committee is contributing useful
support to the translators.
03 Churches are using the
newly produced trial editions
of Scripture in their discipling
activities.
Worth more than …
Studying. Drafting. Team checking. Consultant checking. Editing.
Reviewing. More editing. The translators are immersed. The
community is involved. Why all the effort? What benefits result?
Even eternal life?
This Book is worth more than gold. (For examples, see Psalm
19:10 or Psalm 119:127.)
This Book yields priceless benefits. John wrote, “But these are
written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the
Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life by the
power of his name” (John 20:31 NLT).
One man — Hosea, who was the assistant secretary of the district
church council — resigned his position to work full time with
the Waja Bible translation project. He left his former job with
the agreement of his wife and family. Also a pastor and teacher,
he became involved in translation in 2007 during the Luke
Partnership. That’s a program that includes the translation of the
Gospel of Luke along with the “JESUS” film. He says he derives joy
when discussing God’s Word and searching for meaning.
Baja team members joined those from other language groups at a workshop.
Their goals: 1) increase involvement of the church and community and
2) create effective plans of impact for the translation work.
Acts 13:3 in Waja
“Go̱ro̱ pu pma ni̱nga co̱ji̱ yi̱ ku̱ru̱, pma ce̱rman pma wari̱ a tum
pma.”
“After they did fasting and prayers, they laid their hands on them
and sent them.” (Literal English back translation from Waja)
“So after more fasting and prayer, the men laid their hands on
them and sent them on their way.” (NLT)

Pray For Your People
01
02
Heavenly Father, may harmony
rise in Nigeria. May tolerance
and understanding replace
misunderstanding and mistrust.
May even traditional enemies
dwell together in peace. O Lord,
we pray without ceasing.
Lord God, please instill wisdom in
the translators and in the committee
members. Raise up community
support for this project. May men
and women encourage all these
workers, please.
03
Father, we long for revival in the
churches of Waja. Please visit this
land. May holy fire burst into flames
of consecration and joy. We ask in
Jesus’ Name. Amen.
