HiViz is excited to announce the third generation of light-gathering handgun sights.
We have developed a cutting-edge new design that combines the durability of our
overmolded sights with the versatility of our interchangeable LitePipe sights. The
result is a sight with superior light gathering capability that allows you to choose a
color that best suits the lighting conditions or your personal preference.
This rugged new design shares many of the features of our other handgun sights
such as all steel construction, ramped and serrated sight blade and square profile
(see page 24). There are two important innovations in this new design. The first is the
skeletonized sight body giving it strength at or above the strength of our overmolded
sight. The second is the internal LitePipe lock. This locking feature is machined into
the sight body providing the highest level of reliability and longevity.

Determine Eye Dominance
Magni-Optic technology is only available
from HiViz Shooting Systems.
Magni-Optic technology aids target shooters by encouraging a two-eyes-open approach
regardless of dominant eye or which hand you shoot with. The result is more rapid target
acquisition, more accurate determination of distance and better hand-eye coordination. In short,
you’ll break more clays and break them more decisively.
The MagniComp and MagniHunter shotgun sights, manufactured by HiViz Shooting
Systems, combine a proven HiViz optical-grade resin LitePipe with a unique
magnifying chamber and lens. The result is a sight that is only visible using
the proper sighting eye and with the head in proper shooting position.
It’s the same concept as looking through a rifle scope. The only
way the sight can work is if the shooter’s head stays in position
and the proper eye is used.
And though MagniOptic technology is designed with cross-eye
dominance in mind, the sight assists all shooters. Because the LitePipe is
only visible when shooting form is correct, the sight helps ensure proper
gun fit and consistent head position—both essentials in shotgunning.

Cross-eye Dominance
It is estimated that over 40% of all shotgunners are cross-eye dominant. What that means is that
nearly 40% of right-handed shooters are taking directions from the wrong eye and missing to the
left as a result. The incidence of cross-eye dominance for left-handed shooters has been estimated as
high as 80%.
Magni-Optic technology from HiViz addresses the issue of cross-eye dominance whether or not your
eye dominance has been correctly determined. Simply put, if you shoulder a gun right handed, your
right eye should be doing the work and vice versa for lefties. Magni-Optic technology ensures correct
hand-eye coordination.

With both eyes open point your index finger at an
object across the room. Now close your left eye. If you
are still pointing at the object, as in #3, you are right eye
dominant. If it appears you are pointing to the side of
the object, as in #4, you are left eye dominant. There are
varying degrees of eye dominance, but this is the most
basic test. Previous solutions to cross-eye dominance
ranged from switching shoulders to obscuring the
vision of the offending eye. Magni-Optic technology
solves it instantly.
Gun Fit
In addition to solving cross-eye dominance, Magni-Optic technology can
improve EVERY shooter by ensuring proper head-to-stock alignment. If you’ve
ever looked through a rifle scope with your head out of position, you’ve seen
the Magni-Optic principle at work. A magnifying chamber and a focal point
lens work together so that you only see the picture when your sighting eye
is in proper position. Lift your head, the lights go out. Use the wrong eye to
establish a sight picture, the lights go out.
Two Eyes Are Better Than One
Like all HiViz sights, the point is to keep your focus on the target while your
peripheral vision and hand-eye coordination ensure that everything else is in
place. If the lights go out on your sight, your eye instantaneously sends the
message, “We’re not seeing what we need to see here. Don’t shoot.”
Whether misalignment is the result of cross-eye dominance, stock fit or lifting
your head, Magni-Optic technology makes the problem instantly evident and
aids in equally instantaneous correction.
For hunters, in addition to improving hand-eye coordination, Magni-Optic
technology on the Magni-Hunter will make you a safer hunter. By helping you
keep both eyes open, you’ll be more aware of your surroundings including
other hunters, dogs and flushing game.
If you’re sighting with the proper eye, you’ll see the image
on the left. If you’re sighting with the wrong eye the sight
won’t appear lit.

Patterning Shotgun Chokes
Patterning is the only way to accurately assess how your shotgun’s choke is
performing. Your modified choke may be giving IC patterns with your chosen
load, resulting in poor hits or wounded birds. Choke charts are available online
which express choke performance in terms of percentages of the total pellets in
a load still within a 30 inch circle at 40 yards. Further assessment is possible by
drawing a 20 inch circle (core) inside the 30 inch circle (annular ring). Comparing
the number of pellets within the core vs. the annular ring will clearly show if the
core is too saturated, leaving a weak annular ring or vise-versa. At least three
patterns should be assessed and averaged to conclude if the choke tested is
performing as expected.

A common mistake that causes more misses
than anything while turkey hunting is letting the
bird get too close. Todays choke tubes and shells
are designed to be most effective at 25-30 yards
and that’s where we designed HiViz sights to be
the perfect size on the turkeys waddles. Set your
decoys at 25 yards and if the bird hangs up a bit,
no problem!

fully adjustable windage and elevation rear sight with a dual height convertible front

rear sight with green LitePipes with a FlashPoint-style bead-replacement round front

C-Series Turkey/Deer
The C-Series is similar to the Tombuster II, but utilizes a magnetic front sight. Remove the
rear sight and use the front sight only for waterfowl or upland hunting. The C-Series front

Cold Weather Shooting
Waterfowl hunters face the problem of bulky clothing and many use a
shortened stock length to accommodate their hunting parkas. But what about
the shooter that needs to shoot in cold conditions early in the day, but warm
conditions in the afternoon without the bulky coat.
There is a simple little trick that can help quite a bit. Just moving your front hand
back an inch or two towards the receiver can make the gun feel noticeably shorter.
Using this hand position your gun will be one to two inches forward of your clothing
when you start your mount.

The Original Magnetic Shotgun Sight
HiViz was the first to offer a magnetic shotgun sight – the year was 1996. Since
then we have added many innovative magnetic sights, but after 15 years two
things have remained the same. All HiViz sights come with powerful rare earth
magnets and multiple color LitePipes. Don’t settle for an imitation.

Follow Through
There are three commonly
accepted techniques for achieving
forward allowance, or lead, on a
moving target. They are sustained
(maintained) lead, pull-away, and
swing (pull) through. Which one
you choose as your primary method is a matter of personal choice. However, in order to reach a higher level of
ability it’s a good idea to get comfortable with all three.
Some target presentations may be more effectively shot with a different technique than your primary style.
The springing teal is a good example. Depending on the other target in a pair you may have to attempt the
teal rising, at its apex, or dropping. A large percentage of shooters will employ swing-through on the way up,
sustained lead at the apex and pull-away for the dropping teal.
During your practice sessions you should practice with the different techniques on problem presentations and
see what works best for you. Regardless of the lead method you choose, follow-through is one of the most
critical elements of a successful shot.

configured and optimized for use with Remington shotguns. Includes six LitePipes

Recoil
Recoil, the unavoidable result of pulling a trigger, is the shooter’s arch
enemy. Rifle shooters refer to “pulling the shot”. Shotgunners call it
“flinching”. Whatever we call it, the accumulative affect of recoil causes
the subconscious mind to resist subjecting the body to yet another blow.
Preventing recoil issues is far easier than curing them.
A gun that fits properly and the use of light recoiling ammunition are highly recommended. However, the most
common accessory available to mitigate against recoil is a good recoil pad. A good recoil pad must be soft
enough to slow down and redirect the forces of recoil. It must also recover from its compressed state quickly
enough to be ready for a second shot. Proper shape and texture enable a pad to mount quickly but must offer
enough traction to prevent the recoil pad from moving on the shoulder between shots. All of the above attributes
are incorporated into the XCoil from HiViz. Now there is no excuse for taking heavy recoil.

Intended for use in law enforcement, military and home defense, the MPB
Tactical sight is the most durable and versatile tactical shotgun sight available!
The sight body is constructed of an overmolded steel spring, allowing it to
stay securely on a barrel with extended magazine and still be removable. The
interchangeable LitePipe is enclosed and supported to protect it from breakage
without obstructing the target. The MPB Tac self-centers behind the front bead
so there is no modification required. Reliefs in the side of the sight allow it to fit

Gun Mount and Drag
One of the most common errors is starting the mount
with the back hand. If the first move you make has both
hands lifting in an upward direction the gun butt will
hang-up under the armpit. The correct mount always begins
with the front hand pushing toward the target. Only after the
gun stock has started its forward motion should the back hand
begin lifting the stock towards the cheek. Perfecting a proper
mount technique will allow the stock to arrive consistently at
the cheek assuring proper rib-to-eye alignment.

The AR2008 gives you the unique ability to interchange our high intensity LitePipes (includes two
colors - green and red). This sight has a detent plunger which tightens the engagement between
the sight and detent, eliminating side-to-side movement. Fits all types of AR front sights – fixed
or detachable. Installation and adjustment can be done easily with the supplied wrench.
Similar to the AR2008 front sight, the AK2010 is both durable and affordable. The AK2010 uses
our unique interchangeable LitePipe technology and includes red and green LitePipes. Also
included is a sight tool that can be used to remove the original sight as well as install and make
sighting adjustments for the new sight.
The Benelli M12010 front sight is designed specifically to fit the Benelli M1, M2, M3, M4 tactical
and the Nova and Super Nova tactical shotguns with the ghost ring rear sight. The M12010
features interchangeable red and green LitePipes.

Like all HiViz sights, it combines fast
target acquisition with remarkable
brightness. The interchangeable LitePipe
ensures visibility in early morning or late

The UNI2006 rear sight mounts in a standard
3/8 inch dovetail and is suitable for replacing
the rear sight on many rifles, including most
lever action rifles as well as many bolt action
rifles. The UNI2006 comes with two
green LitePipes, and is both windage
and elevation adjustable.

The DOVM series of sights from HiViz are designed to replace front sights for all types of rimfire
and centerfire rifles that have a 3/8 inch dovetail front sight. Like all HiViz sights, they combine fast
target acquisition with remarkable accuracy. The bright LitePipe ensures visibility in early morning
or late evening hunting situations. The steel base is a standard 3/8 inch rifle dovetail. Available in
five heights: 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2". Includes six interchangeable .080" LitePipes in green and red.

Ruger® 10/22 Sight Set
The Ruger model 10/22 Combo is a front and rear sight set that includes a unique rear LitePipe
folding sight that allows the shooter to use a detachable scope mount without removing
the HiViz sights. All critical components are manufactured in steel to ensure proper fit and
longevity. The front dovetail sight comes with interchangeable LitePipes in various colors.
The Ruger 10/22 Combo is designed to replace the factory sight on standard
Ruger 10/22 long-rifle barrels.

Adjusting a Rear Sight
One of the easiest things you can do
to improve your shooting is to make
sure your rear sight is adjusted for
windage and elevation.
If your grouping is too far to the right,
move the windage adjustment to the
left. If the grouping is too far to the
left, move the windage adjustment to
the right. If the grouping is too high,
move the elevation adjustment down.

Close-Quarter Shooting

In extreme close-quarter shooting, accuracy is
imperative and speed is critical. When the target is
under 3 yards away, extend the pistol straight out and
with both eyes open, press the trigger while looking
over the sights.
The HiViz sight will greatly increase your speed and

Shooting Tip #7
Tactical Stance
The basic pistol stance is similar to that of a boxer. If you are right handed with both hands
on the pistol, your hips should be at a 45-degree angle in relation to the target. Your left
leg is forward, towards the target and right leg to the back. Your legs should be placed
at a comfortable distance from each other (about 12 to 16 inches) forming a triangle. You
should have equal weight distribution on both legs providing a comfortable standing
position. Your upper body should be parallel or square to the target with your head up and
shoulders slightly forward of your body. Your nose should be located directly over your toes
on your left foot. For left-hand shooters the stance is reverse of the right handed shooter.

the XCoil absorbs felt recoil more effectively than any other
recoil pad currently available.

shotgun loads, the energy pushing a projectile out the muzzle means magnum-level recoil
on your shoulder. The XCoil is the answer. XCoil’s composition also resists slipping when
