Immediate Past Chairman Dr. Leonard Notto ‐ Notto Chiropractic Health Notes from the President From time to time I still get asked “just what does the Arkansas Valley Alliance do?” So, since I serve as the President of the Alliance I would like to tell each of you a little more about the organization, our mission and our positive impact on our communities. A Treasurer Todd Sweeden ‐ Sweeden Florist At Large Seth Coulter ‐ Coulter Physical Therapy At Large Gregg Long ‐ Crafton Tull At Large The organization was formed in 1996 as the Russellville Economic Development Partnership, Inc. (REDPI). The name was later changed to the Arkansas Valley Alliance for Economic Development, Inc. Todd Meimerstorf ‐ Arvest Bank The two main missions of the Alliance are to recruit new industry to the area and to do everything possible to assist our existing industries with expansion opportunities and secure those projects locally. The results of our recruiting efforts speak for themselves… 10 new companies creating 868 new full-time jobs. But even more impressive are the results of our work with existing manufacturers. The Alliance has assisted local industries with 48 industrial expansion projects. These expansion projects have created 2,518 new full-time jobs and brought about the investment of hundreds of millions of dollars in our community. Barton Allen || First State Bank A Scott Hill || Simmons First Bank Since 1997, the River Valley Region has received $5,076,939 in grants as a direct result of the Alliance’s involvement. 100% of this money has been invested in the River Valley. a Our success would not be possible without the support of local governments and businesses. The communities of Atkins, Dardanelle, Pottsville and Russellville as well as Pope and Yell Counties are all involved in our recruiting efforts and provide funding for the Alliance. Additionally, the Alliance has over 40 dues paying members from the business community. Let’s not overlook the contributions made by the forty-five or so major manufacturers employing over 8,000 people in the River Valley Region. We are sincerely thankful for your continued support in securing a prosperous future for the area.
