TEAM GRADES
Senior Jonah Harris, sophomores Chase Howard, Jackson Miller, Riley Tindell, and Ben
Turker, and freshmen Sean Bowden and Cade Conklin each had perfect 4.0 GPA’s to lead
the baseball program in fourth quarter grades. Seventy-eight percent of the baseball
players earned a 3.0 GPA or better, up 18 % from fourth quarter last year. Ninety-two
percent of the player grades raised or stayed the same from third quarter, up 12 % from
last year.

Mike Clopton
Alpenrose Dairy Red Sox (22-26), finished 4th in
the Zone 2 American Legion League this year. They
won two and lost two at the Super Regionals held
in Dallas, losing to Regional winner DeMarini Post
20 Dirtbags (Dallas). Brendan Freeman led all
hitters with a .345 batting average. RBI leaders
were John Venables with 27 and Matt Harvison
with 24.Venables had four wins and a 3.58 ERA to
lead the pitching staff. Jonas Hanna had a 3.64
ERA. Andrew Gazeley (4.32 ERA), Tommy Harvison
(5.54 ERA), and Zach Johnson (4.34 ERA) had three
wins each. Other team members were Cole Conklin,
Jay Howell, Jonathan Lee, Orlando Lorang, Garret
Scheckla, Matt Strang, Liam Wogan, and Zach
Wogan. Evan Shreeve and Ben Turker played in
some Alpenrose games.

JAKE’S CRAWFISH AMERICAN LEGION
Jake’s Crawfish was Zone 2 League Champions and
advanced to the State Tournament in Medford. Losses to
North Medford and LaGrande eliminated Jake’s from the
Tournament. Jake’s defeated North Coos at State in a 7th
inning come-from-behind that took 12 innings.
Sean Haxby led the pitching staff with four wins and had
the lowest ERA at 3.53. Lukas Glass (6.38 ERA), Connor
Japport (6.70 ERA), and Evan Shreeve (6.77 ERA) each had
three wins. Michael Wagemann (.372) in 17 games played
led all hitters. Ben Turker (.343), Shreeve (.337), Haxby
(.333), and Alec MacDonald-Factor (.329) were the other
top hitters. Other team members were Evan Charlone,
Zach Madsen, Luca Mallon, Nick Slenning, Peter Swanson,
Perry Taylor, Riley Tindell, and Bernard Villagomez.
Jake’s was coached by Jeremy Shetler, Nate Grisham,
Ryan Arditi, and Kevin Shimomaeda. Phil Johnson and
Arun Reimer helped coach at the State Tournament.

JAKE’S/WILSON D-2 JR. STATE
Jake's/Wilson finished 4th in the D-2 State Tournament at
Willamette of Eugene, and won the Wayne Oliver
Sportsmanship Trophy. They were League Champions.
Cade Conklin (.406) led all hitters. The other top hitters were
Garrett Leeper (.385), Noah Keough (,341), and Laddie Wirth,
Jr (.328).Conklin led all pitchers with an eight wins and one
loss record and a 1.41 ERA. Chris Butcher (5-1-1) had a 1.78
ERA and Leeper (2-3-2) a 2.17 ERA.
Other team members were Sean Bowden, Wesley Crawford,
Nat Gurnee, Clay Hunter, Matthew Jacobsen, Samuel
Kidoguchi, Alex Sabo, Caleb Seely, Alex Taff, Jack Williams,
and Petie Wogan. Nick Slenning (.333) played with
Jake’s/Wilson at the State Tournament.
Jake’s D-2 was coached by Phil Johnson and Arun Reimer.

GOLF RESULTS

Seventy-one Baseball Alumni and Friends of Wilson Baseball played in the 24th annual Wilson baseball golf
fundraiser tournament. Tournament sponsors were Carl Cadonau, Jr., Alpenrose Dairy, and Joe Driggers & Julia
Sherman, Bashor’s Team Athletics. John Phillips, Grand & Benedicts, sponsored the golf carts. The scramble
format tournament was held at Meriwether National Golf Course in Hillsboro on Sunday, July 13th. A box lunch was
provided by Ken Kvarnstrom, West Hills American Legion Post # 66, and dinner was provided by Jake Hammer,

ALUMNI GAME REPORT
Gerhett Moser was perfect at the plate in Game # 2
with three hits and five RBI’s to lead the odd-numbered
years Alumni to a 9-4 win over Alpenrose Dairy Red Sox.
Arun Reimer (2 RBI’s) and Toby Harris (1 RBI) each had
three hits. Evan Dunn had the only hit for the evennumbered Alumni in a 9-0 in Game # 1. Frosty Comer,
class of 1962, made his annual appearance as the most
experienced Alumni player participating.
Alex Massar pitched three innings to earn the win in
game # 2. He allowed two hits and had three K’s.
