St. Maartensvlotbrug rd-H Ka olla na al n d s Petten Welcome to Amsterdam Noordzee 1 This flyer provides an overview of campsites located in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area, all of which offer pitches for tents, motorhomes and caravans. They also have modern hygiene facilities, electricity, good transport connections and many extra services, such as chalets, restaurants, shops, canoe or bike hire. Whether you desire some rural intimacy, family activities or on-site live music and parties, there’s something for everyone. Please note that wild camping is not permitted in the Netherlands, but plenty of official campsites let you get up close with nature. In the summer season when campsites are often busy, it is advisable to check availability and perhaps make a reservation before your arrival. Happy camping! I www.iamsterdam.com Schellinkhout Rustenburg Alkmaar Egmond There are many motorhome- and campervan-rental companies in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. The Dutch are enthusiastic motorhome users, which means there are a huge number of sites with great facilities all over the country – including dedicated sites in and around Amsterdam. Main roads in the Netherlands are wide and well maintained, and the rules of the road and markings are pretty much standard throughout Europe, with just a few exceptions – and watch out for all those bikes! Avoid taking your motorhome or campervan into city centres, especially Amsterdam, as the streets are extremely narrow and parking is difficult. For information on service spots and campsites visit www.campercontact.nl, which gives detailed stopover locations for motorhomes and campervans.
