Notre Dame College Prep
Notre Dame College Prep was
the first educational venture in
the Chicago area for the Priests
of Holy Cross, Indiana Province.
Dedicated to “Our Lady”, its
campus located at 7655 West
Dempster Street in Niles. Over
12,000 students have been educated since it’s founding in
1954. The name DONS was
selected by the first principal,
Rev. James d’Autremont. It is a
Spanish word for “gentlemen”
making Notre Dame Students
the “Gentlemen of Mary”.
Notre Dame currently has 800
male students representing 19
different faiths within their student body. Students come from
160 different elementary
schools and live in 36 different
communities.
Not only dedicated to providing
a superior education, 50% of
Notre Dame’s students participate in one or more sport each
year. 15 interscholastic sports
are offered. 50% of the students
participate in 30+ clubs and activities. 20,000+ hours of community service are completed by their
students each year. 98% of graduates went to college over the
last decade. Over $14,000,000 in
scholarships was offered to their
2012 graduates by various colleges and universities.
