String A, B, A, B, A, B, A, B, A, B and pass back through the first A forming a loop. Leave a 12 inch tail and tie a half-hitch knot. There are five A beads and five B beads. 10. Repeat step 9 four more times, then tie off thread. 12 17 Step 5 11. It is easier to pull the tube through the rondelle than it is to push it. Create handles on the unfinished end of the tube to make pulling easier. With a scrap piece of thread (approx. 2 feet) add temporary loops between every other seed bead. The loops should be approximately two inches long. 12. Insert the loops into the hole of the rondelle. Gently pull the loops and guide the tube into position inside of the rondelle. You may insert a pencil or awl into the loops to help grip the thread. The tube is in position when the outside row of seed beads protrudes from the end of the rondelle. Remove the temporary thread loops. B A Side View 5. Add B (Bead #17), then pass back through the next A (Bead #12). Continue adding B beads in this manner until you have added a total of five B beads. Step 11 Step 12 View of Ruffle on Rondelle Finishing the Ruffle 6. Gently pull the thread to remove excess slack to form the tube shape. Remember to pass back through the first bead added in each row before starting the next row. Continue adding beads until you have a total of 7 A rows and 6 B rows. 13. Using the 12 inch tail, repeat steps 7 through 10 to embellish the remaining side.
