomie of the Paradise. The visit continues with the historical and baroque center situated in the Ortigia Island. Enjoy the beautiful atmosphere which covers this small piece of land. Time at leisure for lunch. Continue to Agrigento. Lunch on your own. Visit the Valley of the Temples, known for its well preserved Greek Temples. Continue to Palermo. Dinner and overnight at hotel. (B, D) DAY 5 - TUESDAY - PALERMO - MONREALE - (ERICE) - PALERMO Buffet breakfast at your hotel. In the morning visit of the town of Palermo that includes: the Palatine Chapel, the Cathedral of Palermo. Continue to Monreale to visit the Cathedral and its Cloister. Lunch on your own. In the afternoon, time at leisure to enjoy this Sunday afternoon in the Sicilian capital or possibility to participate in an optional excursion (to be paid locally) to Erice, medieval village of Erice, viewing the city of Trapani. Erice will draw our attention thanks to the tiny and stony medieval streets. (B, D) DAY 6 - WEDNESDAY - PALERMO - SEGESTA - MARSALA - PALERMO Buffet breakfast at your hotel and then departure to Segesta to visit the Doric Temple placed on a hill surrounded by beautiful landscapes. After the visit, we will continue to Trapani to view the salt windmills and then to Marsala. Marsala wine tasting and lunch on your own. In the afternoon, visit the small city of Marsala and back to Palermo. Dinner and accommodation at your hotel. (B, D) DAY 7 THURSDAY - PALERMO - CEFALU’ - CASTELBUONO - PALERMO Buffet breakfast at your hotel and departure to Cefalù, placed on the Northern coast and where we will visit the famous Cathedral. Lunch by your own. Continue to Castelbuono, a beautiful village on the Madonie mountains which will give us a slide of the Sicilian inland’s way of life. Return to Palermo.
