A sincere thank you to Wayne Therrien for donating his time & labor with the barn repairs. There are many people for whom it does not occur to register in the parish. Why is registration important? Registration enables us to communicate more effectively with you. Registration is a form of covenant commitment to the parish family. Do I have to register in the parish in which I live? Technically, your “proper pastor” is the one who has oversight of the geographical area in which you live, (the “territorial” definition). However, a major commentary on Canon Law suggests a shift at Vatican II from emphasizing “territory” to emphasizing “persons.” Hence, a parish is, primarily, “a community of the Christian faithful.” In truth, our practice reflects this second point of view. We turn no one away if they wish to register. In either case, remaining anonymous and uncommitted is not envisioned in the Bible, Canon Law or Church theology. How Do I register? Simply call our parish office and we will send out a welcome packet containing information and the proper form. You may also speak to the priest after Mass on the weekend. Don’t be bashful…Register today! No Drop In – Laser Gate ---- There will be no Drop In this Mon. evening May 13th because we will be going to Laser Gate in Fall River. The price is $3.50 per game and we usually get in two games. Bring extra money for any snacks or arcade games you may want to partake in. We will have to leave the camp house at 6:00 in order to make the night work. We will return at 8:30. If you haven’t let us know if you are coming please RSVP today so that we can arrange transportation. Festival Work Parties ----- Lots of hands make little work. Every Sat. morning from now until the festival there will be work parties down on the field. They start at 8:00am. Come help out and have fun while doing it. Share your talent, learn some new skills. Bring a friend, bring 20 friends. For more information about SJN Senior Youth Ministry, contact Bill and Sue Furtado at 508-763-4359 or e-mail us at [email protected] All permission slips are available at Drop Ins, online, and outside the Youth Ministry Office in Neumann Hall. Troop 333 - Important Upcoming Events You are invited to two notable events on May 18th by Troop 333. Please join us for a solemn Flag Retirement ceremony at 3 PM in front of the Camp House.
