Holistic Nursing with Aromatherapy and Essential Oils
Come learn about the therapeutic use of essential oils and aromatherapy from Avena Botanicals'
representative Kwah Wa'Adabisha and UMA's own nursing faculty member Jo-Ann Cole. All are
welcome to explore this complementary/alternative healing modality. It's a brown bag Lunch and
Learn, so munch the lunch you bring, as you learn! 11:45am-1:30pm, Monday. Nov. 12, Klahr rotunda
(adjacent to the Katz library) on the Augusta Campus.

UMA Augusta Campus - Celtics Game!
Boston Celtics vs. Los Angeles Clippers in Boston on Sunday, February 3, 2013! Sign-ups start
Tuesday, November 13 at 8am. Tickets are $60 for Students, Limited number of tickets available. Limit
1 ticket per student, must show student ID and pay at time of sign-up.
Itinerary: Bus leaves UMA at 6am for Portland to Board Amtrak Downeaster at 8am. The game starts
at 1pm. Departure Train leaves Boston at 8pm heading back to Portland and then bus back to
Augusta Campus.

Great American Smokeout Lunch n' Learn
Thursday, November 15, from 12-1pm in RSC 138 (Augusta Campus), come engage with our guests
from the American Cancer Society, enjoy FREE lunch, and get info and resources about tobacco use.

Curling in Balfast!
The Belfast Curling Club is hosting college curling! We make up teams as necessary, so come as you
are. You do not have to be experienced, most students who are curling have never done it.
Schedule: Every Sunday from Nov. 18th - Dec. 9th from 1:00-4:00pm and on Saturday Dec. 8th from
1:00-4:00pm. Your first session is free! You'll get an overview and then start curling. Subsequent
sessions are $10 per person for three hours.

French Club Meeting Dec. 3rd!
The next meeting of the French Club is Monday, December 3rd from 12-1pm in Jewett Rm 189 on the
Augusta campus. Join us! You don't have to speak French to be part of the club! We are planning a
fundraiser concert on Feb. 2nd and will be selling crepes. We are also planning a trip to Quebec in
May.

CRU meets weekly, Wednesdays 12pm to 1pm in the Student Center on the Augusta campus, rm. 250

Book Drive for Kennebec Jail
The Office of Civic Engagement is sponsoring its second annual book drive for the Kennebec Jail. The
drive will run for the entire month of November. Please do not donate books that are hardbacks or
romance novels (special request from the inmates)! Help those who only have time on their hands.
