Welcome to the “Sew Along” row exchange!
I designed this for my Friends on the FatCat Pattern Yahoo group, but you are more than welcome to play along, or even to start an
exchange amongst your own group. The concept is simple. Using the templates provided create a block that represents your sewing
space. Then personalize the signature square with your name, and favorite quilting quote. Trade these amongst your quilting group!
Specifically for FCP Yahoo Group Exchange:
This exchange will be fused only. Not sewn to your base blocks. This allows us to applique stitch ourselves and have consistancy
throghtout our finished quilt.
The base blocks ARE sewn together, leaving the siggy square unattached.
Use a fusible that is proper for machine applique.
Use permanent fabric safe pens for siggy squares.
Use good quality 100% cotton quilting fabrics. I will check blocks. Blocks that do not follow the rules will be returned unswapped.
The patterns are designed so you can mix and match the templates to create your own look. Feel free to add your own bit of
imagination to your blocks.
Below you can see some concept art showing different ways you can finish up your blocks into a quilt.
example – 2 rows of blocks with
siggies on outside edges.
example – two rows of blocks with
siggies on left.
example – three rows of blocks with siggies left off.
