SPECIAL SABBATH PROGRAMS
Specially planned activities, lectures
and programs will be presented on
every Shabbat organized by the Jewish
Host on board. You will have a safe,
dedicated place for lighting candles
and for leaving your Siddur. Also
included is a Daily Minyan; Kabbalat
Shabbat and Seudah Shlishit; Shiurim
and on certain cruises, Jewish interest
lectures on a variety of Jewish topics
by renowned Jewish scholars, such
as Rabbi Berel Wein and others. At
selected ports of call optional Jewish
interest tours highlighting areas of
Jewish historical significance and
meetings with the local Jewish communities will be available. Naturally,
both ships have Sefer Torahs aboard.

OUR KOSHER CRUISE TEAM
Rabbi Shmuel (Stewart) Weiss,
our chief Kashrut Supervisor and
Rabbinical Coordinator, received his
ordination at the Hebrew Theological
College (Skokie Yeshiva) in Skokie,
Illinois and earned his master’s
degree at the University of Illinois.
Rabbi Weiss is the Director of the
Jewish Outreach Center in Ra’annana,
Israel, and serves as Rabbi of the
Ra’annana Absorption Center. He
frequently lectures on Jewish topics
in Israel, the U.S. and South Africa,
and is a regular contributor to the
Jerusalem Post opinion page. Rabbi
Weiss is a member of the Rabbinical
Council of America and a Mashgiach
certified by the Rabbinate of the
State of Israel. He has served as
Rav Mashgiach for Orient Lines
for the past three years.
Consultant Chef Malcolm Green,
scion of three generations of kosher
caterers, already had his own kosher
hotel in England at the age of 20.
He has hosted a radio program on
the BBC and his recipes have been
widely published in the U.K. Chef
Green and his family moved to Israel
in 1989 and, in addition to running
his own catering business and accepting
assignments throughout the world, he
has served as Orient Lines consultant
kosher chef for the past three years.
Chanoch (Howard) Rosenblum,
Orient Lines Jewish Interest Group
Host, is a resident of Jerusalem.
Rosenblum is a certified International
Tour Guide. He holds a doctorate in
history from Columbia University
and has lectured extensively. He has
the much sought-after qualities of
being both a professional host/tour
leader and an authoritative speaker
on Jewish history.

WHAT TO PACK?
Pack as you would for any resort. Cruise
wear should be lightweight and easy to care
for. By day, the mood aboard ship is casual sportswear is appropriate for both men
and women. Be sure to bring comfortable
walking shoes for shore excursions and getting in and out of the ship’s tenders.
A sweater or light jacket may be necessary
in the evenings. And don’t forget a bathing
suit, cover-up and sunglasses. After 6pm,
dressy sportswear, or your most comfortable
khakis, are appropriate. There will be one
“semi-formal” night per week where a cocktail dress or pant suit would be suitable for
women, and a suit or jacket for men;
ties are optional.
Remember to pack your Talit, Tefillin,
Siddur and Chumash.
WHAT JEWISH INTEREST ACTIVITIES ARE OFFERED?
As well as the normal activities offered
during your cruise, a full itinerary of lectures on a variety of Jewish subjects and
Shiurim will be given. In addition, optional
shore excursions will be offered at selected
ports of call featuring tours of Jewish and
general interest; details and prices will be
provided with your cruise documents.
Specially planned activities, lectures and
programs will be presented on board ship
every Shabbat. You will have a safe, dedicated
place for lighting candles and for leaving
your Siddur.
AT WHAT TIMES WILL WE PRAY?
Daily Minyanim will be held. The times
of services will be announced on board.
Both ships have Sifrai Torah on board.
WHEN ARE KOSHER MEAL TIMES?
Our glatt kosher cuisine is prepared
daily in our supervised, exclusively kosher
galley. Chalav Yisroel milk is available on
request. For Friday night dinner and Shabbat,
Kiddush wine will be available. Other
kosher wines can be readily purchased from
the wine steward. Your meals will be served
in a dedicated area of the dining room. The
meal times (subject to confirmation on
board) will be as follows:
