Our Chamber Red Coats just attended an
open house event at the new River Valley
Assisted Living Center located in Russellville.
Although the new Buffalo Wild Wings
restaurant has been open for almost two
months now, business there is still booming. The new Wasabi
restaurant is scheduled to open later this summer. The new Walmart
Neighborhood Market has an August grand opening planned. The
new Phoenix Street overpass bridge just opened. Rockline Industries
has completed their purchase of the former Goody’s Family
Clothing distribution center building and is already advertising
employment opportunities. ConAgra Foods is putting the finishing
touches on their most recent expansion of their manufacturing
operations and is now looking for qualified people to fill
approximately 80 new positions. The new Ross Dress for Less store
is now alive and doing well in the Valley Park Center.
And have you been able to make it to any of the exciting events
going on in the area? How about the Bassmasters Elite Series
fishing tournament at Lake Dardanelle State Park; or the RussVegas
Half Marathon; or the Miss Outstanding Arkansas Teen Pageant; or
the Balloons over RussVegas festival?
Obviously, I am missing several other events but there just isn’t
enough room for me to mention everything going on around the
River Valley.

POM of Russellville - One of Five Companies Honored with Exporting Award
POM recently received an award for Excellence in Global Trade from the Arkansas District Export Council. The Arkansas
DEC (www.arkansasexport.com) is a private, non-profit organization, whose members are appointed for four year terms by
the Secretary of Commerce, which brings together experienced international business people who provide support, advice,
and assistance to Arkansas companies interested in entering into or expanding into international markets.
Five Arkansas companies that do business overseas were honored at the fifth-annual Governor's Award for Excellence in
Global Trade awards luncheon. The export awards, presided over by Gov. Mike Beebe at the Governor's Mansion, honor
Arkansas companies that take a leading role in global trade.
This year's winners:
• Arkansas Steel Associates of Newport, Large Manufacturer Exporter Award
• Triangle Engineering of Jacksonville, Medium Manufacturer Exporter Award
• SweepScrub.com, North Little Rock, Small Manufacturer Exporter Award
• POM Inc. of Russellville, Arkansas Rising Star Award
• Harris International of Springdale, Global Sustainability Award.
The export awards are sponsored by the Arkansas District Export Council, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission,
the U.S. Commercial Service and the Arkansas World Trade Center.
ADEC Chair William Burgess told Arkansas Business that the unsung heroes of the state's business world are those Arkansas
companies engaging the global market.
"One in five jobs in the state is related to international trade," he said. "That's 327,000 jobs. With a slow recovering economy,
Arkansas companies and manufacturers have started looking outside our borders."
Award winners are selected by ADEC members, who represent state business leaders and are appointed to the council by
the U.S. Secretary of Commerce. Judging criteria for the awards includes most recent percentages of export sales to total
sales, growth of export sales over the past three years, the company's international goals and commitments, and the number
of jobs saved or created through a company's export performance, where applicable.
POM -- Park-O-Meter -- was recognized with the Rising Star Award as an up-and-comer in Arkansas exports. Recognized
as producing the first parking meters, POM now manufactures meters able to accept digital and credit card payments.
Congratulations to POM and all the employees for their hard work and dedication to expanding their market!
Rockline Industries Announces Expansion into Russellville
Manufacturer purchases Arkansas plant
As part of a planned expansion, Rockline Industries has acquired a nearly 240,000 square foot facility, on a 30-acre site, in
Russellville, AR. This aligns with the growth strategy to meet the growing needs of contract manufacturing and for the consumer
demand of private label products.
"Rockline's purchase of the Russellville site will help our company better serve the needs of our customers and accommodate
our company's rapid growth in contract manufacturing and private label products," said Nick Santoleri, vice president of
operations, Rockline Industries. Rockline currently operates four US manufacturing plants in Arkansas, New Jersey and
Wisconsin.

2015 Board Nominations Being Accepted
The Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting
nominations for the Board of Directors. These individuals
provide leadership to the Chamber by setting overall policy,
which in turn affects the future of our community. We
encourage you to nominate Chamber members to serve on the
Board of Directors. All nominations must be submitted by
Monday, September 8, 2014 by 5:00 p.m. to be considered by
the nominating committee.
As stated in Article III, Section V of the Chamber bylaws,
the committee is to nominate from the general membership as
many candidates as vacancies on the board of directors. All
candidates must be in good standing. In selecting said
nominees, the Committee shall consider, among other things,
that the Board should be fairly representative of the whole
membership of the Chamber.
Any individual receiving the nomination of five percent or
more of the membership shall automatically be placed on the
slate of candidates. Contact the Chamber for more information

The Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce is now
accepting applications for the 2014-15 Leadership
Russellville Class. The deadline to register for this years’ class
is Monday, September 22, 2014 at 5:00 p.m.
The Leadership Russellville program is designed to identify,
educate and motivate potential leaders to become involved
in the future of our community. The program is aimed at
developing a pool of well informed and well motivated men
and women qualified to assume present and future
leadership roles in the Russellville area. This nine month
program kicks off with a mandatory overnight retreat in
October and ends in June. A graduation luncheon is held to
showcase their community project to their peers. There are
fourteen sessions that include programs on government,
education, quality of life, healthcare, industrial development,
non-profit agencies, team-building and leadership training.

The Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce is happy
to offer family-friendly movies at Lake Dardanelle
State Park in front of the Visitor’s Center. This summer
will mark the eighth season of Sunset Cinema. Sunset
Cinema is an outdoor movie theater experience, which
operates during the summer months of June and July.
The cost is $1 per person, children under 12 are free.
