Gordie Brown Live headlines Tuesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. with a live band in the Golden Nugget’s newly named Gordie Brown Showroom. The property announced Brown’s signing to a multi-year headlining contract in September 2008, while he was touring North America with Celine Dion. Five species of sharks and various game fish encompass the 200,000-gallon shark aquarium, which is the centerpiece of the three-story pool complex, complete with waterfalls and a great water slide that speeds adventurous guests through the aquarium. The shark species include sandtiger sharks, brown sharks, Pacific blacktip sharks, nurse sharks and a zebra shark. There are also southern stingrays and a wide variety of large game fish in the colorful reef habitat. POKER GETS LUXURIOUS NEW DIGS AT GOLDEN NUGGET New Poker Room Unveiled LAS VEGAS - Luxury has no limit in the Golden Nugget’s new poker room. The poker room, which was relocated from the casino floor, to a newly-remodeled, semi-enclosed room, features 13 smoke-free tables with plush seating, first-class service and 24-hour action in an elegant, comfortable and intimate atmosphere. “The game’s popularity has diversified, bringing professional players, as well as those new to the game to the tables,” said David Tuttle, director of casino operations for the Golden Nugget. “Our new room will please all players, regardless of their level of experience.” Amateurs and professionals alike can buy-in to the $65 daily Texas Hold ‘Em tournaments, offered at 11 a.m., 3 p.m., 7 p.m. and 1 a.m. For those looking for instruction, lessons are held daily at 10 a.m. In April 2004, poker returned to the Golden Nugget after a nearly 18-year absence. LILLIE’S NOODLE HOUSE RENAMED; RESTAURANT AND MENU EXPANDED LAS VEGAS – Golden Nugget Las Vegas has expanded its popular pan-Asian restaurant with two hibachi-style teppanyaki cooking tables, additional seating, new menu items, as well as a new name. The new Lillie’s Asian Cuisine, formerly Lillie’s Noodle House, will officially open with its expanded seating and menu options Nov. 16. “The expansion of Lillie’s Asian Cuisine is an exciting addition that will benefit both the property and our guests,” said Saddiq Mir, vice president of Golden Nugget food and beverage. “We will continue to offer the fresh, handcrafted Asian selections that Lillie’s is known for, while introducing our guests to an entirely new menu of dining options with the teppanyaki grill addition.” Lillie’s Asian Cuisine, is already known for its delicious fusion of sumptuous Cantonese and Szechwan flavors with a Pan-Asian flair.
