INNER DEMON (Canadian Premiere) - From the twisted mind of powerful female director Ursula
Dabrowsky, and hot off it's World Premiere at the Night of Horror International Film Festival in Sydney
where it won Best Australian Feature, Best Australian Director, and Best Female Performance (Sarah
Jeavons). A teenage girl is abducted by a serial killer couple and manages to escape and find refuge in
an isolated farmhouse, only to discover it is home to greater horrors and a malevolent spirit. Don't miss
this!
WHAT REVIEWERS ARE SAYING:
"The film is brimming with tension and scenes of profound physical and mental agony ... horror fans will
be shaken and thrilled by the latest fantastic horror film from Down Under.”
- Heidi Honeycutt, Fangoria
FRI, AUG 7th at 9:00 PM & SUN, AUG 9th at 9:00 PM
SOME KIND OF HATE (Toronto Premiere) - A bullied teenager is sent to a reform school where he
accidentally summons the spirit of a girl, herself a victim of bullying, who takes vengeance on his
tormentors. Directed by Adam Egypt Mortimer and starring Grace Phipps (Fright Night), Lexi Atkins
(Zombeavers), and Noah Segan (Looper).
WHAT REVIEWERS ARE SAYING ...
"SOME KIND OF HATE has done the nearly impossible, rejuvenating the slasher subgenre as a whole
with the potential to grow into a beast of its own design ... there’s a good chance that it could be the next
contemporary horror classic." - Ken W. Hanley, Fangoria
SAT, AUG 8th at 4:00 PM
BLOOD PUNCH (Canadian Premiere) - A young man is lured into a dangerous love triangle that begins
to take a series of shocking and grisly supernatural turns, in this funny and original horror/sci-fi starring
ex-POWER RANGERS Milo Cawthorne, Olivia Tennet, and Ari Boyland.
WHAT REVIEWS ARE SAYING ...
"Blood Punch is a Supernatural Film Noir on Meth." - Patrick Cooper, Bloody Disgusting
SAT, AUG 8th at 7:00 PM
LOST AFTER DARK (Canadian Premiere) - 80s Slasher Horror directed by Ian Kessner and starring
Robert Patrick (Terminator 2: Judgment Day), David Lipper, and Elise Gatien. In this clever and incredibly
faithful homage to 80's slasher films, a group of teenagers looking to party get stranded when their stolen
ride breaks down, and end up being stalked by a cannibalistic killer. The look and feel of the film is so
perfectly 80s that you won't believe it was made in 2015.
WHAT REVIEWERS ARE SAYING ...
"The best 80’s slasher film that wasn’t filmed in the 80’s." - Sam Decker, Best Horror Movies
SAT, AUG 8th at 9:00 PM
SLUMLORD (Toronto Premiere) - Claire and Ryan, a newlywed couple, move into a new house across
the country, only to find out that their marital issues are the least of their problems. Unbeknownst to them,
Their grim and lascivious landlord has been spying on them from day one. Directed by Victor Zarcoff and
Produced by the McManus Brothers (Funeral Kings).
WHAT REVIEWERS ARE SAYING ...
"Slumlord works so successfully on a horror level because Neville Archambault’s creepiness is believable
and not completely over the top." - Blair Hoyle, Cinema Slasher
SAT, AUG 8th at 9:30 PM
LATE NIGHT Double Feature ... During a late night taping of Dr. Nasty's Cavalcade of Horror, bloody
chaos takes place while screening two features (Dinner for Monsters and Slit). Samantha/Nurse Nasty is
frustrated with how the show is being run by its womanizing director and its drunk and crazy host, Dr.
Nasty.
WHAT REVIEWERS ARE SAYING ...
“Lots of gory fun that shouldn’t be missed.” - Toronto Film Scene
SAT, AUG 8th at 11:00 PM
BUNNY THE KILLER THING (Toronto Premiere) - A group of Finnish and British youths get stuck in a
cabin when a mutant half human, half rabbit, attacks them. The creature is Bunny the Killer Thing, and it
is after anything that is resembling female genitals. The most over the top horror comedy you will see this
year. EXTREME WARNING: Not for the easily offended.
WHAT REVIEWERS ARE SAYING ...
"For chrissakes man! Don't watch this at work, in front of your mom, your priest, small children, dogs in
heat or the elderly!" - Andrew Mack, Twitch Film
SUN, AUG 9th at 2:00 PM
50 HOUR FILMS (World Premiere) - See local & international short films that were made as part of the
50 Hour Film Competition, where filmmakers had under 50 hours to make a short film from concept to
completion for a chance at over $20,000 worth of prizes.
SUN, AUG 9th at 4:20 PM
THE SHELLS (Canadian Premiere) - Led by a madly enthusiastic director, a team of amateur
filmmakers hole up in a former undercover DOD research facility to make a film about a dream researcher
who disappeared while in the midst of a secret neurological experiment.
WHAT REVIEWERS ARE SAYING ...
"THE SHELLS is one of the most original horror films in decades and should be watched by genre fans
looking for something smart and thought-provoking."
- Jerry Smith (Icons of Fright)
"Like a more grounded version of A Nightmare on Elm Street... A chilling experience!"
- Bears Fonte (AMFM Magazine)
"A little film with quite a few big surprises... A sequel would be epic!"
- Vernon Nickerson (The Art of Monteque)
SUN, AUG 9th at 7:00 PM
THE HOUSE ON PINE STREET (Canadian Premiere) - A psychological horror about a young woman
coping with an unwanted pregnancy after moving into a seemingly haunted house. This is not your typical
haunted house horror with cheap jump scares. House on Pine Street will get in your head and unsettle
you right out of your seat.
WHAT REVIEWERS ARE SAYING ...
"Rosemary's Baby' goes West in the Keeling brothers' low-key but atmospheric haunted-house chiller."
- Dennis Harvey, Variety
"One of the most meritorious indie horrors I’ve come across so far this year."
- Howard Gorman, Scream Horror Mag
