Bubba Bateman
Inducted into the Hall Of Fame
for the Texas Field Archery Association
Earle W. Bateman, IV, was inducted into the Hall Of Fame
for The Texas Field Archery Association at The Twelfth Annual
Hall Of Fame, held at the Waco Convention Center on February
27th. Bubba, as he is known all around Canyon Lake, is a Certified Level II Archery Instructor at Archer’s Haven Field and has
been an archer most of his life.
The E.W. Bateman & Co, a family-owned business for 50
years, moved to Canyon Lake 35 years ago. Located in Fischer
across from Canyon Lake High School, the company that makes
custom quivers, gloves and tabs is now recognized internationally. Bubba offers archery lessons on the property that also is
home to Archer’s Haven, a non-profit organization chartered by
the National Field Archery Association.
Archer’s Haven Field Archery Club was established in 2007.
The club’s goal is to promote the sport of archery in all aspects,
indoor and outdoor. Archery is a family sport for life, for all
ages. The club is directed by a president and an eight member Board of Directors. The practice range and walk-thru target
range are operated and maintained by dedicated volunteers as
well.
Archer’s Haven is a family-oriented and membership-only
club that actively seeks new members who are like minded and
love the sport of archery.
Bubba has dedicated his life to the sport of archery––one
he has worked to promote and to master. Bubba was recently

Spring into the Light
The rafting experience on the cover this
month is a Doris Cain photo from years ago that
anticipates spring and the fun that the Guadalupe
this year may bring. The benefits from heavy
rains that follow a record breaking drought are
many, as long as too much doesn’t fall at any one
time. The lush greenery of the backdrop that we often take for granted
stuns many visitors who are new to the area this time of year. Rain
blesses us with a lot of color.
With the month of February––normally one of our two colder
months...if there is such a thing as normal in Texas weather––warm
enough to pass for spring, our burst of wildflower color arrived early
in March. And it’s spring that brings us out of our winter caves and
into the light. Anticipating the righteous weather ahead, local nonprofits have made plenty of plans to draw you out to mingle and mix
and meet.
Easter Sunrise Services sponsored by area churches is held at
Overlook Park at the Dam at 7am and is an outdoor event every individual and family should experience. Easter Sunday is March 27th
this year.
On Sunday, April 17th, Dinosaur Day at the Heritage Museum
brings an extra treat this year. A newly discovered track bed means
you can be one of the first humans to view dinosaur tracks that have
been covered for a 100 million years!
On Saturday, April 23rd, The First Baptist Church hosts a Women’s Conference, Drink at The Well, with nationally recognized
speaker and author, Mindy Ferguson.
From 5 ‘till 8pm, Fischer Follies offers dinner and a variety show
at Cowboys for Jesus, across FM 32 from Canyon Lake High School
to benefit the renovation project for the historic Fischer Store School
Community Center. Head to the Rec Center from there.
That Saturday night, April 23rd, CRRC invites you to a Boot
Scootin’ Dam Tootin’ Dance at the Rec Center until 10pm with talented Bret Graham whose music will get you off your seat and onto
the floor whether you’re wearin’ boots or not. The concession and bar
will be open so you can dine, dance and drink and not miss a beat.
Winding up the month on April 30th, the Canyon Lake Area
Chamber of Commerce holds their major fundraiser of the year at
Jacobs Creek Park on FM 306. Around 30 cookers usually sign up
for the BBQ Cookoff to compete for bragging rights as the Best
BBQ in Canyon Lake. Awards span from chicken to ribs to brisket to
showmanship and the most unique pit that spark the creative juices of
cooks who add fanfare and fun to the fire. Yummy desserts to enjoy or
take home are always a hit. Held along the shoreline of Canyon Lake,
it’s a grand place to appreciate spring before summer’s heat takes
hold. Taster tickets sell for only $1 each and the entry fee per carload
is cheap. Take the entire family for a day full of fun.
All these events are organized by caring folks to benefit the community, your fellow man and you. Join in and participate. You won’t
meet anyone new just sittin’ at home.
“We in America do not have government by the majority.
We have government by the majority who participate.”

Dinosaur Day
The newly acquired dinosaur track bed will be open.
Yours can be some of the first human eyes to ever see them exposed!
by Sara Norton
On Sunday, April 17, 2016, from noon until 5pm, come to
The Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country and attend
“Dinosaur Day.” The event is held at the museum located
at 4831 FM 2673 between Sattler and Startzville at Canyon
Lake. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 5
to 12 years. Children under 5 are free. All proceeds go toward
the museum’s operating costs, including preservation of the
dinosaur tracks that includes a recently discovered track bed!
Sponsors for the event this year are Riverside Resort and
Brookshire Brothers Grocery. Their contribution is greatly
appreciated.
This family friendly event has something for everyone guided tours of the dinosaur tracks including newly acquired
tracks not seen by the public before, and hourly presentations
by “Dinosaur George” Blasing, a paleontologist and animal
behaviorist with over 35 years of study and research. He is
a public speaker, writer and television personality who has
performed live to over 3 million people and lectured in over
3,000 museums, schools and public events. He was the writer,
co-creator and host of Jurassic Fight Club on the History
Channel.
Visitors will have the opportunity to have their collection
of rocks and fossils identified by knowledgeable museum
members. There will be children’s activities, and a food
booth with “dinosaur dogs” and homemade dinosaur
cookies.
The museum and gift shop will be open that day.
Exhibits include Native American artifacts, history of
Canyon Dam, Pioneer Room with tools and household items
from the past, and a Communications Room with the post office
front from Spring Branch and early communication equipment
from GVTC. The museum has two gardens; the Cretaceous
Garden has plants similar to ones that grew in the Cretaceous
Period and the Heritage Garden with native plants and models
of old farm machinery reminiscent of pioneer Comal County.
For more details, call the museum at 830-899-4542.

“How do I pay my light bill?” “I need
school clothes for my kids.” “I just need a little
extra to get me through the month!” “Where
do I find extra money?”
Most Americans face similar problems at
some point, unsure where to turn or what to do when money gets
tight. From paying costly doctors bill to small loans needed for diapers, pawn shops are here to help. Pawn shops have been around
since Queen Isabel The Catholic pawned her crown jewels in the
14th Century to keep up the Siege of Baeza. Pawning continues all
around the world still today.
So…how does the process of pawning work? First, you bring in
an item of value––anything in brand new packaging needs to have
a receipt of purchase.
Most pawn shops have a system to determine how much they
loan on a particular item, but you don’t have to accept the offer the
pawn shop gives you. You can haggle the amount of the loan like
on the popular show Pawn Stars.
Second, you need a valid ID (not expired) which can be a Driver License, State ID card, Military ID, Passport, Mexican Consulate ID or Texas Concealed Handgun License when pawning in
Texas. After agreeing on a monetary amount, the pawn shop enters
a detailed description of the item to ensure you get back the same
item in the same condition.
Before you sign the pawn ticket, the pawn shop goes over the
due date (first 30 days), principle amount, finance charge (charged
daily second month), the total required to get the item, and also the
last day of grace. If you don’t come back in the allotted time, the
pawned item becomes property of the pawn shop unless you renew
the loan or pay for an extension.
Other ways to pay on your loan are by renewing your loan, redemptions (taking the item out) or through extensions (paying for
extra days of grace). The most common method of payment is cash
but some do accept debit cards in the state of Texas.
Make sure to put your pawn ticket in a safe place! Anyone who
finds that ticket can legally take your item out if they have the
pawn ticket and the money owed.
In this day and age, not everyone has a bank account, credit cards, or the credit to get a loan to help them out. Sometimes
pawning is just for a couple of days to make it to the next payday.
If you do get in a bind, don’t be shy about going to the pawn shop
to get a loan; a lot of folks do. Just go into one and check it out.

The pawn shop process
The Home Staging train has arrived
In Texas, it began in the big cities first.
Homes in Dallas and Houston have been
professionally Staged to prepare them to sell
for many years now. Austin caught on about
three years ago. Now the Hill Country, New
Braunfels, San Antonio and sellers right here
at home watch the Home Staging train as it arrives. Even in a seller’s market, Staging is an important factor that helps sell the home
for the most profit and in the shortest amount of time.
A U.S. HUD study concurs; it found that Staged houses sell
17% higher. A survey by the Real Estate Staging Association recently found that professionally Staged homes were on the market
72% less time. Bankrate.com offered the most compelling statistic: they report that the “Staging Return on Investment average is
586%.” Yes, 586%. These statistics confirm why Home Staging is
becoming mainstream for motivated Realtors and sellers nationwide: staged homes sell higher and they sell faster.
Professionals know that price and presentation sell a home. Using cost-effective, creative techniques that enhance your home’s
appeal, Home Staging ensures the best presentation possible. According to the National Association of Realtors, 95% of buyers
search online first. Strong photos that boost the home’s appearance
online is what drives traffic to view a home that’s for sale. You
never get a second chance to make a first impression.
Home Stager Mikaela Rios, our very own Hill Country resident, wants to help you make your home’s first appearance on the
market it’s best. One home she staged recently sold in eleven days!
Her continued success has made Home Staging her primary line of
business. She can also assist with photos and posting them online.
featured business
A Hill Country girl at heart, Mikaela was raised in Horseshoe
Bay and San Antonio. In 2006, while living around the world as a
Navy spouse, she started her Home Staging and Professional Organizing business. Finally settled in the Hill Country again, she’s
glad to be home.
Homes often sell faster when they’re turnkey, or in move-in
condition, because the best buyers who can act faster often don’t
have the time or willingness to undertake a fixer-upper or a home
that looks dated. A professional Home Stager can guide sellers
of any home through the presentation process and advise the enhancements that best prepare it for market––that help it sell well.
Savvy home sellers seek professional advice to ensure their
home is prepared to show at its best. Mikaela is confident she can
help local Realtors and sellers maintain the competitive edge they
need––now that the Home Staging train has arrived. All aboard!

Announcing Jones & Sullivan, PLLC
Attorney Charles Sullivan with his
wife, Ann Sullivan , CPA
It is with great pleasure to announce
the opening of Comal County’s newest law firm: Jones Sullivan PLLC. My
great friend and colleague, Gina Jones,
and I made it official February 1. We
had been working on some cases and
referring each other clients for some time. We also added another
fine young lawyer Ryan Vickers, formerly an Assistant District Attorney for Comal County. The partnership provides Comal and the tri-county area with a
full service law firm to provide for all our client’s needs. Gina and I
are going to continue to office as we do now at 200 N. Seguin Street
in New Braunfels, and 308 Campbell Drive at Canyon Lake. Ryan
will primarily work out of the Canyon Lake office, but will spend a
good bit of his time in New Braunfels as well.
Together our primary objective of getting very best results for
our clients will continue. The change will allow Gina (Not Guilty)
Jones to concentrate more on her criminal defense, and allow me
to focus more on the Civil, Family, Business, and Probate litigation. Uncontested Probate and Estate Planning will remain a focal point of our firm. Our staff consists of Office Manager Tammy
Cumpston, Legal Secretary/Assistant Office Manager Alyssa Ellis,
Certified Legal Assistants Kevin Sullivan and Paul Crown, Legal
Assistants Emily Coleman (to be certified May 2016), Lori Hernandez (also working on certification), Ashley Coleman, and jack-ofall-trades Paula Braden. Tammy, who has been with my office for over seven years (ex-
by Charles Sullivan
cept for a lucrative spin in the Landman business in the Eagleford
Shale), manages our case load and works primarily in Probate, Wills
and Estate Planning. Her experience as a Landman has been invaluable to our contested Probate cases. Contested Probate usually involves at least some property title issue. Her title research experience
has helped and continues to do so in obtaining our client’s rightful
share of their inheritance.
Lori is the Family Law Assistant in the firm who is responsible
for trial preparation in the Family cases (civil)––which sometimes
unfortunately wind up in Court. Sullivan & Associates family trial
on the merits record is second to none. Paul and Kevin do our legal
research and work primarily with me on all forms of Civil Litigation. Alyssa keeps it all together in invoicing, scheduling, and in general whatever needs doing. She graduated with a BBA from Forbes
Business School, Ashford University, and was on the Dean’s list
seven consecutive semesters.
Some milestones for S & A are 2.3 Million Dollar Arbitration
and Judgment in 2013; 2.5 Million Dollar settlement in a Premise
Liability and Personal Injury case in 2014; in 2015, 5 Million Dollar

Gina and I are Longhorns from the Class of 1994 and 1977 respectfully. Ryan is a 2006 proud fighting Texas Aggie from Crowley
High School in the Fort Worth area, who was in A&M’s Alpha Zeta
Honors Fraternity. The three of us graduated from St. Mary’s University getting our Juris Doctorate in 2002, 2007, and 2011. Gina

Space does not allow to expand on a couple of things: Gina’s

and I are close high school friends with Gina’s Aunt Mary––a Forest

Dinosaur Day at the Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country will be held from Noon to 5pm on April 17th this year, the 3rd
Sunday in April. Although many activities on Dinosaur Day are
focused around kids, adults enjoy the day learning about these fascinating creatures. Adults like to bring their favorite fossil or rock
that they’ve kept so long because it’s so interesting and an expert
at Dinosaur Day will help identify it!
The Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country is located at 4831
FM 2673, between Sattler and Startzville, and is open 7 days a week
from 1-5pm during winter months, with extended hours during summer. For more information, call the Museum at 830-899-4542.

Depending upon the quality of your
water supply, water treatment systems can
range in size from compact units designed
to be tucked away in a small closet to multiple pieces of equipment requiring a large area. Within that wide
selection of specific needs, equipment options, system designs and
installation methods may vary as well.
Often a system has been modifled over time with plumbing
repairs, and the addition or replacement of equipment. In many
cases, these modiflcations are done in a way which makes the installer’s job as easy as possible. Simply connecting a brand new
softener to an existing maze of old pipe or running unsupported
pipes at odd angles to connect a new piece of equipment are examples of shortcuts that reveal a lack of concern for the finished
product. The end result is a pieced together system which makes
service access difficult and therefore may require more time that
costs money. , Often visibly awkward, the patchwork typically
takes up far more space than necessary.
While the operation of the equipment and the product water
quality are the most pressing concerns, it is almost as important
that the system be simple and streamlined to eliminate problems
that arise when maintenance or service is needed.
You should discuss the work to be performed with the technician, addressing any concerns you may have about the current system; clarify the scope of work to be done. If a piece of equipment
is to be replaced, ask how the new connections will be made and
how the removed parts and old unit will be disposed. Many times,
the equipment will be simply left in the immediate area for the
homeowner to handle disposal.
Performing work beyond a simple ”cut and paste‘ installation
obviously affects the equipment dealer’s bottom line, but it’s reasonable to expect your water system to be carefully planned and
installed in both a user-friendly and space-efficient manner. It usually takes a little more time and requires a few extra fittings, but it
can make a world of difference when the technician puts forth the
extra effort to simplify the system.
If you’re concerned about the treatment equipment you currently have, a trained and licensed professional can suggest ways
to improve the layout, performance and overall efficiency of your
system. Simple efficiency is not too much to ask

It’s BBQ time! Time to round up your BBQ
pit, your pit crew, and your taste buds for the
18th Annual Canyon Lake Area Chamber of
Commerce BBQ Cook-Off. This spectacular
event will be held on Saturday, April 30th
and you won’t want to miss it!
The Best of the Best come from all over the state of Texas to
compete in this cook-off. Teams are judged on their entries in four
categories: chicken, ribs, chef’s choice and the coveted brisket
category. Winning teams can win trophies and, more importantly,
bragging rights! Teams can begin signing up now, but it’s on a first
come, first serve basis and space is limited, so call the Chamber
today to reserve your spot!
Oh, but wait. There’s more! The cook teams aren’t the only ones
that get to participate in all the fun. We love to get the public involved, as well. Taste-tester tickets will be on sale for only a $1
each. The taste-tester ticket gives you the honor of sampling from
any of the participating cook teams. You pick what team looks good
to you and give their sample a try, and all it costs is one ticket!
Another event that is a sure crowd pleaser is the “Canyon Lake
Famous Silent Auction.” Auction items are needed. This year’s auction items promise to be a delightful mix of unique, creative, and
one-of-a-kind treasures. We also have a local band, the Texas Hill
Country Outlaws, that will be playing from 11am to 2pm. Then, to
wrap up the afternoon, the BBQ Cook-Off Awards Ceremony will
be celebrating the “Best of the Best” and handing out awards. Come
cheer for your favorite team!
This event is held to support the Canyon Lake Area Chamber of
Commerce. The Chamber operates primarily on membership funds,
and the cook-off income provides a very important supplement to
our operating budget. As our community has grown, so have the
responsibilities of the Chamber, and we want to be able to continue
supporting our members and our area in all of their needs! Want extra publicity for your business or group? Be a sponsor! Sponsors will be recognized through many forms of promotions on their behalf, and they will receive their own set of perks –
tickets, t-shirts, logo on event banner, etc. Get your name out there.
Call the chamber for more details and to become a sponsor!
Our beautiful venue will once again be in Canyon Lake at Jacob’s Creek Park. The park is located on the north side of the lake
off of FM306. Turn on to Jacobs Creek Park Road (signs say Joint
Base San Antonio at Jacobs Creek). Continue straight until you
reach the gatehouse. Go straight and follow the BBQ signs, volunteers will instruct you where to park. There is a fee per car load to
get into the BBQ; doors open at 11am. Kim Corolla is the Executive Director for the Canyon Lake Area
Chamber of Commerce, located in the Visitors Center. For more
information, Kim can be reached at 830-964-2223 or 1-800-5282104 tollfree or visit CanyonLakeChamber.com.

Caring for your new
puppy or kitten
Damuth Homes, Inc.
Committed to Excellence
by Ryan Bullock, DVM
Here are a few pointers for new puppy and
kitten owners for families who have acquired
new pets. Whether you purchased your puppy
from a breeder or adopted it from an animal shelter, the advice
given to pet owners from breeders and shelters isn’t always as accurate as we would like.
1) Take your new pet to be examined by your veterinarian as
soon as you can after adoption. This should be done even if vaccines are not due or if you are told that vaccines are “current.”
There are many more things a veterinarian checks on your pet
other than vaccines. Plus, many times breeders or shelters are not
correct with their vaccine protocol or unable to offer all vaccines
needed. Besides making sure your pet is healthy, your veterinarian
will also have a lot of great advice about raising a puppy or kitten.
2) Have your veterinarian perform an intestinal parasite test (fecal test) even if the breeder or shelter has “dewormed” your pet or
performed their own testing. Intestinal parasites are very common
in puppies and kittens (50% are positive) and the over-the-counter
dewormers used by breeders/shelters don’t usually work as well as
something your veterinarian uses. Hookworms and roundworms
are very common and can infect people – usually small children
who forget to wash their hands. Puppies and kittens many times
also have intestinal infections with protozoal organisms such as
coccidia and giardia that are not treatable with dewormers. Oh,
and help your new little buddy out and try to remember to bring
a fresh fecal sample to the vet. This will save the clinic staff from
having to “get” the sample.
3) Feed a high quality “puppy” or “kitten” food. Puppies and
kittens need a higher fat content than adults because they are
growing so fast. Adult foods are not ideal in supplying puppies
and kittens all they need during this critical developmental period.
Don’t worry about getting a grain free, gluten free, etc diet as it
is virtually impossible for a puppy or kitten to have developed an
allergy to these ingredients. Three brands that I recommend are
Hill’s Science Diet, Eukanuba, and Royal Canin.
Congrats on your new puppy or kitten; follow these tips and those
of your veterinarian and you’ll be starting off on the right paw!
Ryan Bullock, DVM, and Keith Leakey, DVM, are the owners of Canyon Animal Clinic (830-964-3696) and Canyon City Animal Hospital
(830-964-3551) in Canyon Lake and Hunter’s Canyon Animal Hospital (830-632-6075) in New Braunfels, all full service primary care veterinary hospitals. Jeff Quinn, DVM, Stephanie Horstmann, DVM, and
Kirstin Hossalla, DVM, complete the Canyon Lake veterinarian staff.
Dr. Bullock works fulltime in the New Braunfels clinic, 1/2 mile W of
the new HEB. Visit www.CanyonVet.com for information on all three.

Whence came the Apaches:
“There is nothing wrong with change, if it is in the right direction.”
~ Winston Churchill ~
Part IV - The Cavalry
Keep Canyon Lake Beautiful
by Bobby Beddoe, MS
Secret US Army plans devised by the Interior
Department concerning the rounding up, dismounting and disarming of the Mescalero Indians of the Great Plains Region was put into motion early on in 1880
and gained such support and momentum that within a few months,
the citizens of the Texas Hill Country could live in peace at last.
My brief anthropological sketch describing how this US Government covert activity unfolded follows:
Before, and even after, Mescalero Chief Geronimo surrendered
his band in 1886 to the US War Department, there were still a few
Mescalero Apaches causing trouble in the region that had to be
dealt with, namely, Mescalero Chiefs Victorio and Nana.
The Buffalo Soldiers of the 10th US Cavalry––stationed at Fort
Concho in the 1880’s and assisted by the 9th US Cavalry––were
issued the orders to round up and disarm the Mescaleros. As it
turned out, unfortunately, due to the stubbornness of the renegade
Chiefs, “round up” by and large translated into “annihilate.”
A government-issued secret scheme was set in place and orders
were sent out to all military forts along the Rio Grande and further
west to cut off the Apache’s rations and supplies issued to them.
This infuriated band leaders Victorio and Nina to a point where
they––and all their fighting men––concentrated themselves in a
wild and nearly inaccessible canyon in the Guadalupe Mountain
Range where Victorio set up his field headquarters.
The cavalry, with better than a thousand men, were no match
for the less than one hundred hostile fighters who, after a nightlong struggle with shots fired by both sides––although not fired in
serious anger. By daylight nearly all the Apache combatants gave
up and began walking toward the Mescalero Agency.
Under guard, the army began collecting the Mescalero’s ponies
and arms with the promise that it all would be returned to them
after peace was restored. Meanwhile elements of the 6th Cavalry
linked up with the 9th and the next day surrounded the remaining
Apache holdouts.
Great damage was inflicted on the retreating warriors with an
estimated dozen or more killed before Victorio, Nana and a few
warriors escaped by nightfall. They headed to the Tres Castillos
Mountains south of El Paso only to be finished off by the Mexican
Army. But the story doesn’t end there... more next month.

CRRC makes plans
CRRC of Canyon Lake continues to move
toward the construction of a new resource
building. It’s possible the groundbreaking will take place early this
summer. But, there are some fun things coming up before then!
• On April 23, we’ll hold our second Boots Scootin’ Darn
Tootin’ dance with Bret Graham. Just $10 cover gets you in for
four hours of dancing and fun. The concession stand and bar will
be open, so come spend the evening with us at the Rec Center for
dinner and dancing!
• On May 14, the 2nd Annual Huge Garage Sale will be held
from 9-4 at the CRRC Rec Center. If you’re spring cleaning, or
cleaning out your own garage, you’ll find a great customer base
here. If you’re a garage sale shopper, you’ll find all the garage sales
you need in one stop for more than a day’s worth of bargains.
• On June 25, the 5th Annual Party for the Pantry dance will be
held at the CRRC Rec Center. The Mo-Dels will be back to bring
us that ol’ time rock ‘n’ roll, swing, disco, country – the best of
our favorite dance tunes. This annual fundraiser provides a great
backdrop for an air-conditioned dance in the middle of summer!
Reserved tables of six or eight can keep your fun-loving group together but there’s plenty of open seating available too.
Make plans. Save the Dates on your calendar, now!
The CRRC Rec Center is located below the dam at South Access
Road on Mabel Jones. For more information about the Community Resource & Recreation Center (CRRC), call 830-964-2324.

Dr. Franklin D. Watts
The following article was written by Sharon
Miley, a former professor at Texas State
University, San Marcos, and two time Oxford
Round Table presenter, University of Oxford,
England. We are proud to have her as a
member of Hill Country Bible Church.
Last month, we considered Jesus of Nazareth as historical reality, not myth—as a real man whose life and death were documented by eye-witnesses and religious and secular historians of
the time.
What about claims of Jesus as Christ (Savior); was He or
wasn’t He? My students at Texas State generally had no idea that
major world religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism,
Buddhism, “New Age”) acknowledge the historical man Jesus (at
least) as a good man, great teacher, and/or prophet.
Christians alone view Jesus as Christ, Savior, as God of the
Universe who came to earth as a man to save humanity from the
penalty (eternal death) of their sin with His (substitute) death on
the cross. God’s promises of salvation and reconciliation are available to believers in Jesus Christ; the resurrection of Jesus in His
glorified body verifies God’s promise of eternal life for believers.
While Christian beliefs seem to stretch credulity for non-believers, views of Jesus as a “good man,” “great teacher,” and/or
“prophet” while denying Jesus as Christ are really the incredulous, illogical and inconsistent beliefs.
One example: Jesus repeatedly said He was God. Say what? A
man claiming he is God! What do we call him—crazy, a lunatic, a
liar? But wait, if a person is crazy, a lunatic, a liar, how can he be a
“good man,” a “great teacher,” a prophet? What can we learn from
a man unhinged from reality? Why strive to be like him?
And yet, the man Jesus has been worshiped and revered as God
for over two millennia; billions of human lives have been changed
by believing in Him as Savior; and untold millions of people the
world over have died or been willing to die for Him and their
faith.
So who was/is this man Jesus of Nazareth? According to the
great Christian scholar C.S. Lewis, Jesus, by claiming He is God,
must logically be considered a lunatic or liar unless we also accept
Him as Lord, Christ, our Savior. Jesus can be the model “good”
man, the greatest of all teachers, the prophet whose record was/is
validated by history long after His death and resurrection, only if
He is also Christ, our Savior.
Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes
in Me shall live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
I submit to you that historical and logical evidence support Jesus of Nazareth as Christ—as a reality, not myth. Do you believe
this? An eternal destiny awaits your answer...

“The money was all appropriated for the Top in hopes
that it would trickle down to the needy.
Mr. Hoover didn’t know that money trickled up.
Give it to the people at the bottom and
the people at the Top will have it before night, anyhow.
But it will at least have passed through the poor fella’s hands.”
