We lost a key advocate for the Winthrop Harbor Lions, as well as a revered community leader in S.A. Jimmy Harris. We endured many growing pains as a club. As your leader, I vow to steer the ship in a course of action and direction that ensures we maintain the vision of Lions Club International, as well as the Winthrop Harbor Lions Club. Community Service is at the core of this, as this will ensure our voice rings strong and has a steadying influence on the surrounding community. As we move forward, I feel it is important to get back to basics as a club. Join me in looking forward to a bright future as we prepare for the A message from Jeff Storey, our president. Our original organizers explored and learned about different organizations and unanimously agreed that the community needs could be best served with a Lions Club. Through the years, the members of the Winthrop Harbor Lions Club have been involved in many projects for our local communities. Today, the Winthrop Harbor Lions organize and run many annual events: Steak & Eggs breakfast, the Winthrop Harbor Easter Egg Hunt, Candy Days for the Lions of Illinois Foundation, a Rummage sale, blind fishing, just to name a few. And, of course, there is our weekly BINGO games held at the Schlader Building each and every Wednesday evening. Because of our combined efforts, we have been able contribute over two million dollars to serve the needy in our community and further Lionism around the world. Come and join us. We’re making a difference and you can too! Winthrop Harbor Lions is part of Lions Club International, the largest service organization in the world. Winthrop Harbor Lions Club P.O.
