Our elegant Music Room is licensed as a
venue for your civil ceremony, with capacity
up to 80 seated guests.
The room opens on to the East Portico and
private lawns.

tansted House is a very special
wedding venue. This beautiful house
in the forest sits at the end of one of the
longest beech avenues in the country and
enjoys superb views over open countryside
in all directions, yet is conveniently situated
between Chichester and Portsmouth.
Our history began as a hunting lodge in
the 11th century. After a disastrous fire,
an elegant Edwardian mansion was built
on the footprint of the 17th century house,
and Stansted Park became the family home
of the Earls of Bessborough in 1924.
Although the family no longer lives here,
the state rooms are furnished as if the
Earl was at home, and we love to hear the
Bechstein grand piano in the Music Room
being played for a wedding. It really brings
the house to life.

tansted Park can be yours for a day.
All our bookings are exclusive and
every wedding is different – we have a
beautiful private setting for a ceremony in
the Music Room, the option of a blessing in
the lovely Chapel, a reception, a wedding
breakfast, or a marquee party – any
combination that suits the Bride and Groom,
their family and from 20 to over 200 guests.
The approach to the house is along a private
forest drive, where in the course of a year
the beech woods change from the vivid
greens in spring to beautiful autumn tints.
The ancient private chapel stands beside
a sunny walled garden. In winter it is
surrounded by drifts of snowdrops, and then
clouds of daffodils that make a super setting
for your photographs. In autumn tiny wild
pink cyclamen bloom here.

with experienced advice throughout your
planning and during the Big Day.
We also have contacts with experienced
and excellent local suppliers from whom the
Bride and Groom can choose any option for
a reception or party.

newly refurbished rooms that contain
splendid historic collections.

Visiting by road:
Stansted Park is signed from the A3M (exit J2 Emsworth, go south) and A27 (exit Havant, go north) between
Chichester and Portsmouth.
Choose the Private Entrance (for office appointments, meetings, weddings, private events and coaches dropping
groups off at the House): follow signs to Stansted Offices.
