Grenada Wedding Documentation & Requirements
In order to be legally married in Grenada, there is documentation required as well as government requirements in their country.
Please read over these items carefully and advise us of any questions you may have.



















Residency requirement of 72 hours, including weekends and holidays, in addition to 1-3 days for licensing. Example:
Friday arrivals can be married on the following Thursday. Monday arrivals can be married on Friday.
Original state issued birth certificate or passport.
All pages of all court certified final divorce decrees
State issued death certificates with related marriage certificates
Legal name change or legal adoption documents if applicable
Sworn affidavit (or letter from a clergy man, Lawyer, Registry or Notary Public; must be on letterhead with
applicable notarization stamps, seals, etc.) attesting that neither party has not been previously married.
Please mail or fax photocopies (not originals) of the required documents for both the bride and groom at least 60 DAYS
prior to the arrival date.
Couples must hand carry all original state issued and/or court certified documents with raised/embossed seals & stamps
and with Judge’s or Court Clerk’s original ink signature.
A late fee of US$150 will apply for all documents received within 21 days prior to the arrival date
All Documents for both bride & groom must be submitted with a completed Wedding Information Form which is attached
or you may download from our website www.Sandals.com
All required documents are due 60 days prior to travel for ALL islands. A late fee of US$150 will apply for all wedding

A legal translator must translate all documents in a foreign language to English. Both versions must be submitted.
Wedding and ReTie the Knot dates and times vary and are subject to public holidays and availability.
Couples will only be married at the resort in which they are booked.
Additional fees apply for Catholic weddings. We are unable to provide a Rabbi to perform Jewish Weddings.
Restrictions may apply with availability of Minister/Justice of the Peace.
Setup/surcharges for additional guests above two apply and may vary by resort. Couples must notify the Wedding
Department at 1-877-SANDALS of number of guests attending the wedding at least 30 days prior to the arrival date.

Wedding Passes are intended for genuine guests and not third party providers of services. Use of third party vendors for

ReTie the Knot Documentation & Requirements

Selected country’s residency period applies. Couples must fax a copy of the state issued marriage certificate to the
Wedding Department at (305) 668-2762 and hand carry the original to the resort.
Passport Update: Effective January 23, 2007, the US Department of State and Homeland Security requires all travelers to and
from the Americas, Caribbean, and Bermuda to have a Valid Passport. Non-US Citizens should contact the airline regarding the
specific entry requirements that apply to their nationality.

The Vintage package is edited in an
artistic way and incorporates old
Jamaican and Caribbean music and is
also edited in chronological order but
is portraying a more nostalgic view of
the Caribbean.
Traditional
This is the traditional form of a
wedding video as everyone knows
it. It is edited in chronological order
and follows the string of events
with music added where fitting.
Contemporary
This is a modern form of a wedding
video with little audio. Only key audio is
being used as well as key background
noise. The video is edited according to
the music that was picked by the bride

What are the wedding sites on property?
Most of our resorts offer a beach, a garden and a gazebo location. The location is chosen at the time of your on-resort
consultation. Visit our website Sandals.com/weddingmoons to view samples of our wedding locations.
What flavors are available for the wedding cake?
You have a choice of vanilla, chocolate or Caribbean fruit.
When will I receive my marriage certificate?
Your marriage certificate will be sent via air courier within 4 weeks after your wedding.
What is the best way to travel with a wedding dress?
Any arrangement for transportation of a wedding dress should be discussed directly with your airline carrier.
Is there Tuxedo rental available in the island?
Unfortunately, we do not offer tuxedo rentals on resort; however some resorts have contact information for local
formalwear providers (varies by island). Keep in mind, due to the Caribbean climates, you may want to consider a light
weight alternative for the groom.
Who will assist me with my wedding once I arrive?
The Resort Wedding Team will be anxious to meet you and will be instrumental in making your dream day a reality.
When do I finalize my wedding details?
Details should be finalized 60 days prior to arrival; your Wedding Planner will guide you through this process.
Is my wedding legal in the country where I reside?
Yes, the marriage is a legally binding marriage. You should inquire with your local government regarding name change
procedures, etc.
Can I get married at a different resort than where I am staying?
No, you must get married at the resort where you are staying.
Is there a fee for the use of a personal wedding planner?
No, at Sandals Resorts, every bride and groom have their own personal pre-wedding and resort wedding planners as part of
the complimentary WeddingMoon® inclusions.
What are the different types of ceremonies I can choose from for my wedding?
A non-denominational minister customarily presides over our wedding ceremonies, however you may have a non-religious
ceremony (justice of the peace) or a religious ceremony at an additional cost. Please inquire with your wedding planner.
Are there any special inclusions for weddings with a group of rooms?
Sandals offers a number of exclusive inclusions for Wedding parties that have 5 rooms or more. Please contact our Groups
department at 1-800-327-1991 ext 46172 to get more information.
Can I bring down my own wedding décor items and favors?
We would not recommend this as there are custom laws that will require you to pay taxes and duties on these items or they
might be confiscated if they are deemed as commercial items. If you decide to take items down with you please note that
there is an applicable set up fee. Please speak with your wedding planner for full details.
Are medical/or blood test required to get married?
No, the island of Grenada does not require a medical or blood test to be performed.
