International Field Hockey Tour to Argentina: August 2006
Day 1: Depart USA
• Depart New York area international airport on a regularly scheduled airline to Buenos Aires
Day 2: Check In
• Arrive in Buenos Aires where our full time bilingual Harvard Sports
Argentina tour escort meets the group to transfer by private motor
coach to check in to the 4 Star Hotel Tribeca for a 6 night stay in
triple bedded rooms with private facilities
• Ideally located in the center of the Argentine capital, the Hotel
Tribeca is situated in a former luxury office building that was fully
renovated in 2002 and is fully air conditioned as well as boasting a
gym and outdoor jacuzzi
• Time to settle in and have lunch on your own
• Transfer later to local fields for training with the Montclair State staff
• Dinner at the hotel and a free evening
Day 3: Buenos Aires City Tour
• After breakfast depart for a guided tour of Buenos Aires
• Often termed the ‘Paris’ of South America, Buenos Aires is one of the continenťs most glamorous
cities. The main sites are in a relatively compact area near the old colonial heart of the city, the
Plaza de Mayo, established in 1580, including the Pink House, the Colon Theater, the Government
Palace, the worlďs widest avenue - ‘la 9 de Julio’ - with its ‘Obelisco’ monument. Also nearby is La
Boca, the city’s historical Little Italy, where El Caminito, a historical pedestrian zone is located
• Transfer this afternoon to local fields for training with the Montclair State staff
• Dinner at the hotel and a free evening

Day 4: De la Plata River Tour
Game 1
• Breakfast at the hotel then depart for a tour of Buenos Aires’
famous De La Plata River
• Board a private catamaran to travel through the Paraná de Las
Palmas Delta labyrinth of islands and inlets beautifully interwoven with rivers and strams
• Return to Buenos Aires to prepare for the tour’s first game
• Game 1: Montclair State vs. Buenos Aires Area Team
• Dinner at the hotel and a free evening
Day 5: Free Day & Tango Show
• After breakfast return to the training
fields with the Montclair State staff
• This afternoon enjoy free time to
explore Buenos Aires
• Return to La Boca or San Telmo - one
of Buenos Aires original colonial
districts, or walk along the riverfront in
Puerto Madero or an afternoon among
the plazas and cafes of Recoleta or
Palermo
• This evening enjoy dinner and entertainment at an extraordinary Tango show in one of Buenos
Aires’ premier Tango houses
Day 6: Palermo Hollywood
Game 2
• Breakfast at the hotel then depart for the Palermo district
• A catchall term for a rather large chunk of northern Buenos
Aires, Palermo encompasses Palermo proper, with its park
system and expensive homes, Palermo Chico and Palermo
Viejo (Old Palermo). Old Palermo further divided into
Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood, and Las Cañitas,
which is just to the side of the city’s world-famous polo field
• Spend time shopping in the trendy Palermo Hollywood area
• Return to the hotel to prepare for the tour’s second game
• Game 2: Montclair State vs. Buenos Aires Area Team
• Dinner at the hotel and a free evening
Day 7: Free Day
Game 3
• After breakfast enjoy a free day for final sightseeing and
souvenir shopping in Buenos Aires
• Transfer this afternoon to the final game of the tour
• Game 3: Montclair State vs. Buenos Aires Area Team
• After the game enjoy a farewell dinner party with our
Argentine opponents

Day 8: Return to USA
• After breakfast check out of the hotel and depart for Buenos Aires International Airport for the
return flight to the United States
