The Workforce Continuing Education School
of Cosmetology provides a structured, quality
education in an atmosphere that encourages
all students to achieve their career goals.

Learn the art of cosmetology, and prepare for
the N.C. Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners
certification exam.
The Workforce Continuing Education School
of Cosmetology is an alternative to a
Cosmetology Associate Degree for those
individuals who need training to enter
the workforce sooner or need a flexible
schedule and be able to work while they
acquire their cosmetology training.

Prerequisites
1. Must complete a special Workforce
Continuing Education Cosmetology
Program application.
2. High school diploma, official transcript
or High School Equivalency Program
(formerly GED)
3. Must register for the Career
Readiness Certificate (CRC*), and
must score a Bronze level to qualify
for admission.
*The Career Readiness Certificate is a
portable credential that demonstrates
achievement and a certain level of
workplace employability skills in applied
mathematics, locating information, and
reading for Information.
What do you get out of it?
•You will be able to perform the latest trend
of hair care services, natural nail services,
basic skin care services, and demonstrate
exceptional customer service skills.
•You will be able to perform salon business
operations at the front desk and inventory
control in the dispensary.
•As a graduate, you will have the knowledge
of State safety and sanitation procedures
used for the protection of the client
and operator. This will lead to having
the necessary skills to pass the North
Carolina State Licensure Written and
Practical Exams required for receiving your
professional Cosmetology license.

•The average income is $16,200 to
$46,500 per year.

Fast-track to workforce! Natural Hair
Care Specialist Training Leading to
Certification.
Individuals interested in becoming a Natural
Hair Care Specialist must complete a minimum
of 300 hours of training and certification
in an approved program, per the North
Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Arts. Upon
completion of this training, you will be eligible
to sit for the North Carolina Natural Hair Care
Braiding License Exam.
If you are already practicing or want to learn
how to become a professionally licensed
Natural Hair Specialist, then this course is for
you. This course consists of:
