aple Systems, Everett, WA, has released three Gold Series panel PCs in contoured 10” models. All models
feature Intel processors and are preloaded with Windows XP Pro. The fully functional PCs run most Windowscompatible industrial software applications. The touchscreen interfaces feature high-resolution, high-brightness
TFTs. The models come equipped with a 1.5-GHz Intel Celeron M CPU, and employ a high-speed Ethernet port, two
USB ports, and two serial ports on the 10” model. With a 80-GB hard drive and 256 MB of flash memory, each model is
expandable with numerous options. All models are made with an anodized aluminum bezel, and electro-galvanized steel
chassis, and a motherboard designed for harsh manufacturing environments. Applications include remote data entry,
remote monitoring, and applications that require support for multiple devices.

Embedded operating system. The Open HMIs
are uniquely positioned in the HMI market,

Web Studio™ is a powerful HMI/SCADA industrial
software package designed and produced by
InduSoft®. For many years we have enjoyed a close
partnership with InduSoft, and we’ve found the
software to be fully compatible with our Open HMIs
and our Panel PCs.
We are very excited to support the new Web Studio
version 7. It employs powerful development tools
that enable you to create supervisory applications
that operate on multiple operating system platforms. This feature-rich application gives you the power to
create your application exactly the way you want it.

Operating System
and Run Time License
The Web Studio v7 development software
supports Windows XP (SP3 or later),
Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server
2003 and Server 2008. The development
software is used to create the project that
resides on the OIT and operates the target
industrial system.
In addition to the Panel PC and/or Graphic
HMI and the user-created application project,
each target system requires one Web Studio
runtime license in order to operate the project.
The target system must have one of the
operating systems mentioned above or one
of the following: Windows XP Embedded,
Windows Embedded Standard 7, or Windows
Embedded Compact (also known as Windows
CE 5.0 or later).

Serial Connection
Most models support three serial ports. Each
serial port communicates to a unique PLC using
the assigned communication driver. Easy to
configure, simply assign a PLC to each port and
select the proper communications driver to use
for that PLC. The HMI connects to multiple
PLCs simultaneously. This is particularly useful
in applications that may require a PLC and
motion controller.

screens, 16 or 24 user-definable keys, and a user-definable
keypad legend, these MicroOITs fit perfectly in any

Choose Your Own Keys
The MicroOIT Series lets you choose the exact keys that your application requires. With the
user-definable keypad feature, it is easy to have the exact keypad layout you want -­ - whether that
includes function keys, a number pad, no keys at all, or almost any combination you can think of.
Choose from the following key types: Global Function Keys, Screen-Dependent Function Keys,
Numeric Keys, and Control Keys.
Global Function Keys
You can configure up to 16 global function keys. Each
global function key can display one of 500 user-definable
screens or simulate a momentary or push-on/push-off
mechanical switch.
Screen-Dependent Function Keys
Screen-dependent function keys allow you to define how
they operate in each of the 500 user-definable screens.
With 8 available, you have the equivalent of 4000
function keys.
Numeric Keys
For applications that require data entry, the 0 to 9 and
+/- keys are available.
Control Keys
Many different control keys are available including:
Enter, Clear, Help, Page Up, Page Down, Alarm Ack. and
Jog Keys. With these you can tailor the operation of the
OIT to the requirements of your application.
