How to Use 65mm mustang TB- By: jrak123 So my recent conversion has peaked some intrest so I here is a How-To: Start off with stock 2.5L Tb and a Mustang Gt Throttle body: I have them both completely taken apart in this picture below. Tap a M6x1.0 hole in the tab that sticke out of the side of the throttle body for the progresive throttle asy. remove the throttle cable cams from both throttle shafts. Then weld the one from the 2.5L throttle body onto the throttle shaft of the 65mm Tb Then install the shaft into the throttle body Then install the M6 stud for the progressive throttle and the progressive throttle cam. Make sure you expoxy the idle speed bleed or your car will idle way too high Also take note, the throttle blade has to be installed upside down Now for the bracket: You have to take the part of the bracket that bolts to the 2.5 TB and bend it back on its self and slightly bend the middle of it to line up with the lower right hand side hole. Then I cut a peice of stainless tube about 1.5" to use as a spacer for the bolt/bracket Then I took a few washers and ground them down to fit on the top side of the throttle body to act as the throttle stop, you have to bend the throttle cam over slightly and then bend it in some. You want it to just touch as the throttle blade is about to close. Also remove the throttle speed screw from the bottom of the TB. This part that sticks out acts as a throttle stop for WOT. With this mod you use the stock throttle bracket, cable, and TPS from the 2.5L throttle body. Also this can be done on the stock intake, but you would have to do some porting work to clear the throttle blade.
