Own Borax
Crystals
You will need: borax, boiling
water, medium or large jar,
pipe cleaners, string,
popsicle stick or pencil

ut the pipe cleaner into
three equal pieces and
twist these together
into a six-pointed snowflake
shape. Use string to tie the
snowflake onto a popsicle
stick or pencil so that when
the stick is laid across the top
of the jar, the snowflake can
hang freely without touching
the jar’s bottom or sides.
Prepare the borax solution.
Boil some water, and add borax
until it no longer dissolves
(3 tablespoons of borax for
each cup of water). Carefully
pour this solution into the
jar. Lower the pipe cleaner
snowflake into the jar and lay
the stick across the jar’s mouth
to hold the snowflake in place.
Leave the jar overnight and
you should see crystals in the
morning!
