Fall, 2009 - Columbia County Chamber of Commerce
A Publication of the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce FALL 2009 GREETINGS COLUMBIA COUNTY BUSINESS COMMUNITY It has been a pleasure serving as the Chamber’s Executive Director since mid April. There are three things, I believe, that make a Chamber successful: 1) a professional and friendly staff, 2) a highly focused and member connected board of directors and 3) a community minded and active membership. We are fortunate to have all three. We are also fortunate to have a remarkable history that has given the Chamber a positive momentum. It is awesome to stand in our conference room and see the pictures of our prior Chairmen who are responsible for where we are today. For those of you who are active with the Chamber, you have seen the energy at our SuCCess Columbia County Style events, Hot Topics/Hot Coffee, the Professional Development Luncheons and the numerous Ribbon Cuttings with excited business owners opening new businesses or celebrating anniversaries. If you have not been involved, may I recommend to you, traditional storefront and home based businesses, to call and get involved in our Professional Development Luncheon/Business Expo/Job Fair coming up on October 20th. The Chamber office offers a monthly New Member Orientation that explains the many benefits and details of membership. Other Chamber events and offerings include trips to China and Greece, our new “Kay Bucks” coupon program, generating over 2,500 referrals to Chamber businesses every month, the Blue Cross Blue Shield Group Discount Jim Tingen, President & CEO Columbia County Chamber of Commerce Plan, the Chairman’s Circle and many more. Please contact the Chamber office for details about these and other programs. My wish is that every business owner and key employee will join the Chamber. I have had the privilege to meet many of our active members and community leaders and this has been an honor for me. I look forward to meeting many more of you in the days to come. I appreciate the people of Columbia County and our dedicated staff and I look forward to effectively serving you this year. Please call or visit us. Here’s wishing you SuCCess, Columbia County Style!
