About the Chamber
A small group of business professionals in the Grovetown area attended a
special Chamber Membership 101 class
at City Hall in early December. These
businesses learned how the Chamber
works and how they can maximize their
benefits as new members, such as using
the Chamber’s website and other
resources to their advantage.
These businesses were among 19 in
Grovetown that became members of the
Columbia County Chamber when the
Grovetown Merchants Association
dissolved in October. The Chamber was
then invited to take on the administrative
and organizational responsibilities of
the group. Grovetown Councilman
Sonny McDowell and Columbia County
Chamber president and CEO Tammy
Shepherd finalized the financial details
at Queensborough National Bank in
Grovetown.
Starting in January 2011, business
meetings will be held bi-monthly in
Grovetown to focus on the development
and networking opportunities for those
businesses. Charles Bennett, of
Queensborough National Bank in
Grovetown and also a Columbia
County Chamber Ambassador, will
spearhead the meetings. If you would
