Welcome to Calabasas High School Theater Boosters!
Dear Cast, Crew, and Parents:
Theater Boosters is a parent run organization which helps support and
promote the theatrical productions at Calabasas High School. Our organization
provides the opportunity for all to enjoy many entertaining productions such as
Fiddler on the Roof, Noises Off, Bat Boy, Beauty and the Beast and most
recently, Flowers For Algernon. To continue the success of the theater program
at Calabasas High School, parental involvement is absolutely essential and
truly appreciated!
Please look through this packet and notice the time sensitive material,
such as the Program Ad and Business Ad forms. All of the students look forward
to seeing their ads in the program to keep as a wonderful memory of the show –
don’t let your student be left out! Also, we are requiring that each family
bring in at least one business ad, as we depend on these funds to help
pay for our program.
With every production, we could not survive without parent volunteers to
help with costumes, props, concessions, programs, donations, hospitality and
tech. If your talent lies in any of these areas, please sign up to volunteer! We
need YOU!
Our students greatly appreciate all of the hard work and dedication by all
of our parent volunteers. Without your participation and interest, Calabasas High
School would find it difficult, if not impossible, to maintain the high quality
program it offers to students in both the artistic and technical aspects of live
theater.
In addition to providing support for the many productions and festivals,
the Theater Boosters raise money for improvements to the theater itself,
including the sound system, lighting, and the general upkeep of the theater. We
also provide scholarships to seniors who are part of the theater program.
Please consider contributing to our Website Sponsorship Program
and/or our Theater Donor Drive, which encompasses donations made to our
donor wall. For more details, please refer to the enclosed letters in this
information packet. What a memorable way to honor a student, family or
business and to leave a lasting legacy at our school, while at the same time
supporting the CHS Theater program!

Theater Boosters Membership Dues
We would like to invite you to be a member of our Theater Boosters family! Calabasas
High School Theater Boosters is a non-profit organization which helps promote and
support the Theater Program at Calabasas High School. In addition to assisting in the cost
of productions, the Theater Boosters tirelessly raise money to help improve the theater,
including the sound system, lighting and general upkeep of the facility. Most importantly,
we are always trying to bring in professionals to continue educating our students in all
facets of the theater. We are constantly searching for new materials for classroom use and
we also give scholarships to seniors who are part of the theater program.
To become a voting member of the Theater Boosters, please fill out the bottom portion of
this sheet and attach a check for $50.00. Not only does your donation give you voting
rights within the organization, but you are also helping to insure the best possible
educational environment for your students.
Please make checks payable to CHS Theater Boosters. All checks should be received no
later than October 22. Please give your check to Mr. Garrett or use the mailbox in PA2 to
drop off your payment.
We look forward to having a cohesive group of Theater parents all working to better our
program. Our Booster meetings are the first Tuesday of every month. We hope to see
you there!

Dear Calabasas High School Theater Patrons:
For over 30 years, our illustrious Theater Program has continued to serve the needs
of our talented students, providing them with the best educational theater throughout
Southern California. We turn out confident young actors who are accepted into the
finest colleges across the nation, where they continue to grown in their chosen
specialties. We have continually invested in the finest specialists, upgraded
equipment and provided top rated workshops that have helped to create an
environment where our students can explore every facet of the theater and hone in on
his or her greatest strengths.
Our brilliant Director, Bill Garrett, is at the core of this award-winning program,
giving each student his own combination of gentle yet direct guidance and unlimited
individual attention. He has an uncanny ability to find each student's strengths and
help them grow and realize their own acting and musical talents.
This year we want to concentrate on the following:
· Equipping our existing theater with new sound and lighting technology that
can also be utilized in the new facility.
· Continue offering interesting workshops and bringing in specialists to allow
our students to flourish as young actors.
· Fund many of the positions that support our program, such as technical
director, make-up specialists, wardrobe coordinators, and more.
· Cover transportation costs for Comedy Sportz workshops and DTASC
festivals.
· Provide scholarships for graduating Seniors who have been active within the
theater program, both on stage and backstage.
Of course, there are many other costs and incidentals that, each year, add up. Yearly,
this is a challenge for our Booster Board but because of your generosity we always
meet our goal.

This year our goal is to raise $50,000, allowing us to continue bringing you, our
community, the most spectacular and professional performance possible. It will also
allow us to provide our students with the necessary tools to continue broadening their
abilities and reaching their potential. All of this is a community effort and we

Works of William Shakespeare, abridged for $20 each. If you wish to purchase

Concession Donation & Volunteers

Hello Parents of the Cast and Crew for "Flowers For Algernon"
Due to the overwhelming success of our new system for selling concessions
at “Bat Boy,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Flowers For Algernon,” we are
once again going to streamline the snack offerings for this year’s play.
Rather than asking people to bring food & drinks to each performance, we
are requesting a monetary donation from each family that we will use to
purchase the items sold at each performance. This plan will maximize the
amount of money made for the theater program, and minimize the unsold
food left over after each performance.
Monetary donations for concessions should be noted on the Master Check
List Form and then included in your check for payment for dvd’s and tshirts/sweatshirts. Put all 3 forms TOGETHER with the Master Check List
Form and your check made payable to CHS Theater Boosters in an envelope
for Deborah Snyder. Envelopes should be dropped into the "mailbox" in PA2 by the above date. Please remember that we have 6 shows to provide
food for and be as generous as you can. All money goes to CHS Theater for
your kids!

Calabasas High School Theater Boosters
Dear Calabasas High School Community Member,
Calabasas High School Theater Boosters is a non-profit organization which
helps promote and support theatrical productions at Calabasas High
School. In addition to assisting in the cost of the productions, the Theater
Boosters raise money for improvements to the theater, including the sound
system, lighting and the general upkeep of the facility. We also provide
educational materials for classroom use and scholarships to seniors who
have been a part of the theater program.
Because our funds are so limited, we greatly appreciate our community and
friends who help us raise money. Our current drive is to raise money for
our 2010 fall production, “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare
Abridged”. Any size ad would be greatly appreciated.
If you would like to place an ad in our Playbill, the advertising prices are
listed below. This is an excellent way to reach community members,
advertise your business or services, and help to support our theater
program!

Dear Calabasas High Parent and Theater Supporter,
As most of you know, being involved in the arts is a tremendously
valuable asset in the growth and overall development of our children,
nurturing creative ways to deal with the world around them. The CHS
Theater Boosters is a non-profit organization designed to promote and
support our theater program, by raising money to: 1) assist in the costs
of production, 2) help improve the theater facilities, 3) bring in
professional mentors to assist in the education of our students, and 4)
provide scholarships to our seniors.
In order to provide these enrichments to our children in these trying
times, we need to reach out to our friends in the community for help.
To that end, Mr. Garrett – a tireless advocate for our kids – has updated
the CHS Theater website. We can now offer sponsorships to our
community members and loyal vendors, so that they might have the
opportunity to advertise and promote their businesses, while
supporting the arts.
Enclosed in the following pages in this packet is a letter to these local
friends and businesses, explaining our new website sponsorship
program. Please join us in our efforts to recruit as much community
support as possible. If every family would bring in just one or two
sponsors, we could ensure the vitality of the program that has such
impact on our students’ lives.
