Williams Lake Lodge w w w. w i l l i a m s l a k e l o d g e . n e t BOAT-IN • HOUSEKEEPING PLAN Northwestern Ontario, Canada & Outpost Trophy WALLEYE, NORTHERN & SMALLMOUTH BASS F ishing at itsFinest Fishing Lac Seul & Williams Lake Walleyes 8 to 12 pounds are more common in the South Central part of Lac Seul than 6 to 8 pounders in most other lakes in this area. Quantity is also the rule. Expect to catch and release many limits during your stay. Lac Seul is, without question, one of the best walleye lakes in the world. Williams Lake produces trophy walleyes, but not the numbers that Lac Seul does. Many northern pike over 20 pounds are taken each year from both lakes. Williams Lake is especially good for trophy pike, and one over 30 pounds would not be a surprise. Smallmouth bass are plentiful in both lakes with 6 pounders being caught. These lakes are the best due, in part, to the abundance of forage such as whitefish, cisco, rainbow smelt, and perch. Also, this area is a very long boat trip away from the more crowded east and west ends of Lac Seul and therefore has little fishing pressure. Conservation Bear Hunt Our fall black bear hunts have been a huge success. We have a large bear management area that no other outfitters use. To give you the best service, we book 10 or less hunters over a 4 week period. Stands are pre-baited and accessed by boat. Bears are plentiful here and we guarantee you an active stand. Spend some time fishing too. As sportsmen and conservationists, we all must help preserve our fishery for our children and our children’s children. We ask that you enjoy your stay with us for what it really is – a peaceful retreat from the busy routine. Catch tons of fish, enjoy a few of the small ones for lunch (take some home too), and release the big ones. To encourage the release of trophy fish, Williams Lake Lodge will award free trips to the anglers who release the largest walleye and the largest northern pike of the season. All fish shown on these pages were released. Nature Lover’s and Photographer’s Dream Williams Creek lazily winds along for about three miles through the historic Canadian Shield, joining Williams Lake and Lac Seul. The journey takes you along some of the best wildlife habitat in Ontario. Moose, deer, black bear, wolf, fox, lynx, beaver, muskrat, otter, many species of waterfowl, and families of golden and bald eagles are regularly seen.
