That’s not the estion. mpetition - Challenges students to be the best ds students accountable for developing their formance in a non bias and highly competitive vironment olves a high level of commitment and skill to ieve the goals of the ensemble at a state level courages: Pride, Precision, Excellence Drawbacks - Cost Time Commitment Sports / Outside activities conflicts on - Competition Instills a desire for the student to be “their” best. Not “the” best Encourages : “Pride” “Spirit” “Confidence” and “Excellence” Flexibility in performance schedule Volume of literature is increased and varied thru out the season Everyone has a spot. - The only Prerequisite is a willingness to participate Drawbacks Students that would like the challenge of competition do not have the opportunity Due to the volume of students there is limited time where they are all in the same place at the same time Students ARE the center of all we do! Our Vision for the Future Marching Band Fall / Spring Hawks Marching Band Everyone that wishes to participate and satisfy their arts credit by enrolling the class has a spot on the field Fall Parades Football Games / Hosts Bandtoberfest Community Events and Outreach / Annual Band Trip Black and Gold Members can still participate at football games in the stand / parades they can attend. All Students in the instrumental Music Program in the Spring Black and Gold Marching Band Participates in the NYS Field Band Conference in the Fall A Part of the Larger Hawks Marching Band Placement by audition / availability Participates from summer - Nov. 1 through their competitive season Hosts “Crystal City” Competition ut what about?..... Music Education, Music Therapy, Sound Design, Communications, Sound Production, Music Merchandising, Sound Mapping/Environmental Band Uniform Design We have been working with DeMoulin Uniforms and one of 4 designers Rob Depp on the design. We sent him colors / clip art and the Logo information for the Hawks this past summer/fall We were given 3 base designs and after some review and adjustment we have come to the following design for the Main Uniform We have been asked to have a “Final” design by Band Parents in 2011 the West High Band Aides incorporated a C-PP Band Aides Inc. to prepare for merger Responsible for the Moral, Logistical, and Financia Support of the Bands Upon the Merger both organizations have set a goal of contributing $15,000.00 to the new group i order to have $30k of assets to begin the 20142015 school year Needs Increased Communication with... • staffing • stipends • curriculum • our vision for the future Feedback Questions?
